Hi Kano,

I know the numbers are fractional but its more just to get an understanding of the differences in payout for the last few blocks

Block   Block UTC   Miner Reward   N Diff   N Range   Pool N Avg   Your %   Your N Diff        Your N Avg           Your BTC
518796   2018-Apr-18 15:11   12.91089522   19.265T   159hr 32m 34s   144.06PHs   0.01%   1.511G   11.30THs   0.00101247
518767   2018-Apr-18 10:42   12.56059595   19.245T   159hr 24m 25s   144.03PHs   0.01%   1.512G   11.31THs   0.00098664
518762   2018-Apr-18 10:11   12.42885719   19.283T   159hr 43m 7s   144.04PHs   0.01%   1.514G   11.31THs   0.00097598
518453   2018-Apr-16 10:08   12.67693429   19.208T   158hr 5m 55s   144.95PHs   0.01%   1.530G   11.55THs   0.00100984
"Miner Reward" varies and is in this case the main reason why your BTC values changed.

Again, it's your fraction of the work times "Miner Reward"
The last block was a long network block so was 12.9 BTC, above the current standard amount.

No worries, wasn't complaining just making sure i understand whats going on Smiley .

So far all happy with the mining For Kano. New M3 miner with a higher T/h on route s o as soon as it's here will be added to Kano Smiley.

Mine on Kano San !!!!!!!

Huh Huh  Guess it coulda been my ISP but it had no problem switching to 3rd pool and mining a little dust.  I have US west as #1 and US east as #2  and they all failed to #3 for about 5-10 min.  Shift graph shows the event @ 5:24 utc, not sure how accurate that is.  3rd pool shows all workers logged in @ 5:45 utc then zero @5:55 utc.  Maybe I had an isp outage @ 5:24 and the miners were just trying to connect anywhere they could and happened to hit pool #3 when the internet came back up?
The failover code in the miner is full of all sorts of fail.
I've seen miners that failover to pool3 instead of pool2 when there's nothing wrong with pool2.
(and it takes 5 minutes to work out that a pool is alive again ... yawn)

Ok, who has one of the s7's I donated to Sidehack for him to uv/uc and resell, specifically the one with Ant45s7b6 written on it?

At least one of the pool settings is still pointed at me as a failover and it came alive about 8P Eastern last night. While I appreciate the brief added hash rate ya might want to make sure it remains pointed at your user name and not mine... Wink

lol and you complain. what if they hit a block Wink

Good morning Miners,
Does the pay out for each block go on your N Average ?
"Your N Avg" is a calculation so you can see what your average hash rate was for the whole 5Nd of the reward.
Same for "N Avg" for the Pool's hash rate.

"Your N Avg" = "Your N Diff" / "N Range"
"N Avg" = "N Diff" / "N Range"

"Your BTC" is your fraction of the work done in the 5Nd times "Miner Reward"
which is: "Miner Reward" * ("Your N Diff" / "N Diff")

Of course that's the same as "Your N Avg" / "N Avg" since:
"Your N Avg" / "N Avg" = ("Your N Diff" / "N Range") / ("N Diff" / "N Range") = "Your N Diff" / "N Diff" Smiley

Only the BTC values shown there are to full accuracy, so you will get some rounding errors if you do the calculation yourself.
That would be awesome if you could add this as a Help > Definitions page on the website to mitigate these types of questions. Maybe add some more definitions to cover the other pages like the Shift Graph and Workers page. Thanks!

Carl, aka Sonny :)
The only thing I see is the difference in block sizes. Since we get the full block plus transaction fees minus the pool fee (0.9%) the larger the block the larger your payout with everything else being approximately equal.

Thank you for your response and expertise.  I had already read everything in the Help>Payouts section on Kano.is, but being new, it's slightly over my head about the nuances of how it works.  What you expressed about the wind up and wind down actually help put it in perspective much easier than what I read in the help section.  That was a helpful analogy, so thank you for that.

If there is an average of 5 days to help make things more consistent, what doesn't seem to be consistent still is the payout on average.  I will search for more information in this forum to attempt to answer my own question.

dThank you, again, for your great explanation and how this group can possibly treat the naive.

It's not that big of a deal, we've all been there (myself included). We've had an attempt to simplify it a few times in return for a large sum of terahash for a reward and still could not quite get it to click for a member. Everyone has their own way of understanding so whatever works.

I originally meant the pages in the thread you can find almost any answer to, but it can be daunting to search all of the pages. Don't be afraid to ask, I was just warning you if you get some responses that come across as impatient, do understand there is a reason why.  Grin

Understood.  Thank you.   It all makes sense, so far.  :-)

Hello, again, everybody.

First of all, a BTCig Thank You to blok, jimmy, and sidewinder!!!! Way to go with the Triple BTClock Humpday!!!

I just wanted to remind everyone that the deadline for entering the 2nd 1TH-4-5Nd giveaway is fast approaching!! 23:00 UTC, today.

~
Amount too small = dust ...
~

Don't let this happen to you! Help me help you beat dust!! Send me a PM with your Kano Pool user name now to enter this round of the 1TH-4-5Nd giveaway!!!

I'm happy to report that Igor and Billy have been able to get the mice back in harness so we can do this next round. I've been trying to get the licenses for the bigger mice. It's always a PITA dealing with a bureaucracy.

I have to tell you, there are exciting things happening on Kano. Is(land)! Lots of folks have more efficient gear, or just moar gear coming in. At least one of our sponsors has been able to keep pace with the current increase in diff, so there should be at least one thing going on every week, at least for a little while.
Make sure you keep up with this thread and social media. I may have a couple of tricks up my sleeves, and I'm not the only one here that believes in the concept of Pass the Hash.

For now, from the sun-dappled shores of Kano. Is(land), I'm K.P. PasstheHash, reminding you to

MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!!
