[ It's funny because I was doing some PMing about questions on Hashrate and BAMMED, after I looked and said what the?HuhHuhHuhHuh
Nothing funny actually.. It might be good idea to read before write, restarts happens several times a week/month. Everything announced in this topic.

Elapsed time at Workers page is time after previous network block found and this is not linked with any restarts.

Pool just had a restart.  All your shares are there, but the db tracking gets reset when this happens...
No worries, keep calm and mine on!

Cool cool.  Thanks for the confirmation.  It's funny because I was doing some PMing about questions on Hashrate and BAMMED, after I looked and said what the?HuhHuhHuhHuh  Looks even much worst.  Good to know that there was a reboot and this is expected.  I was guessing that based on elapsed time but wasn't certain.

Did something change to the pool?  My Hash rate is showing as over 40% less than what it should be.

It's much less than what it was 2hrs ago.  My Hash rate should be around 15TH give or take +/- 5%

Does Elapsed time at 4mins means the server just got rebooted?

We did have a pool restart.  Kano, gave us an hour notice and then a 10 minute notice before it occurred.  Do all of your workers show the pool "Alive" now?  If so, it will take up to an hour for the pool to show your full hash rate again.

Thanks guys for the Firmware info. I was not sure if there was something optimized for this pool. Since there is not and the current firmware seems to be running fine I'll leave it.
I'll move my other S5 and the U3 over tomorrow. They have finally paid for themselves. Now to start making profit before the difficulty goes through the roof.

This alerting function for Block discover / workers low hashrate alearting that DMwardjr shows me for Kano pool is so awesome.

Zach, is the one to be thanked for that.  When one gets to a point where they can send him a donation for his time invested, I know he would appreciate it.  Any amount helps.  No pressure, just when one gets to a point where they can donate a little.  I know he would appreciate our generosity just as we appreciate his pool monitor.

Thanks Zach!

Thanks Zach!

On that note ('yesterday') about finding blocks and restarting the pool.

I'll be restarting ckpool in an hour (minute hand just passed zero, next time it's back at zero)
So at 22:00 UTC ~1hr from now.

This is to update the main server ckpool to allow the new remote nodes option that -ck has been working on.
We'll update you with details of remote nodes once they are working and available, but this is the first necessary step in that process Smiley

I'll post again about 10 minutes before the ckpool restart.
Restart in 10 minutes.
Everything went smoothly and almost all the hash rate that failed over has reconnected.

I also restarted the tube nonce proxy and that shows all ok also.

Will be working on configuring/testing the remote nodes and should be posting one available very soon Smiley

kudos to dmwardjr for bringing our new mining brothers into the fold.

Well, I know I did not bring all of them here.  Still need to send out more PM's.  I believe a lot of them are here from Slush.

Welcome everyone!  Please remain through to full payout of your 5Nd and stay at least two weeks afterward to get an idea of the potential here at CK/Kano.  I personally do not believe you will regret it.

Spread the word everyone!  Send PM's to people...  Even to complete strangers if you have to.

I slushed over.   Smiley

Sent to the address linked in his app, different but I'm sure it's going to him!
Now, back to the chicken for lunch question...

I'm sure that one works as well.  I sent a donation about 10 days ago using the one he provides in his signature in the forums.

Which can be found here if you click this quote from him:

Thank you DMwardjr for letting me know about the alerting tool!  Works like a champ and no more need for me to look every 15mins.  =)

We found another block after 1 Days 21 Hours 39 Minutes ! Approximately 264 %Diff - Found @ 2016-01-02 10:37:03
Block # 391403

Thanks for using CKPoolMonitor

Please be sure to login and verify your apikey and/or BTC address are valid.

I'm glad that you find it useful!  Grin

New to Kano.is. Jumping ship from Apool with a couple S5's and a u3.
I have one running now on Kano as a test and am using cGminer 4.8.0 that is from Bitmain. Question. Is there a better firmware to be running on S5's while on kano?

thanks in advance,
Donny

I have no idea what version of cgminer is on this last firmware update by bitmaintech for the S5.  I have an S5 but it's not even hooked up.  It's just sitting on a shelf waiting for a power upgrade.  I have all S7's using what power I have available at the moment.  Maybe someone else with an S5 could tell you what version of cgminer is on the latest firmware update from bitmaintech.  Of course, if you haven't already, you can download and upgrade to the the latest firmware upgrade yourself and see what version of cgminer it has.  It can be found here:  https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720150101032800325X8cMcY2y068F

Indeed, I have found Zach's pool monitor app quite useful, and a bit of a time-burglar, so I am sending a bit o' ye olde BTC to the Zach-man!

And it's time for me to get some lunch, chicken anyone?

Thanks very much!

I know he would appreciate any amount one can give.

How long does it takes for a pool to restart.
Usually about 100 milliseconds assuming no issues on restart, some miners don't fail over at all while others might for up to 5 minutes. If you have no backup facility you'll probably be mining again in seconds.

Great. Thanks -ck
