You can’t say that it is an advantage, simply because you never know when you crack a block, so it could be just when you were just starting to ramp up or when you almost ramped down after you left (if you decided to do so in a shorter term). And you may not hit any blocks while your ramp up is at its highest these days if you don’t stay for a long time. Roll Eyes

The whole point of this system is to deter people from doing just that (pool hopping). Once you are fully ramped up you could do things like take down a machine for cleaning and put it back up next day and hardly notice a dent in profit loss.

Also the frequency of the payments doesn't mean its paying less. If something, its paying little bit more (less tx).

You could get payments every day or every month, Does it matter if the sum of everyday payments in a month is equal to a monthly pay?

yep! I am getting at least something! I think I have been offline for a month now Sad

By the way, you guys should start cracking the blockies pretty good sooN!  The difficulty has dropped by another 10% or so so now we are like we were at the beginning of June or something like that!   Wink

My current daily rewards have more than doubled since after the difficulty drops!  So get ready for a green streak soon!  Wink

Find a room you're not using and exhaust it outside, like literally right next to the window.   I did that for 3-4 months at home, couldn't hear it inside minus walking by the room.

no empty rooms in my house. Still working on the electric company to at least turn the one meter back on - even if they wont install the transformer for the larger building. Hard to deal with them though when I work 50-60 hours a week and it being the holidays so a lot of time is spent with the family preparing for next week. Hopefully after the first of the year.

I am still offline but I still got a reward, though greatly diminished. but still nice to get something.

Must say I like the size of that last reward. It definitely helps to put some of the worries about getting to small at ease.
We are a nice size right now and still fall into the ever important metric of 100% being within a Diff period, if that makes sense. Now I'm looking forward to a block with that last 20 PH of Pool N average shed.

Stryfe or anyone else who has been priced out of their home situation for the moment. May want to check this out for Cryptoboreas they've updated availability, one bonus for new hardware would be that they are Canadian and you avoid those ROI killing tariffs.

They did run into some issues with expanding and growth this year, due to their local municipal government. However if I weren't still okay at home this is where I'd be sending my gear.

Each reward calculates and says how long the 5Nd was.
The last reward was 561hr 1m 30s or about 23 and 1/3 days.

yes not a quite a month but close - my miners went offline Nov 26th so yes 23 days. so the reward I received yesterday will be my last one until I get back online. I have tried to run a miner in my house but after a few minutes the wife was like "hell no, get that thing out of the house" lol

I just noticed in the shift graph page that the time is off by one hour in respect to the graphic itself and the time lines. The rightmost part of the graphic should be the current time, but that is marked two steps behind in the time line (assuming one step is half hour).

I think it takes about an hour to update the chart.  The chart represents 40+days of data so it can't move but so fast Smiley

Another sub-100% block!  Another good day! Cheesy
The shift graph updates once every shift.
Which is (usually) once every 50 minutes (see Help->Payouts)

However, it's a point graph, not a bar graph, so the point shown on the shift graph is half way between the start and end of the shift.
e.g. looking at the 2nd last completed shift right now "bcmqm nodoka"
it started at "Dec‑18 19:40:25" then the next shift "origami" started at "Dec‑18 20:32:08" i.e. that's when "nodoka" finished
Thus the point on the shift graph for "nodoka" is "Dec-18 20:06:16 UTC" which is half way between the two time stamps.

Umm, and what was the point of strangely cheerful comment then?
The 'nice' combo of low luck and low price sucks, and I don't see any reason for the celebratory mood when current luck (one, two, three mo) is still low.
Tell me when that changes.
You are right, low luck and low prices suck and I can't control either of those things.  That last block was faster than expected at 80% which is a win and the pool N average was such that we got 3.5 times our normal payout so that was also a win.  Small victories are welcomed in today's environment.
You know, that is a great point that I hadn't previously considered. A larger "piece of the pie" plus a change in luck will have a significant and positive affect on our wallets!

MINE ON & OUT-LAST THE FAIR-WEATHER MINERS! Grin

Edit: After a recent re-read, I realized some may take offence at my sign-off, which I would like to express some regret about. I am sorry that some of our miners have had to turn off their farms due to the combination of the BTC price drop and a streak of bad luck, and I do hope things turn around so our friends can fire back up their mining operations.

Um, because the pool payout hash rate is still ramping down after that big miner left... 5n PPLNS remember?
Hehe. Haters gonna hate...
really?
Maybe I misunderstood your comment to be like all the other "dog piling" we've had to endure lately. Assuming it was a legitimate question, I imagine you got the drift of fuzzy's answer, so I hope that helped. What he alluded to is actually one of the great parts of PPLNS:

Whoever owned that yuge amount of hashpower didn't forfeit all the rewards they worked toward over the past 5Nd up until the point that they left. They just get smaller and smaller rewards the longer they've been gone--until it becomes zero, of course. On the other hand, we get larger and larger rewards since our individual hashrate becomes an increasingly larger portion of the block reward the longer they've been gone.

Before you know it, our rewards will be 6x what they were, but they'll be 6x as in frequent. Sorry if that feels like it has a negative connotation, but as one of our miner's sig says "math doesn't care about your feelings". Ha! Grin

That will likely never change. Those large miners that left with a deficit to the pool didn’t stick around to see it through(good luck period)  to even it out to near 100%.  Pool hoppers(impatient miners) inadvertanly punish the loyal miners
