Is something going on with the pool? A couple of times in the last 8 hours or so my miner has failed over to a backup. The most recent fail over was in the last 10 minutes or so.

My miner is at a data center with with a very reliable Internet connection. We have monitoring of our services out the wazoo and none of them (including the external monitoring system) is indicating a connectivity problem at our end.

I've had this same problem.

Yeah there's been twice this afternoon/evening when I've lost contact with the pool.
In both cases when I regained it, it showed pretty much the same hash rate, users, etc. so I've been assuming it's my home internet (which clearly has had problems today)

None of the remote nodes lost contact with the main pool node, but one of them (DK) seems to be losing all it's miners each time.
Various monitoring I have on another vps is randomly having trouble talking to some of the nodes I have that no one can mine to.
So, basically, it looks like a couple of random 'out there' short term internet routing problems getting to the main pool from some places on the internet.

Block by Xunknown1!  That is his 4th Kano block and our 4th of the day!  Cheesy

If we can maintain at least a 4 block/day average then I'll be able to keep mining as is...  Grin

http://tradebtc.net/bitcalc.php

At 45pH, we need 4.25 blocks to achieve 100% luck…

But, Ck pool always do better than that

I don't have to have 100% luck to cover my hosting fees...at the current BTC price and the current pool size, My fees are covered with ~3.1 blocks per day.  That's why I'm happy when we can maintain a 4 block/day average each month.  We have been holding around 4.4 blocks/day for several months now.  If any of those 3 variables gets out of wack then I either have to increase my S9 to S7 ratio or retire from mining.  So far everything is looking good.

EDIT:  I already miss the good old days (last week) when we got 25+ BTC per block...then I only needed ~1.6 blocks/day to cover my fees and everything else was profit  Cry

You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your bitcoin
When you're sittin' near your miner
There'll be time enough for crying
When the "Halving's" done......... Grin

reality is what you think it is
Any problems with port 80 on kano.?  I get  dead on my  s
7 on this  port  .
Checking my units remotely several times a day, have never seen :80 dead and :3333 alive at the same time. So may be the problem is at your end. I am not an expert though.

Oh sorry Citro...the fatness of a block generally refers to the number of Tx included and also the amount of fees collected.  By my definition at least.

I'm trying to be disciplined about not firing up my S7's until 10:30 or 11 tonight, but damn, the urge is killing me! I guess it's hash-rate withdrawal. LOL
I'll just have to be satisfied with the S9's 12-13TH for four more hours.  Tongue

huh? why s7 are supposed to be off until 11 for you?
in addition, why there is so mush trolling here and in hardware?
OT: I was rooting for France, but Portugal was better in overtime. Oh, well.

It's a self-imposed cut off. I'm trying to cut back on electricity use and I'm only running my S9 during the day (and night), I will turn on the S7's for the overnight shift to join the S9.
Until coin prices rise about another $20 $15, running all of my miners 24/7 is costing too much $$ and is just above break-even for me.
Bottom line is I'm trying to save electricity.

I'm not responsible for the trolling. That ain't me.  Wink

Can't win 'em all... Wink  (re football) I was rooting for FR as well, actually. Got friends there...well, almost everywhere, I guess.

If it's of interest...Happy the S3 went down, took him apart, and found an extremely localized deposit of dust and goop (for lack of a better term) in a coin-sized circle surrounding the RJ-45 socket on the controller board. Since this is a volcanic (extinct, we hope) island, the dirt here is deep red and mostly iron oxide...ie., mildly conductive. Cleaned the small area with contact cleaner and a toothbrush (the spaces between the solder points were totally encrusted), let dry, remounted...and Happy is happy again, and I'm back to full hash.

A toothbrush. Well...I guess sometimes smaller IS better...  Kiss
