lol mine Kano man.  He must have the door to Narnia in his garage.  The inside is like the Tardis...
Hey guys.  I wans't gonna ask but, does anyone have one of those coupons?  I guess if I can't make myself turn off or down my sp20 when I'm losing money so  I should probably upgrade before next machine wave.  Spending money to constantly hold 30-80th renting is getting old.  Think I'm ready to start a real mine back up, if I had found Kano earlier I would have never had to cease operations.

Wait.. You have close enough neighbors to ask what the noise in your garage is, need to find a contractor or insurance person to fix a water leak, and yet are looking to buy 1. possibly 2 12PH Mining containers....... Roll Eyes

Ummm.. yeah.. That makes absolute sense...

BTW all I am dean on the pool but I created the account and then it wouldn't let me log in always saying your already logged in.. so had to make this account.
I do understand variance and luck now.
I just started what I call dumb mining Christmas 2 years ago with a single overpriced miner and followed where they recommended mining Eligius but my payout time kept getting extended /bumped and last one was 6 weeks and that made me nervous , then bought s5's last year and saw Antpool so dumb mined there, never tried to learn just took my earnings and bought more, then to one other and well when I asked a question ( like mine here) the guy snapped at me but my question was this. If I am producing this much how can I be .5% of pool if pool supposedly has 36-40k TH/s My pay was very good but I do not like deception so I mined at antpool for a lower return.
I then started researching and reading posts on different boards and discussions and my decision was based on integrity and trust of pool owners by it's farmers and not total income and thus I came here and started learning how payouts worked and such I am so new to this whole thing it's sick but I must say dumb mining was relaxing.
I plan on investing a lot but I have decided I will keep my growth at home going because it's just fun and keep my neighbors wondering and asking what all that noise is from garage haha (Gaming computers is my answer) and boy do I get weird looks
I want to order the 12ph container from bitfury (hopefully my brother will see the brilliance and we can get two) and support Kano through solo mode or help here if needed...
I like integrity as I deal with enough scum in business so y'all are stuck with me.
Well off to Easter stuff and then fix water leak since I can't get any contractors or insurance guys out here as my kitchen flooded and ruined flooring, carpet, What fun.

Go Big or Go Home.....
Well, it's actually quite simple to see the answer.
Long term luck is above 100%
If people hopping on and increasing the hash rate had a negative effect on luck, then long term luck wouldn't be over 100%

What really happens is simply that people remember bad luck and not good luck.
When you hop, it's hard to know what your overall luck really was ... and you probably just remember leaving coz the luck changed.
When you don't hop, it EASY to tell, look at the long term "Block Statistics" ... woo we been lucky Smiley

This block is currently 256%
We are EXPECTED, on average, to get a block 256% or more, once every ... ~13 blocks.

I know , but I like to look at short term luck.  Wink Cheesy Tongue
I like it HARD and FAST...  Cheesy Cheesy

Why is it when we get on a roll masses join and we stop finding blocks.. they leave. I understand someone wandering looking for a good pool but you can't make money if you just hang for awhile anywhere. but why is it we end up not getting blocks when the fury hits? I know just random I assume...or is it.
Either way we had a great run and it was exciting .
Ordered 2 more s7's and hoping someone comes out with a new super efficient unit soon. I want to order more but want next generation/sigh
let's get 4 blocks today anyhow...I'll start chanting and meditating.

That has been a long-standing discussion here at kano...we laugh about it, we cry about it, and sometimes the discussions get a bit heated.  The bottom line, it is what it is...people do what people do and it always will be so.  Some folks think they have a magical luck stick and it points them to various places at various times.  Others just sit back here on kano and just watch personal best earnings roll in month after month.  I guess it depends on which type of personality you have!  Cheesy

I've noticed the same thing after we started hitting over 20PH, but people with their statistics and logic of course disregarded it. Yet it holds true almost all the time. Guess the world is flat after all. LOL

A CKDB restart will be coming up in about an hour - the first shift summarisation after about one hour from now - probably about 14:30 UTC (2:30PM UTC)
No miners will be affected.
The web site will show lotsa '?' for about 10 minutes (or less ...)

This is a performance update I've been working on, and mentioned before.
It also includes a bug fix that should hopefully clean up the memory leak, that means I won't need to restart CKDB every 3 days.

However ... this is a rather drastic change in how I process data coming into CKDB and although I've tested it quite extensively, it will take a live run on the pool to be sure all is OK.
So, although I don't expect any problems, if there are any, I'll simply switch back to the current running version - which will just means the restart will take longer. There should be no other side effects.

I'll post again once the update has completed (or if there were any problems)

Another nob question.

I have 3 miners atm.
Obviously I can put all miners under 1 worker, or I can put 3 miners under 3 different workers.
Which method give me a higher chance of finding a block?
or it works the same either way?

Doesn't matter. Works the same either way.

Thanks Smiley

I believe it makes no difference in terms of finding a block.

However to track their status, having 1worker per miner is a good idea.

And if you register an account you get nice graphs per worker like the one I posted earlier Smiley

great thanks
