I noticed that Jan 8 ( the 7 block day) was Shirley Bassey's birthday.
Didn't she sing Goldfinger in the Bond movie?

Idea: allow only know ip- addresses - possible to prevent from ddos aso?

If yes, Kano can you build an DDNS - Link to grab our ip`s

pool is back since 10 min.

welll, I'm not sure IP filtering would necessarily work. DDOS's operate by overloading the firewall / server. Even if you did implement IP filtering, the firewall doing the filtering would still be getting inundated with packets that are being rejected. Each packet being rejected is using a bit of the processor and a bit of the bandwidth, it still would slow down things to a grind when it maxes out.

Having multiple paths to the pool from multiple locations with a redirection scheme that senses when one or more paths are under a DDOS attack automatically redirects to an open path... that would be ideal in my opinion
I thought that is how it is supposed to work...

There trying too bring uss down so they can try to over run our luck its not going to work Smiley our 10ph  up agenst there 200+ ph and were rocking them out ..can't thank kano enough for what he has done to make this such a great pool !!

Couldn't agree more or said it better myself. I'm a new miner since November and joined Kano in December based on a post I saw of David's in the Slush thread around that time. After a short PM exchange between the two of us, I joined on Dec 9th and reached my full 5ND by the 13th.

I don't have many Bitcoins due to loosing them in a Titan deal, but I'm willing to donate a few days payout of my 11TH to help implement some sort of DDOS protection for the pool as I consider this place my home and my fellow miners as the crazy family you can't help but love lol...

I mean the pics of the chicken, baby Jesus and toddler powered S3s make me laugh every time I'm having a rough day, so i would be happy to donate to keep all us clowns here as you guys have no idea the positive affects your posts have on others as I know I'm not the only one!  Grin

Looks like we have more hash pointed at the pool.  I want to take the time to thank everyone who has joined us for pointing their hash here.  I also want to thank you for remaining determined to keep your rigs here despite the attacks on the pool.

If you flip a coin and get tails 10 times in a row, what are the odds of getting tails on the next flip?  The answer is 50%.  The exact same as it was on each of the previous 10 coin flips.
What if you eat chicken before the 11th flip?

Actually I'm a vegetarian.  I just didn't want to say anything before.  I also don't drink.  I noticed some people seem to think beer has something to do with it also...

well that clears it up  guess i need to go else where with my questions lol.. a blind man can see the correlation on the graphs. But o well to each there own.. your entitled to your opinion and i have my thoughts as to whats going on. No biggy..  ill move on
My post on the subject was deleted with respect to odds of X vs odds of Y, basic statics likelihood of the outcome of one event vs another independent of each other, so yes, onward we move it appears...

If you flip a coin and get tails 10 times in a row, what are the odds of getting tails on the next flip?  The answer is 50%.  The exact same as it was on each of the previous 10 coin flips.  The fact that you got tails 10 times in a row and that the odds of that are low does not influence the next coin flip in the slightest.  That is how luck works.  A streak of bad luck does not in any way indicate that good luck is coming, and the reverse is also true.  Statistically speaking, the odds of getting tails 11 times in a row is even lower than the odds of getting tails 10 times in a row, however those odds don't actually indicate that the 11th flip has a higher chance of coming up heads than tails.  It is still a 50% chance.

Of course this all presumes that you believe in luck in the first place  Wink

WHEW!   Just got done resetting all of my miners (one by one) to come back to Kano.is at 100%.
you have a pc?
You can use putty.exe to reset your miners in batch

I will try that!  It may save me hours of resetting.
