Free mining equipment tracking and reporting
really depends on yer long term plans but make sure u have a licenced electrision do the work. use wrong wiring or breakers and itll burn the house down. personally i say find an apartment building that includes hydro and put 6 units in each Cheesy (1 per circiut) save 600$ a month on hydro pay maby 800 in rent Cheesy.
I would also recommend getting an electrician to do the work of a sub-panel.  Wire size / length, circuit capacity and getting a safe / neat install are important.  And make sure that the main breaker from the utility is not increased unless your feed is also increased.  I would also recommend that you go 220v circuits if possible since there is less loss over the length of the wires.  Probably easiest to put in 30A 220v circuits which would support 5 S9 miners.  Remember to get your wired internet connection setup well too.

Hey everyone!!!  First, hope you all are having good days and easy mining!!  I'm trying to expand my mining capabilities.  I have about 3000-3500 watts running for my 2 miners, possibly a tad less than that.  This is a constant state obviously.  I want to add more but the fuse box my house has is kind of a mess, and the wiring in this house is from 1988 so I have to be somewhat particular about how to mine in my house.  I was either thinking about rewiring certain things in my house to other circuit breakers in the breaker/fuse box and adding higher amp fuses to the box as well as to the main supply on the side of my house.  The main supply is not so much the issue though, we had that upgraded years ago for new A/C units and just to have our house safer we added a whole house surge protector.  The other thing I was thinking was going wherever, getting a secondary/auxiliary fuse box and either running lines from the regular fuse box to the Aux. one or running lines directly from the houses main feed to the auxiliary one.  I'm basically just looking for any advice, seeing if anyone else has done some of this (I also want to add more wall plugs that are directly from the new box), getting some idea of how much a mission like this would cost and if anyone has any suggestions on equipment that I should get for the job aka which aux fuse boxes are good, how high in amperage should I go with my houses main breaker on the side of my house and maybe what ways are better than or worse to wire the aux fuse box also things that I should avoid doing.  For anyone who wants to give some advice I'll love you forever.  I want to contribute to the mining process more and make mo' mowneeeeeeeees!

@Toll-booth-jimbo

A sub panel will probably be your best, cheapest bet. You can price everything you'll need online. However, I seriously recommend contacting a certified electrician, for the hook up. I don't know what code requirements you fall under, so that's the best I can suggest.
Goodluck!!!

Anyway, how exactly does everyone who's in a similar situation here transfer (sweep or import?) their mining payouts from cold storage to warm/hot wallets where they can spend the Bitcoins they've earned?

I have looked back through some conversations here and there; however, I'd like to know how you guys recommend doing this in a secure, repeatable manner. Thanks in advance.
I used to go the same route you go, but I've switched to using a hardware wallet. Makes these things much easier. I highly recommend one.
Same here, I use a non-USA based wallet to collect my payouts and consolidate to my hardware wallet around once a month.
So, just to understand a little more about the process before I go out and buy a hardware wallet, could I keep mining to my original paper wallet and import(?) it into the hardware wallet; use the hardware wallet to consolidate the payouts into another address on the hardware wallet; spend a portion of the BTC from the consolidated address; and finally repeat the process later--after more BTC accumulation--by re-consolidating everything into the change-containing address?  Huh

Is that how that all would work, or should I go do a bunch more research?  Cry

Thanks for everyone's patience reading (and hopefully replying to) this painful-to-understand post.

Evil beware: We have waffles!
Our favorite reviewer philipma1957 is supposed to be getting one in April(ish) and could probably do remote access to it for ya to poke around and play with... Considering he favors the smaller pools should be right up his alley.

You probably have already read my feelings about Halong's corporate attitude so I could really care less about getting a miner from them but - as someone else has said, now that the AB patent is open to all it should be a safe bet that the other makers such as Canaan et al will at some point include AB in their chips.

If Canaan, eBang, Bitfury and push comes to shove, Bitmain, decide to join the AB club then I'll care if our pool supports it. Until then, meh.

edit: And in the time it took to post this I see wavelengthsf has chosen to be a guinea pig by ordering one and made the offer!
Kudos and +1 merit fer ya!

Kano- do you think you'd make the stratum changes on this pool to support the new overt ASICBOOST?
Not before getting access to one.
I'm not stupid enough to assume any code is just going to work when created by a certain person who loses blocks on his pools and calls that 'misfortune'
Testing properly is a way to avoid that Tongue
But hackers usually have no idea about such things.
Experience tells you otherwise.

So if they don't actually exist ... then no they wont be supported Cheesy

I ordered one - so if I get it, I'd be open to sending it to you to test / integrate (and trust you'd send it back Smiley )
No need to send it to me - just to point it somewhere and let me test it properly and see what happens.

Kano, on the pool site, is the number of users actual accounts, or is it per miner connection? I'd like to include the number in my
promoting I'm doing for the pool, and I don't wanna stray from facts. Also, I've noticed this number climbing too. Thanks!

Can anyone else answer this? Thanks!
Users is the number of accounts + address accounts (currently mining)

Thank you sir! This is very useful information.

Sorry all, I've deleted all the posts about someone getting people to fund buying miners.
Firstly, I've no idea who the person is, and secondly it's a brand new account asking for people to send them money.
Both of those mean the discussion will be not be held here.

That was me Kano.  Apologies if it was out of line.  I was hoping to find some way to harness the collective buying power of the pool to purchase 821s wholesale from Canaan.  It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I recognize the inherent risk of the proposition.  My hope was that I could keep the process transparent enough, including providing a sufficient amount of my personal information, so that all involved would be comfortable with the arrangement.  I loved the idea of pushing 66x 821s to the pool in the next 30-45 days, at a reasonable up front cost, but again I completely understand the hesitation on your side.  No harm, no foul?  Happy hashing everyone.

again as i believe someone else said if kano was to lead the charge it might be possible but not likly otherwise
I asked Canaan directly to buy 1PH from them myself 2 months ago - to try and find ways to get the hash rate back up - but they ignored it Smiley
So I can't see me being able to help in any way with actually 'getting' miners.
I often point people who ask about getting lots of miners to steve at Canaan but never hear back from any of them either Smiley
Anyway, as I mentioned, if you want to discuss this, create a thread about it, not here.
