Getting intermittent connection to the website, but pool address/port seems ok, maybe a DDOS on port 80?  Angry

Not noticing any hiccups either on the site or with my miners (and our pool's hashrate hasn't budged).

Possible there are just intermittent connectivity issues with your path through the internet.

I was not on the net much over the weekend.

I checked my email first thing this AM and all of the block found emails for the 24 hours made me a very happy guy!

Can I win a Avalon with 5GHs?

From the opening post on this thread "Be a miner here with more than 300GHs - and less than 250THs..."

This means that I can never win the Avalon with my Ante U2 ...

Go Big or Go Home.....
Amazing how I've been on this pool since under 2ph.
Glad to see others giving the Chinese pools the middle finger also.

Strange. Isn't it one basic property of hash function, that with the same input it will always give the same output. So how can you hope, that with the second try the result is different?

If diff is 113,000,000,001  and we get a 113,000,000,000 share  I would think why not test it again.

But I would also think it never would give a block unless there was an error.

I can recall some Mac pc's had bad calculators due to a flaw in intel cpu's  so your math could have rounding errors.

Say 2003 to 2007  my exact memory fails me here.

So maybe an asic could have a rounding error?

It causes orphans. So no.

(solo pays to only 2 addresses, so it's the same as here at kano.is)

Well surely don't want that.  Again thanks for always having the 30000 ft view of things.

Congrats on the growth... You are at the point now where it will be self perpetualing...  And the true "luck" reality will slap everyone in the face.

I do have a question for you as I trust your insight.   With this ever increasing difficulty.... I have trouble believing it can be as lineal as made out to be.   Is the variance between block finds going to grow and grow?  (or more 35 second finds and more 45 minute finds between blocks for the whole network)?   Because if this is true .... Two other things become true....  Either the pool needs to be huge... Or have very efficient software and network or you won't be able to survive.

Making things like p2pool dead.... And further encouraging empty block mining by the greedy.
Halving is so going to change the rules even more and will be here very quickly now.

I was looking this https://kano.is/index.php?k=blocks

What does 378389 block text "share diff was very close so we tested it, but it wasn't worthy" mean?

Isn't it perfectly clear whether block is valid or not?
