I'm sure not the only one here hosting at cryptoboreas, probably another thread on this topic but they shut down and landlord holding all miners. Thats where almost all of mine are and thus unable to mine here till this is resolved. By the time that happens, all my miners will be worthless. I know there are a few people with 5+ PH in miners also hosting there, what are we to do? Anyone have any more info or link to thread?
Apparently some of the smaller miners were going to be transferred to GND in Labrador City last week
(I've actually spent a few days at that GND datacentre that is quite literally out in the middle of nowhere)
I've no idea what actually happened with the transfer though,
but it would appear it hasn't happened yet.
The outage started around Aug-14 17:30 UTC

The people that chose to have their miners moved to GND are going to be have their gear moved very soon (like in a week). Most of the people affected chose to stay with us though and have their gear relocated to our other two shops.

Anyway, this problem has been resolved 100% and everyone will get back to hashing very soon.

If anyone has any questions please just e-mail us ( see our website) instead of posting on non official forum threads as you are not likely to get properly informed.

Note: I don't follow this thread so please don't ask me questions here. I just happen to randomly come across it and noticed us being mentioned.

Just a reminder about those BAD for the network empty blocks and how all the large pools generate them.
...
Yep slush didn't use up any of the transactions - though of course you can see that on any block chain site by the fact that height=540991 is an EMPTY block

Nice investigative work there super-sleuth!

Do keep an eye on miner chip temps as you are drastically reducing airflow through the casings...
Thanks for the warning. Pretty steadily they've been 30-35/80-90 as I use a mostly straight 6" semi-rigid aluminum vent.

Just a reminder about those BAD for the network empty blocks and how all the large pools generate them.
Including slush who lies saying they don't do it:

Block 540991 found by slush was an EMPTY block 274 bytes.

Checking our main bitcoind for the real info on that block shows:

Previous block:
2018-09-11 22:44:55 UpdateTip: new best=00000000000000000023747d9c9628984b52a0f6069bb8f2286f40f2792110e8 height=540990

Our first work we sent out, after that block had used up some of the transactions:
2018-09-11 22:44:55 CreateNewBlock(): block weight: 3965654 txs: 3276 of 15600 fees: 0.09606374 sigops 21259

Yep there were still 15600 transactions in the mempool, we produced work for a full block after that block change with 3276 transactions

Then 9 seconds later slush's EMPTY block - yep instead of sending their miners work for a full block, they sent them work for an EMPTY block:
2018-09-11 22:45:04 UpdateTip: new best=0000000000000000001cb5dcc5ed9e8adf80de43d3661bc3cbb30defb2c1a492 height=540991

Our first work after block 540991:
2018-09-11 22:45:04 CreateNewBlock(): block weight: 3965242 txs: 3279 of 15609 fees: 0.09623248 sigops 21244

Yep slush didn't use up any of the transactions - though of course you can see that on any block chain site by the fact that height=540991 is an EMPTY block

better try the sounddampening air hose, Sonoconnect. It really really makes the sound go away. You will find then though, that the pumping of the air thru the cooling fins on the chips make a hell of a noise as well, wich comes from the casing itself.

How's the noise with the ducting like that?
I'd have to say, it's not much louder than an oscillating fan.
That's perfect actually.  Something to look at for my office at work in the winter.
One idea I thought of is that the opening of the ductwork could be extended and silenced some by forming a sheet of that egg-crate shaped soundproofing foam around it.

I'll keep ya posted.

Edit: Just to clarify things, I wasn't meaning to block the opening but instead to extend the ductwork with a cylinder of soundproofing.

Datacenter decided to move me up the street so 2/3 of my fleet will be down for 3 weeks.
Ouch!

3 weeks???

naturally, they will compensate revenue losses....?
It's a wash. They charge $1000 week, only making $1000 week now. Unless BTC price bumps up.
They will just stop charging for the weeks i'm down.

With the weather we're having on the East Coast, I decided to test out my Avalon+KanoPool heat pump...

Ahh, nice and toasty!
Looks great BSG, how well does it work?
Thanks! The kitchen+office--thermostat's in the office--was 72°F when we left for dinner!
Update: Looks like I'll have to wait until its colder... My wife couldn't take the heat, so she had to get out of the kitchen! Grin

I switched it back to exhausting out the window until late-Fall/early-Winter.

Cheesy  I still say we HAVE to get a meet and greet going amongst the kanopool faithful, hell I'd fly to OZ, have always wanted to go...!  Wink
Just think, a bunch of old, technogeek curmudgeons getting together to eat, drink, and talk about 'the good old days!'   Now THAT would be both fun and funny!!
Mine on!  Cool
That would be awesome... Ha!

How's the noise with the ducting like that?  I ask only because my magical R4, that's still alive and running great after a much delayed firmware update, is so quiet it's as silent as an electric space heater and I can sleep in the same room with it, but with the A9's coming and the admittedly assumed ability to run in economy/quite(er) modes I'd be interested in doing an upgrade if it's a win...  Wink
Plus, not giving any more $$ to shitmain is always a win!  Cheesy
Well, as I've mentioned a few times I get my A7 to run quiet enough to stay in the lounge room 24/7 with the standard fan in it.
I'll have to harass canaan and get an early A9 and see how quiet I can get it to run with freq/volt/fan setting adjustments Smiley
Please do!
Once the A9's come out I have 3x 721's in office areas I've love to change out. Just need to be very quiet.
