It definitely wasn't just you. Now it is shown at the top of the page here: News: Due to DDoS attacks, there may be periodic downtime.
My first message as a full member))) Glad to announce it here, as I registered at bitcointalk not so long ago mostly to communicate with all of you who are also mining at kanopool.

Well more was a case of 3 slow blocks followed by 2 fast blocks that pushed the average almost back (97.87%) to where it should be

This pool never disappoints...sometimes you just have to wait a bit longer.
