Evil beware: We have waffles!
43 hours! honestly WTF!  Huh
Don't recall you bitching about the 0.323%, 4 minute block.  Huh There's a reason it's "on average".  Wink
Ja. Mining MUST be looked at over the long term so the uber-fast and ultra-slow blocks even out..
As in at least several weeks at a time when testing what pool is 'Best'.

Been there, done that (testing, compiling spread sheets) several times and gotta say for me, KanoPool has always been best when looking at total payout over at least 1 month time.

My invalids went way up in the last few days  Would the CKDB restart have anything to do with that?   was running 0.5% and now its up to 1.4%

Remember all the blocks we were getting till the bragging comments?  ..... Any pointers for a noob?
Ignore any comments about what blocks we are/aren't getting and remember that it all works out above average here, in the long-term.

The current block is getting irksome...
I know, right? We've only gotten 6 of the 3 blocks we should average for the last 58 hours?  Huh

Reading a recommendation by Kano to configure more than one URL on the miner got me to ask. What other kano pool URL's could I put in my S4 and S5? I live in Central America.

S7 Soon-ish

The nodes are shown in the thread title (US,DE,SG,JP,NL,NYA) and you use them by putting the location in front of the kano.is. (ie de.kano.is). Try pinging each of them to see which ones are fastest for you and use those.

I can't speak for kano-san, but I have solo pools setup for my fail overs if the first pool setup in my config pointing to kano goes dark. Rarely happens, and only for a short time, so pointing to anything other than a solo pool seems pointless to me...
Just my 0.02BTC, YMMV.

Pretty sure he's asking for other kano pool nodes, in case one node goes down and he isn't around. Could be wrong though.

I've used those devices, but they don't work well here on Kaua'i Island. The dust here is volcanic, and loaded with iron oxide, and additional whiskering due to the salt content in the air is nasty. A lot of us here use something called QD Electronic Contact Cleaner (a spray can...Ace or Home Depot). Shut down & open the device box, and spray this stuff down over everything, then suck/wipe up the stuff that flows off. It dries in seconds, leaves no residue...and it will dissolve any whiskering and oxide dust without harming anything, and get into places you can't with a vac or brush.

That sounds like gnarly dust! Grin

Sorry for the OT....
I don't have any volcanic or salt content in my air here in the North Carolina mountains. Smiley Just plain old dust and pollen and a stray cat hair or three. So I think the electric blower and an old toothbrush will take care of my issues. I have used contact cleaner on other computer electronics in the past. That is a great idea. If I run into some gunk in my miners that might benefit from that, I have an Ace Hardware about 5 miles down the road.

Thanks for the idea.  Grin

Let's get a few blocks before the day is done!! We CAN do it!!!

It needs to be rather strong to get the dust out of the middle of the miner.  Just remove the two fans and goto town on it. Blow from both sides. I didn't have to remove the case or anything.  I blew straight 110psi thru them(prolly overkill).  Dust went everywhere. Used one of those blow guns with a reduced tip. Hard to say what the pressure is coming out the end.  Happy Easter everyone

BR

I will pull all the boards out and clean out / blow out each board individually to get into all the crooks and crannies. No worries about taking them apart as the warranty is long gone. Wink

We have something like this at work:

CKDB Restart in ~45min at 17-Apr 11:30am UTC
See the web site for details.
Just a restart - no changes occurring.
Completed, all ok.
Shudown was at 11:29:49 and restart completed at 11:34:41, so just under 5 minutes.
All good Smiley
