After some advice... I have a Gridseed coming to me 2moro but have never set one up. I believe I need software to run it, so I am thinking cgminer, however, the software will be running on an apple mac but not sure if cgminer will run on a mac.
Has anyone setup any gridseeds to work on the pool, if so, what software are you using.

Whoever gave you advice to get a gridseed clearly had no idea what they were talking about
Yes it can mine BTC, not it will never make anything, yes it will use lots of power that costs way more than it will mine.
If instead the advice was "here have a free gridseed and learn about mining for a week" then maybe the advice might be helpful
No, master cgminer doesn't work with a gridseed, so you'll have to look around in the software area (as gt_addict suggested) to find something that does.
