I believe by fact that this pool is the best and most profitable pool. You will have to do the due diligence yourself and you will come to the same conclusion. You have to also consider the forum for CKPool (Kano.is) for the wisdom, competence and response from the members, kano, and ck. This is just an adder, but this is a big + for this site as well.

Probability is a mathematical means of describing what is still essentially a random event. Luck is luck. Variance is variance.

I think the point was that, all things being equal, everyone has a chance of finding a block...not an equal chance, because hash rates and other factors affect it, but there's that chance.

One last idea I would posit is that just because someone runs less than perhaps 30TH, it does not make them a "hobby" miner. Mining can be just as important...perhaps more important...to them as to a whale with a farm investment the size of New Jersey. It could also be that the small miner has actually been doing this for longer than one might presume (as in years), even though their installation is relatively small, and have a pretty good handle on things. I listen to those folks. Their mana'o (thoughts and commentary) is worthwhile to me.

Actually, it doesn't "prove" anything. I'm not sure what you meant by "effectively still random"; it's not random, it's probability. Random would be if your television somehow solved a block, but 38TH of miners solving one is not random - there are definitive odds that you can calculate there. It is luck, though, nice luck for what is hopefully a hobby miner. Cool
