Hahah yeah if anyone needs coupons Bitmain is having a freaking fire sale right now. I picked up two more S9 13T’s for 800 a pop after using 420 dollar coupons. I have two of those left, a buttload of 220 dollar coupons and I think like 45 100 dollar coupons. I’ll let them go to any Kano miner for 20% of face value. PM me if interested. Seriously go check bitmains site. Every miner but the X3 is deeply discounted. I also smell the imminent release of an S11.

There’s an address that starts with 1AM2 that is solving a LOT of BTC blocks and my guess is it’s jihan testing a large batch of S11s. No one knows who it is.

What's the first block that address has solved (how long ago)??

They still have value. I'm not saying one is going to build an empire of S7's. They served me well and got me started. I'm ready to increase my efficiency with bigger and better miners. Someone else may be in the same beginning point and look for S7's.....and I have some I am retiring while also trying to keep them on the pool. You are right that they won't be very much, especially if you knew what they cost at the time they were purchased.
I agree. If someone wants to get into Bitcoin but doesn't have a few grand just laying around, they have to start somewhere. I started with an Avalon6 (3.5THs @ $2/day in electric) when Bitcoin was 2x what it is now--paid a pretty penny for it too--and with the steady increase in difficulty coupled with the constant drop in Bitcoin prices, one could argue that I'm currently doing little more than laundering my electric bill payment for Bitcoin. Ok, I'll accept that, but I'll also ask what other legal investment that you'd recommend for me to spend that same USD on that will potentially double later this year when the price goes back up.

I'll admit that in hindsight I could've went a cheaper route than to buy my friend's Avalon6 setup this January. On the other hand, I also paid my way out of some potentially demoralizing frustrations, which may have delayed and/or discouraged me from following through with this Bitcoin endeavor altogether. In fact, this would be the time to buy a less than top-tier miner at a low price and upgrade when you can sell it for more, or just get every last TH out of it while waiting for Bitcoin to go back up in value.

So, with that I say...

PREVIOUS GENERATION MINERS FOR EVERY NOOB (myself included)!!!

and, of course... MINE ON WITH KANO!!!

That reminds me, I do have some Avalon A6's for sale as well lol. Should plug right into your controller. PM me if interested, I feel they are pretty cheap.

I think right now I’d just buy btc instead of more miners. Unless difficulty dropped  and we started hitting the block lottery.

I did both....Yes, I have a problem!!! Hahaha!!!

Same here. Why not take advantage of both, right? It seems some are getting spooked again, my eyes are on the prize.

If you can get them for $16 then why don't you stock up?

They are power hogs relative to current tech.

Before that crazy surge to just short of $20,000, Bitcoin was around $1200 for a quite a while.  So, while I wish the price was higher, this price is pretty dog gone good, if you ask me.

I tend to agree, but difficulty is also up.  One needs to consider the cybercoin equivalent to "inflation adjusted".  Perhaps "Difficulty adjusted"?  Depending on when you pick, that would turn your $1200 into something like $4800.  So we would still be in OK shape, just not wonderful (or in December "giddy") shape.

S7's here, come get your S7's. Cooooome and get 'em folks; ripe, sweet and warm S7's now. PM me if interested. They are operating on Kano pool and it would be nice to keep it that way. PSU available.

Sorry to say, but don't expect to get much for those.  With coupons, I could buy V9s (relabeled S7s by all accounts) for $16 each plus shipping.

I'm fully aware of the market. Fact is, people are still looking and they are still selling. I'm not worried about the BTC price and neither are many miners looking to add more equipment for cheap.

If you can get them for $16 then why don't you stock up?

Think for yourself
i dont understand why someone would be in a hurry to turn on new machines. with the market in free fall its unlikely they will even pay off the machines now let alone energy costs.

I'm in a hurry to turn on more efficient miners. Personally, I'm in it for the Bitcoin. The price is still higher than last year at this time. It's tax season in the U.S. and the stock market is down. Major FUD in the media speculating, speculative, speculation. Not so much a free fall. It is the nature of this beast, and these trying times will make or break noobies. If you're in it for an instant paycheck, you'll shut down. If you're in it for the long haul, you'll make ends meet, and move on as if nothing ever happened.

And hopefully get some relatively good deals on new miners as the manufactures adjust pricing due to the lower demand...

Of course, "relatively" is very relative.  Is it a good deal to pay $2000 for a miner when BTC is at $7000 vs. paying $4000 if BTC goes back above $14K?  I find contemplating such things a short path to making my head hurt.
