Those of us who no longer see Bitcoin from the context of price because it has been proven during its journey will certainly think that it is normal for those who are worried before they realize that Bitcoin is not only a matter of price but more than that.
Yes, but it depends on what topic is being discussed. The OP is talking about bitcoin in an investment context, maybe about the best strategy for generating worth it returns in the long term. This is clearly discussion that has nothing to do with bitcoin use cases as currency, but about the potential of the price of bitcoin in any time frame.
and we know what the OP is discussing so we try to say that those of us who understand Bitcoin's journey from year to year no longer see it from the price context.
So I think it's only natural that those who are still looking at Bitcoin by price are worried.
Therefore I feel that what is conveyed is not at all out of topic and is still related to the OP's intent.
Take another look. Smiley

So far we have been and are still optimistic about Bitcoin for the future so that buying and holding is still an attitude that continues to be applied with each target.
When they are willing to research and study how Bitcoin will be in the future, then those who are worried now will turn into optimists like us.
-snip-

So the conclusion is, buy hold and ignore short term volatility. It is expected and possible for you to generate good returns with the risk if this strategy is implemented.
As for investing in Bitcoin, we are not talking about the short term because that is not at all the concept we want.
In my opinion, the concept of investing in Bitcoin is more suitable in the long term without neglecting the targets to be achieved.

Therefore I want to urge all my fellow bitcointalkers to not lose interest in holding because of these little drops in price  keep holding your Bitcoin .It will definitely boom soon
This is extremely difficult to do, as a lot of people especially these new people who are coming into the Bitcoin market, their emotions sometimes are sensitive or difficult to manage.
Most newbies can relate to this. But if you just manage and train your emotion, you will become stronger and I agree with you OP, holding is better sometimes and it's already proven over time.
But for some people who have goal just to make profits, hodling is not form them as they tend to sell once they already met their price target or goal.

The price didn't drop particularly low, IMO, but those who think it will fall down even more and who aren't willing to wait for lots of months or perhaps over a year for Bitcoin to go on a bull run are reasonable in the desire to cash out now. I don't care about the price as much and try to be more flexible, but I don't judge those who choose to sell, and we can't convince people not to do it, since we can't guarantee that Bitcoin will be up soon.
Whether the people want to hold or sell is upto them, because we can't be sure about the market to turn bullish or stay on the bearish side. Even though we're into close observation of the market we won't be able to precisely state when the price increases and for what reason the market have undergone correction or decreases. This is the riskier part of the market, and the market being unpredictable it is suggested to keep hold.

Seems more like few persons are scared that they may loss to their Bitcoin hodlings due to the recent drops in price of Bitcoin
This is very understandable but as a Bitcoin investor you should know that with the series of price changes Bitcoin has encountered over the years we can say that it rises in value more than it drops .
Therefore I want to urge all my fellow bitcointalkers to not lose interest in holding because of these little drops in price  keep holding your Bitcoin .It will definitely boom soon

That users that made that post most be new to the market because an old users wouldn't make such post. What we are experiencing in the market is just a correction and not a dump yet they're the user is getting scared.

What then would had happened if they were in the market when Bitcoin had dumps that lasted for days, they probably would had sold all their Bitcoin holdings. We only lose when we sell but don't if we keep on holding.

If you sell your Bitcoin now, you have lost as you're selling at the bottom instead of selling at the top when Bitcoin was trading above $60k. It's too late now to sell, just keep on holding and you'll be smiling sooner than you expected.

I have not lost interest in holding bitcoin long term even if I have to see my portfolio drop 10% at a time. I believe in the huge potential of bitcoin in the long term and shouldn't a correction like last week affect my interest. It doesn't impact me financially as long as I still hold the bitcoin, it's just that the conversion value fluctuates.

So far the holders are the real winners regardless of how many ATH moments they have crossed. In fact bitcoin is still very likely to hit new ATH in the coming year [maybe in the next 2-3 years] which should be the reason why you are holding.
Of course, do not lost your interest in holding, the price of bitcoin only down for a little level. I calculated the deceased level only is about 8,9% from the highest level since last month. You can check it from my this pict below..

From the graph, the price may have potential to increase again. As you said that in some years later the price will hit new ATH, that's what make the holder of bitcoin stay on their long term bitcoin investment.

As a beginner, I used to think the same way. Whenever Bitcoin took a dip, I would become anxious and worry that it would never recover. However, I later realized that this fear stemmed from my lack of knowledge and that serious investors don't panic over short-term fluctuations. Unfortunately, many new Bitcoin users share this same mindset and end up losing their Bitcoin and reducing their overall crypto portfolio due to fear-based decisions. Therefore, it is crucial to educate ourselves on Bitcoin and its price movements, using tools such as live charts and historical data to gain a better understanding of its behavior

Same here, and I admit that was a newbie error.  As time goes by, the experience accumulated and how I witness Bitcoin market movement, this kind of Bitcoin dip is normal in a high volatility market.  Bitcoin market had experience worst scenario than this and yet, Bitcoin recovers and even break its ATH at the end.  This also shows that Bitcoin market moves in a cycle pattern and means, if the market goes down, it will eventually goes up and recover.

Aside from that, even though we have invested in Bitcoin at its current ATH ($69k) any losses are just paper losses until we sold our Bitcoin in the current price.  1B is always 1B, we never lost anything unless we sold our holdings.  So yeah if we are aiming for profit, just keep hodling our Bitcoin until the time comes that the Bitcoin market price hits our target selling price.

Personally, I would categorize and divide my investments into two (2) parts: one for short; and one for long-term investment. If my short-term investment profited, I will use 70% of the profits as a reinvestment again for short-term usage and the remaining 30% for long-term HODLing.

This absolutely correct but most time you don't need to reinvest at the peak level after selling your initial investments, what you should do is to wait to see if there will be another great opportunity for the market to drop by 10 percent changes, then you could take it up from there. I don't usually encourage such investment because it may results to lose.. Why lemme explain a bit

E.g, You initially invested $2000 and it sold $2500, meaning you had a profits of $500 and you invested another $1000 or so on, have you considered if market dropped by 30 percent. you have lost about $300 from your initial profits leaving you with a $2200, have you considered if you invested more than $1k then so your lose will also increase. Therefore, I always advised you should a while to monitor the market before investing again.

Snip
If a person has the knowledge and is well informed about the market movement specifically the Bitcoin market, he wouldn't fret seeing Bitcoin price going down by 10%.

This is very common with market there are some people who don't always have patient seeing market going downside ways.

He who give up at this moment has lose it all, as this is the time to have patience and keep holding your Bitcoin as we are approaching 2024.
So many people has talked about Bitcoin halving and how the price will go up then, so why sell your Bitcoin now, instead of waiting to see what halving will result to?

To be very honest with you, Anyone who has been following and studying cryptocurrencies are aware that everytime bitcoin prices comes down crashing it’s probably the best time to invest even more into it. YES it does sound very risky and very unusual advice to ask someone to invest when the market is crashing in front you but we have all seen how bitcoin works and are able to read the patterns. Though I can only imagine how painful it must be for someone new to witness the crash right after they decide to invest into it.

What you should note is that you can't control everyone feelings and emotions towards their asset or investment. There are people who may endure seeing their investment losing 20 to 40 percent without fear but there are some people who may not endure seeing such in there investment and may decides to sell and secure their investment without knowing they are feeding the market.

If a person has the knowledge and is well informed about the market movement specifically the Bitcoin market, he wouldn't fret seeing Bitcoin price going down by 10%.  He would know that this kind of market movement is normal and that eventually the Bitcoin market will recover.  If a person knows that the Bitcoin market is cyclical, he wouldn't panic because he knows he just needs time and the price will eventually recover even increase more than the amount he invested.

In short, it is the knowledge that dictates the emotion of traders and investors.  Confidence in the market also springs out of the knowledge a trader has.  So seeing people panic means he doesn't have enough knowledge about the market he is involved with.

Those who are afraid of the price of bitcoin are not full pro Bitcoin enthusiasts but bypass investors. How can someone be afraid of investing on bitcoin because of the unstable market price? In bitcoin you never lost any unit or amount. The unit you bought is still in the wallet whenever bitcoin goes down and up. The only thing that reduces is your fiat currency and not the one in your Wallet.

Bitcointakers has no problem with the price of bitcoin unless the user is a new user in the forum. All the old users are aware of the nature of the price. They should not be afraid of anything, they should be courageous in it.
I totally agree with this post. Many people are here just with the idea the get rich almost overnight investing very little money, without even understanding bitcoin and what it actually represents and allows you to do. And those the type of people who lose money and then they talk sh!t about bitcoin very time it goes down. I you're a hodler and you understand how bitcoin works there is no way that you'd sell, especially below your buying price.

Different people different understanding but one thing I am certain about base on the post made by the OP of the link provide is that he's one of the Bitcoin investors are that are after making a profit and ignoring the benefit dump trend provide.
From the benefit investors get from Bitcoin I don't think there's a to tell anyone to hold their BTC when halving is coming except if the person is a newbie

At the end of the day, it is all relative- in which everything depends on the investment goal per person.

For example, a person who invests $1,000 may consider such investment as relatively small, while for others investing $1,000 is their peak for the moment. But the end goal remains the same- everyone wants to experience profit and receive huge returns in a given time.

Personally, I would categorize and divide my investments into two (2) parts: one for short; and one for long-term investment. If my short-term investment profited, I will use 70% of the profits as a reinvestment again for short-term usage and the remaining 30% for long-term HODLing.

This panic will be from new investors, I have witnessed bitcoin price fall and have also been at their highest so with this, I have no reason to be panicked. For new investors they should have heard, seen or even read about the volatile nature of Bitcoin.

It isn't easy to not be afraid when you check the market daily especially when you know that you have little bitcoin and the process to buy them was arduous. Well, I think that we do not have any option than to keep holding. We have too much knowledge and faith in bitcoin's potential backed up with historical evidence to chicken out now.

Stay on course guys. Stop looking at the price. Stay consistent with your strategy and keep buy small portions weekly, monthly or whatever way you have decided to buy more. It is when the market price shakes that we must hold for dear life.

As long as this is the result of a strategy which has been thoroughly tested then there is nothing wrong with selling at the moment, however if someone is selling their coins out of panic then this is a completely different scenario, because as you state the drop we are experimenting is of only 10%, and while in other markets such a drop could be disastrous, on this market this is relatively common, and anyone that panics over such a movement probably is not ready to be invested on this market anyway.

I Won't buy bitcoin now but still i have holding 2k$ btc. If you ask me for bear market then i can said that it will possible 2023 year last few months. There are many btc holders here and they are properly waiting bull market for sold btc. You may know btc one best coin for control crypto market, so every altcoins market depending on btc price.
But are you gonna load up more Bitcoin when it drops again? It gonna be a good decision so you can earn a profit when it goes up. I'm one of those people who currently waiting for the bull market.

but I don't judge those who choose to sell, and we can't convince people not to do it, since we can't guarantee that Bitcoin will be up soon.
That's true we should not judge them because we don't know if they struggling like they need cash for their food, bills, and other expenses. Even though there's no guarantee that bitcoin will go up soon, I'm still gonna keep holding and stacking my bitcoin.
