Looks like the pools hash rate has nearly doubled in the last 12hrs. Not sure if it will be a blessing or a one hitter quitter Huh
Was actually due to the v3 fork so I've no idea how long it will last.
However Smiley He just found us a block while I was doing the payout (coz I woke up not long ago)

Yep was a 6 block fork due to a v2 block in the bad fork
All sorted out now - we were on the good v3 fork the whole time of course Smiley

We just got another block under 100% - 74% nice Smiley
... and for interest sake, my home bitcoind shows a V2 block arrived 2 blocks after it and was rejected.
(that was the first V2 reject in my home bitcoin log)
So it would seem the V3 switch over requirement has happened.

Edit: and another V2 block rejected ... hmm I wonder who's mining them ...
debug.log has been a lot more useless due to the bitcoin devs removing some of the useful info from it ... which is odd they've done that since the name is ... debug.log Tongue
adding -debug to the run options solves this ... as per Luke-jr telling me ...

SP20's sitting with old cgminer firmware.  Cry

I never had one.
Though they did offer me one, but that became the first pool prize Smiley

Heh, no that's probably just variance.
I make sure the hardware difficulty is as close to the pool difficulty as possible, not sure if they do that properly or not.
Over time it should average out to the expected or possibly a little above it.

The most obvious performance change is the CPU reduction which should minimise any delays and thus minimise latency and delays processing results.
Of course the other things are also the web changes and being able to see the API allow options and add your own cgminer options (e.g. for direct solo mining)
... and lastly being updated to latest cgminer.

I'll look into the --quiet problem and see if I can reproduce it ...
Ah OK, I see what you meant.
Yes if you enter nothing in "More Options(Default: --quiet)" you end up with --quiet

That's OK though since the S3 doesn't use screen so you aren't watching cgminer ... and it reduces IO a tiny bit also.

If you really want it to not use --quiet you can put some other option(s) there and it will use that rather than the default --quiet
So e.g. you could add --btc-address 1xxxxx (with your BTC address of course, not 1xxxxx)
if you wanted to set a backup pool to solo-mine at home (and it will have no effect if you don't have any pools pointed at a bitcoind)

This is also how you solo-mine on an S3 vs how to do it on an S1
... my S1 solo mining guide/post:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11590434

... which shows how you CAN easily solo mine on an S1 even though the Eligius people imply you can't without their software ... coz they don't like cgminer and spread FUD about it ...
http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMining/comments/394gw5/q_i_want_to_use_my_old_s1_antminer_for_solomining/

I still don't know why anyone mines at Eligius, you lose BTC doing that, their so call no-fee mining pool loses blocks in an amount similar to my fee on this pool and their payout means someone who block withholds can still be paid their full payout (on here with PPLNS, if you block withhold, you lose BTC you will never get back)
The fee here also means I manage the pool 24/7 and don't ignore it when there are problems like what happens on Eligius.

i just updated one of my S3s to this new version but cryptoglance stopped working.

is there anything default that you keep you from seeing API port 4028?

NM i think i got it.

for anyone interested gotta add this line to the API
,W:192.168.1.0/24

so the whole line is

Before I TRY to get into this s3+ I thought I would ask if the update is now complete? Mind you, I AM NOT very skilled /w Linux & am a bit apprehensive about doing the upgrade. As soon as I know the code is ready....well, I guess I'll be off-line for a bit. let me know & wish me luck!!

Thanks for the hard work done on this...looking forward to success.    Grin

Mine at Jonny's Pool
Hiya JB,

Regarding kanos latest firmware:

I upgraded my S3s to use this.

....did you manage to get the hash rate stats up on mmonitor/cryptoglance by any chance? If so, what flags are you using?

Thanks.
Sorry, no.  I don't use the monitoring apps.  I just look directly at the miners.  You might want to ping mdude77 to see if he's going to make any changes to his app to reflect the standard cgminer APIs in addition to the borked Bitmain ones.

Mine at Jonny's Pool
I've put an AntS3 update archive in my binaries git hub of latest 4.9.2 cgminer.
For details and installing: https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS3

This has been tested and run on both an old AntS3 and one of the later AntS3

I don't have an AntS3+ but I suspect it should work fine there also.

The menu frequency settings in the "Miner Configuration" "Advanced Settings" web interface includes default settings for both S3 and S3+

I've, of course, tested it on my pool https://kano.is/

It should also be OK on p2pool since it's the same code related to p2pool as in my AntS1 and AntS2 releases

Please give it a try and let me know if anyone has any trouble with it on AntS3 or AntS3+
I upgraded my S3s to use this.  I'm happy to report that they are all functioning quite happily and hashing away on p2pool.  Reported hash rate is accurate and things seem to be going quite well so far.  I've also noticed that CPU utilization is down quite a bit and my S3s are not constantly rebooting like they did previously using the NH-provided extranonce patch.

Thanks again for your work.  While I don't mine on your pool often (I have in the past), I figured I'd throw you a donation for the work you've done.  Go enjoy a couple beers on me Smiley.  Here's the TxID: 80b31448a4bf00d56a25a197565f6760013e2aed7bf2b7deded694ea8637c7d2

S1 is just a binary, not a whole web update as well:
