Unfortunately newbies are not well received on bitcointalk. Visit some other areas of the forum, and you'll quickly see many newbies are one line Shitposters, who are here for Money, not Bitcoin or its community. So, in your situation, it can be very aggravating. I can remember being a newbie too, however many people have forgotten what it feels like to be shunned. With that...many people here are incredibly helpful, but some have been burned, so the Walls are very tall and finite.

I'm pleased to hear you've decided against the corporate shenanigans, and happy to have you aboard!!! If there's anything I can help with, I will be sure to post. Goodluck on the amperage.  Wink

It's understandable.  There are a$$holes all over the internet that are more than willing to take another's generosity for granted! Thanks everyone for the help, encouragement and coupons.  I'm really not much of a forum poster because I'd rather sift/search through the thread than ask direct questions (I learn more that way!) and I'm not yet very knowledgeable to be helpful.  But I'll definitely let you know when these new miners start ramping up! No more coupons needed, my order has been placed!

Thanks for the judgment  Wink, but I don't recall begging for anything.  I agree coupons should absolutely go to someone that's been mining the pool longer.  On the other hand, if they expire, what good are they?  I just started my mining setup a couple of weeks ago at 53th/s and want to expand to 120th/s.  I didn't have the enough service amperage to begin with the 10 miners that I wanted so I started with what I could handle.  I started in a corporate pool but stumbled upon Kano only last week and immediately moved over.  Look at the pool stats.  So, yep, I'm just the FNG, but I will be purchasing 5 more miners this week with or without coupons.

I've got 5 s9's in the cart now that I'd love too save some BTC on if you don't mind sharing! That is, of course, after CryptoStash gets a pick...

Ho men ... people are so greedy,

New account begging for coupons.

Going to resell them right ?

GTFO

thanks

You can contact Steve at Canaan.

[email protected]

I'm pretty sure you can also just submit an order that size but it doesn't hurt to touch base first.

They also sent out an email yesterday about a price drop I think the 841 with June delivery is down to 958.

Reached out to Steve, thanks.

Looking to get some kind of discount on an order of 50 rather than just checking out on website.

Would rather support them than Bitmain...

So all the Bitmain coupons gone?
I actually have 19 $100 and 6 $200 coupons that I'm not going to end up using. Free to anyone mining at Kano.

Good call the product really speaks for itself. The nice thing is besides the 2 year warranty they are training local repair technicians around the globe.

Good luck

If you know anyone on any bitmain pools or slush (which is probably now a bitmain pool also) with over 2PH then tell them about it Smiley

This is from the threads OP -- which I read because I was intrigued by your contest.

I'm just curious why you would suggest that Slush is a Bitmain Pool?

This is a legitimate question.  Like some here -- I was one of the group that began the "merged mining" which was the beginning of Slush.  Until 1 1/2 years ago I stayed in touch with the people over at Satoshi Labs and even participated in their Cryptoanarchist hackers convention.

Is this legitimate?  Is it rumor that I haven't heard?  Or just internet BS?

Seriously -- I'm genuinely interested because Bitmain has really bothered me lately with their BCH agenda (not to mention the "ordinary" laundry list of concerns).

Thanks!
Merged mining wasn't possible until after altcoins existed - so the end of 2011.
Slush started in 2010.

Anyway,
it's quite simple actually if you look at it sideways Smiley

Slush jumped by about 2EH in a few months.
Lets say 13.5THs miners, so that's about 148,000 miners went online in his pool over that short period of time.

Do you seriously think that all the miners at slush were able to get to: 5 times what they already had, in a few months? Seriously?
There were no 'new faster' miners. S9s had been around for well over a year already.

He's literally scammed everyone on his pool before, due to his own negligence, in Dec 2015, up to 500 BTC, so I can't see any reason why he'd have issue with helping Bitmain and letting them point a lot of miners at his pool to distribute their hash rate more.

--

Meanwhile, as far as the numbers show by someone here who keeps comparing slush to my pool, you've been losing out by mining on slush all that time, and paying him more than twice the fees here Tongue

Wow. It's like the price drops to keep pace with the diff increases... Crazy to think they used to be 4x as much!

Hey guys,

Am ready to make a significant expansion to my present mining power.. electricity has been sorted out..

Is there a warm contact at Canaan to approach regarding a bulk order? (40-50 units)

Anyone still have bitmain coupons remaining?

135TH pointed @ Kano now, hoping to have much more soon Smiley
