Hey guys do you think in next 2 years there will be relase better miners for SHA256 than Antminer S9(from bitmain)? Smiley
What do you guys think about that i want to hear everysingle opinion.

Thanks in advance for postion ur opinion..
Most definitely. You cannot compare what we have today to what we had in the past when bitcoin journey started and I am sure you would not expect us to keep going the same way as time goes on. New innovations will come up most especially for easy mining and as difficulty keeps increasing. So in a couple of years, we should start seeing some new and better features.
And that is the beauty. Human always been attracted toward the change. The variety thing in a product makes it more suitable choice for the customers and thus the evolution continues. You are absolutely right, we can’t think of the last ten years and now to be same. Things are changing and so is the mining, but more features are on the way.
It's very important to be updated with latest and software are the major product that should be updated with respect to the future.
Mining will also run to the latest update technically. Lets expect for the best machines in future

Yes I do really believe, bitmain is going to reliase more effective and efficient sha256 that will be better than Artminer s9. We are in the era of great technological developments and if they do not reliase something with a lot of good features then they should be ready for competition and other mining hardware tools company will  be able to over take them. Bitcoin is growing and time will come if not even now that Artminer will not be able to mining enough coins to cover one cost.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/first-bitmain-antminer-s10-speculation-thread-probably-1489276

Short form - S11 in (my ballpark estimate) about 2 years.

The timeframe estimates out of GMO look to be way on the "too optimistic" side at best, given the OTHER news out of the semiconductor manufacturing industry as a whole.

As far as i can see mining will turn less and less appealing for small rig miners. You have to consider that the cost of electricity in some countries (like mine) is costing so much that mining is almost not profitable. So many people have turned their interest in other forms of making money in the crypto currency world. I think that learning about new technology in blockchain and its protocols is the best way to spend your time.
if unit cost per electricity iscloe in your location you can still make the profit in mining you can't with the bitcoin only for mining to et the decent profit you have to choose the some fast moving altcoin to mine now. Then you will surely get the profit for sure.

Yes of course. The bitcoin network is increasing day by day and the software developer are not folding their arms either. I think a fresh software will be give birth to anytime soon.

Why do you care about better miner?

What is a better miner?

My thoughts about better miners are as follows.

Unless someone makes a gpu to asic type jump I don't care much

The bcc vs btc drama with a new fork coming this nov are far more interesting to me.

But I will bit and say all the coin vs Coin wars settle up and the company GMO MAKES a 300 watt 10 th miner in spring of 2020.

I would hope to buy it

I'm with philipma on this one.
Unless there's a huge change in technology (e.g. quantum), I wouldn't expect anything crazy in the next 2 years.

Of course. There are always new things planned.

https://news.bitcoin.com/gmo-to-invest-10-billion-yen-in-its-own-7-nm-5-nm-and-3-5-nm-dedicated-bitcoin-mining-chips/

GMO are planning some super hot mining chips for the future. Unless Bitmain ups its game it'll be just another footnote in mining history. Expect more companies to get involved too. There's still a mountain of money to be made while the block rewards are around.
Before continuing that thought, please read the last few pages in the 7nm thread. Especially the bits about just where current node sizes are at.

Looking at any easily Googled list of Foundries on the planet producing 14/16nm brings up NONE in Japan so for start just where is the multi-billion FAB needed in Japan?

Only update to node size is that yes, both Apple iphone-8 and Samsung Galaxy-8 are both finally shipping with '10nm CPU's'. To most in the semiconductor industry this is Pure loss-leader Marketing largely driven by Apples damn-the-torpedos push to celebrate the iphone anniversary. Naturally Samsung had to follow suite. Oh well such is the world of mass-consumer electronics Marketing.
 a. '10nm' is a stretch vs actual physical junction size (which how Intel and IBM measure).
 b. Only a very limited set of function blocks in the chips - which are SOC's btw - are at the small nodes. Over 50% of the chip is closer to 14nm...
c. Most important - these are for the MOBILE market and as such are very low power. As in around 100mW running full-tilt. A miner chip even pushing as little as only 1-5W - forget it.

The lithography used for patterning is DPP and DPP+ (Dual-patterning process). Horrifically slow combined with equally bad usable chips yield = ONLY the mobile phone world is using it. Only they are willing to eat the cost per-chip in each phone sold.  Not even Intel is looking sooner than Q2 2018 anymore. That is how it will remain until EUV gets a bit better in the coming year.

They are always adding up new features and upgrading the previous antminer. You can always expect new one to be launched within couple of years. They upgrade a lot as the bitcoin mining gets difficult they try to upgrade the hardware into more powerful peace of iron.  Tongue

That's not good one for previous miners as it fails to compete the block solving infront of new one. This increases competition as well as miners need to pay more for new miners. This takes out fun from the mining because big wallets can afford to upgrade but not the minor people. That's sad but true.
