Carl, aka Sonny :)
Hello!i was mining on the pool with 65 TH for more than 2 days when the block happened...my reward was for 25TH as it says at the rewards page...can someone explain that to me?i should get more than 60 usd for more than 2 days but i got 16 instead...

Read this post...it may help you to get an understanding of the 5Nd payout model and the 5Nd "ramp". Smiley

Also, try not to look at rewards in USD terms because Bitcoin fluctuates wildly quite often.  Relate everything into BTC earned and BTC expected.  It will make everything much easier to figure out. Grin

Mining for You at https://kano.is
Greetings, all!
~

~

Question of the day: does anyone want one terahash (1 TH/s) for 5Nd? If you do, PM me.  You have 48 hours from the time this is posted to respond. May luck always be in your favor.

Still mining for YOU at https://kano.is.

As always,
MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!!

Hello, Everyone!!

A quick update: Yes, there's one terahash for 5Nd being given away.  @thedreamer, you ask what sort of drugs I'm on - I drink tap water. Legally acceptable levels of lead, PCBs, benzine, Prozac, etc., there.

There's still time to get in the running for the One Terahash for 5Nd Drawing. Simply PM me to let me know you want it, and make sure you remember that I need your Kano Pool user name to point the hash at when YOU win.

MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!!

Pseudo-quasi-legal stuff:

As always, not responsible for outages, equipment failure, and all that other stuff. I'll do my best to deliver, though.

Limit one entry per pool user. Entries in excess of one per pool user will be disregarded.

Huh... I must have gotten incredibly lucky on that last shift - a2sr6 daisy - 176TH/s as opposed to my average of 137TH/s shifts normally ...
Uh, oh... Spike for me too.
Although super minor, mine dropped from 13.65Th to 13.49Th average for the last block reward.  I had 3 drops in 2 shifts (I accidentally rebooted the wrong miner once but not sure of the other drops were).  In any case you would not think that 3 five minute outages would drop it that much.  The lowest my hash has been since I started was 13.57Th.  Not a biggy, but may help your investigation Kano.

Ok! I understand now!!thanks for help!

You are very welcome, my friend Smiley

The hardest part for miners that are new to this pool is understanding the 5ND and PPLNS payout system, and getting used to our variance (i. e. some days we hit 3 blocks and sometimes it takes 3 days to get 1 block).  However, once you've been mining here for a while (more than a couple months) you'll begin to see that this is the most profitable place to mine. Kano, our pool operator is incredible at staying on top of everything and keeping us informed, and this community of miners are very knowledgeable, helpful and fun!

For sure, there have been difficult months (Feb was brutal!), but by hanging in there, eventually our luck turns around and we are back in the black. Thanks for joining us! You'll be happy you did  Grin

If you were only mining for 2 days, then you weren't fully ramped up (takes approx 7 days to get to your full 5ND) so your reward sounds about right. Do a quick search on this topic and you'll get many explanations of 5ND and PPLNS payout system. In the meantime, mine on!

Simply put since I'm driving, read the Help > Payout section of kano.is.

I'm sure others will chime in to explain if you still don't get it.

In the meantime, just keep mining! Grin

It is so refreshing to be on a pool where transparency is the normal mode of operation...everyday.  Thank you Kano!

I remembered reading this one, I'm surprised you can remember a pool prior to this one. Wink

but I do agree it's awesome always knowing what is happening here. Glad I'm in it for the long haul

...

Yeah I'm running the next run of shifts on the other server to see if the problem is related.
No worries I can of course correct it Tongue

But the point is to find the cause this time, rather than last time was to simply get the data fixed for the payout due in ... 1 block Smiley

Well all's OK finally now.
Due to a mistake I made getting the block to recalc it's %, I had to restart twice.
But all OK now, block % recalculated and Reward processing done.

Payout will be ready before it's due Smiley

Then I'll look into how the shift got closed with no shares in it.
Must be a bug in the processing logic somewhere that can sneak in during a double restart.

Mine on! Smiley

Kano - Hopefully it's just me getting lucky not an issue with the backend Smiley

Kano has figured out a way to multiply our hashrate...he really is the wizard we all suspected he was! Cheesy

I may stay up later tonight to see how this plays out Smiley

EDIT:  The very next shift went back to normal for me also...

EDIT2:  It was the charlotte shift that went missing the first time and this anomaly happened to be the very next shift (daisy) after charlotte this time around.

Uh, oh... Spike for me too.

Edit: These are probably the few times anyone has protested of too much hash...

I'm wondering if it's part of the recalc counting duplicate shares... Hmm.

Edit 2: Next shift (elen) is back to normal for me.

We all would like to try some of what he's on because he's in a good place! Cheesy

Of course I'm in a good place, Sonny. I live in a sub-basement in an abandoned building on Kano. Is(land), I mine at Kano Pool. No better place on earth.  Cheesy
