Hey man, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I assure you that this conversation happened. Think whatever you want to think, I don't have time to convince you. This is my life, and the things that transpire in it I have little control over. Particularly with the people that I meet, I never expected to have this conversation. And to shed more light on this we were only in the sauna for 10 minutes because the LA was closing and we continued the conversation out front after 10pm when it closed. The only thing that I can say, is that if this man was a con man he was pretty good one. He had photo evidence of himself with the queen of england, putin, the golden dragon, and so much more. He was showing me crazy pictures of himself in rooms full of gold, and boxes filled with trillions of dollars worth of goverment bonds. I can't make this shit up lol. He did mention he was a truste for all the royal families. All wild stuff, and why the heck would he be telling some random stranger he met in the sauna all this? Beats me man. He did mention he has nobody to talk about any of this, and he felt good about my energy so maybe thats why? lol idk man. But I appreciate your concern here Lucius, i'm trying to live in the real world here and go about my business. Every day the real world gets crazier and crazier!

Of course, why not spice up this fantasy of yours with a few more juicy details - why didn't you ask him to show you pictures of him and Satoshi Nakamoto at the time when they were creating Bitcoin together? I don't know what kind of drugs you're on, but I have no doubt that you made this all up, and some members seem to like your fabrications.

The next time you go to a sauna or a similar place, take a good look around you, maybe you'll see Elvis, or the US president will invite you to lunch at the White House. All this, of course, because of your special energy - sorry, I don't feel it, just a lot of bullshit...

I'm sorry m8 I just can't help but picture you as the Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter and reading your comments in his voice lmao. I do have a pretty wild imagination but I'm not making this stuff up I can assure you and im not on drugs. What I can say is that I didn't even really scratch the surface on all of what was said in this post. Basically this dude claimed to be a financial officer that managed 8 world banks for a trust owned by you guessed it tha nati. The trust operates in the Cook Islands or something and is called the f1ve st4r tru5t. Look it up on Google without my fancy way of jotting it down. There was a script from a US court case on the SWIFT bank archives I dug into after this meeting this bloke for a court case involving the CIA and George Bush Sr.vs. the head of this trust ruling in favor of Bush and the CIA, nobody knows this stuff. Not that that really had anything to do with the contents of his claims about the CIA making BTC but just was interesting to go down that rabbit hole. He said Bush senior was and I quote "Worse than Hitler" He also spoke on covid and how the Vax basically turns people into a cell phone making you a receptor for 5G and how they are literally coding people right now. It changes their DNA, with all the high metal content that's in it, just crazy wild s$!t I could go on lol dude honestly probably was on a week long bender or something. Like I said it was entertaining. Will definitely keep an eye out for Elvis and Satoshi tho!

I have heard one of these versions that the FBI created Bitcoin, but to be honest, it is obvious that this is not true. Judge for yourself, the FBI is just an organization, they have neither motives nor sufficient capacity to create Bitcoin. This is the development of Satoshi and only him.

I think the person that you mate was high on drugs and he was in the Sauna to respire them out by means of his sweats and thoughts. Lolz.
I am not sure if this is entirely true at all or not but the story looks really made up. That man must be just too much into the crypto I guess and sometimes there are things that will go above your passion and you start making up things to believe in them.

How many times has there been an encounter between the CIA and bitcoin in the past in terms of positive news? If I ever heard anything in the past then it is definitely just bitcoin getting banned, bitcoin getting this lawsuit, it's getting taxed 30%, and what not!

Just forget about that story really. It ain't worth it. Anyways in the past there had been hundreds of conspiracy theories and the list just got bigger by yours.

No, CIA nor the NSA did not create the BTC network but there are several projects they are running concurrently under the direct supervision of these agencies and not only them but multiple agencies around the world are running them as well and there are multiple honeypots deployed as well and these are not huge surprises.

Well, the algorithm called SHA-2 was designed by the NSA. But that doesn't mean Bitcoin was created by the NSA.

He told me " Its my job to usher in the next payment system into the world". After talking to him more and more about it, it turned out that this guy was traveling country to country making huge deals in BTC with high ranking government officials. He kept saying that its his job to keep BTC in "Sovereign hands" I found this all very interesting.
What a novel idea to make huge deals in BTC only with high ranking government officials who knows jack shit about the cryptocurrency market  Cheesy. Wise idea would be to empower the bank less rather than bribing the political class for no apparent cause.
Trying saying the same story to a stranger in a bar and see their reaction  Cheesy.

He elaborated some more saying that the CIA was the group that really created BTC.

Has anyone else had any strange encounters like this?

I had many encounters but the topic is not on Bitcoins.  There are lots of smooth talker scatters around the world waiting for an opportunity to scam people.  I even watched a person claiming that he is the son of God that returns to earth.

I heard the rumors about the CIA behind the Bitcoin creation but I do not think it is true if I am about to believe that, I would rather believe that the Illuminati are the ones behind the Bitcoin creation.  One major reason why I do not think it is the work of CIA is the early year of repulsive action of developed nations when it comes to Bitcoin.  And if it is from CIA, powerful country adoption on Bitcoin should be smoothly processed but that is not the case if we look at Bitcoin history.

That was an interesting read there, thanks for sharing. You are lucky that a guy like him told you his secret but maybe he trusted you with this since he said that he saw a good energy with you. He said something about playing both sides of the coin.

I guess that means we should buy at lows and then sell at highs? That was true but I still can't believe if Bitcoin was truly created by the CIA. Since you are already at that situation, why won't you ask for a proof that what he was saying is true and not just a made up story? Never had a strange encounter like that except people can ask me if what is Bitcoin and I will be the one who will explain it to them.

I mean honestly it's a great cover up though isn't it? Then no one would question it...

Maybe they played both sides of the coin there, maybe not, we won't ever know for sure.

I do love a good conspiracy theory, seems like many have come true as of late, particularly the ones surrounding Covid-19

I personally don't see any shred of evidence that the CIA invented Bitcoin. On the other hand, most of what I've read from the initial days points to the fact that the CIA was probably not involved whatsoever in Bitcoin.

It would be interesting if there was some kind of real evidence, even a tiny one, that points in that direction, but there's just nothing.
After so many years if bitcoin was some kind of secret development by the CIA or another security agency it is likely some evidence would have surfaced already, the same goes for the theory that bitcoin was created by a group of people instead of an individual, but the lack of any reliable information seems to indicate that Satoshi was in fact a single person trying to create something revolutionary, however there is little doubt that the story on the OP is really interesting and worth sharing.

I think the best cure is the demonstration of the truth, there are some conspiracies like the flat earth one is hard to "prove" visually, I mean even going to the moon you can't see the sphericity of the earth but some conspiracies can be easily demonstrated and maybe this will help unblock your friend.
Me and other friends have tried this several times and never had success with it. It's like you can't convince him with logic or real evidence. That's why I and other friends recommended that he get treatment, but he refuses. I really have the feeling that all these conspiracy theories have brainwashed him and new theories are constantly being added. This has been going on for over 4 years now. Either way, thanks for your tip!  Smiley

Yes, he does seem to have a mental illness and that's probably why he believes all these theories. In any case, I can't explain it any other way. But he doesn't want to be treated either. I've already talked to him about it. So I can't do much either. Luckily he is not violent or dangerous to those around him. But in doing so, he destroys his own life. That's sad to see.  Sad

I believe that there is a limit to everything and if your friend really thinks that all of those theories are true then we are no longer dealing with a case of a person who has a thought driven by a theory but rather we are dealing with a person who presents severe signs of dementia that can become a danger to the society in which they live.

Yes, conspiracy theories are interesting, but they can also do a lot of damage. A friend of mine completely lost touch with reality as a result. To him we live on a flat earth, we're still in second world war and there's another human race in the ocean and those were just a few small examples. He now lives in a very strange world and is constantly afraid. That's why I find conspiracy theories interesting, but I always look at them critically.  Smiley

I have a couple of conspiracy theories that I have heard before, including Bitcoin being the currency that will be using during the new world order. It sure was entertaining to listen though.

There was also this one time when Bitcoin was associated by some weird android chips that will installed to a human body, and anyone who doesn't have that means he isn't registered as a citizen. An android chip is also equivalent to 1 address per person.

These stories maybe be made up or just conspiracy theories out of being imaginative, but sure it was fun listening to them to pass time.

Certainly, then no one would question it. Either way, I think the US would support Bitcoin more if it were their own work and it doesn't look like it at the moment.  Smiley

Maybe they played both sides of the coin there, maybe not, we won't ever know for sure.
Yes, it would be possible, but as you write, we will never really find out. So I wouldn't worry about it either. Bitcoin is what it is and it doesn't really matter who created it.  Smiley

That's never happened to me and I don't know what to think of the whole story either, but it's very entertaining, even if it sounds a lot like a conspiracy theory. If you meet this man there again, tell him to register here in the forum and provide some evidence as to who created bitcoin.

Either way, I've read a few times that some people believe bitcoin was created by the CIA. But nobody had proof of it and it wasn't really credible either. Anyway, thanks for sharing this story with us.  Smiley

Gavin Andresen went to do a talk to the CIA to do a talk about Bitcoin in 2011: http://gavinandresen.ninja/eleven-years-ago-today

It would be a bit weird if they created it and then they're asking someone else to explain what's it all about.

Yes, that is right. I know about that too.  Smiley
Without wanting to further support this whole story, it's possible that a certain department was responsible for the creation and the rest knew nothing about it. Hence the invitation. That would be an explanation, but you shouldn't take that too seriously. Either way, I don't think the CIA was responsible.  Cheesy

Well, this isn't the first time this theory was brought up. Even in the earliest years of Bitcoin, this was already a theory. Well, who can prove or disprove it? This Satoshi Nakamoto who supposedly developed Bitcoin is still a nobody until today, and will certainly remain so for the next decades unless solid and indubitable proofs are released.

So, that Bitcoin is actually an invention of the CIA or not will probably remain open for a long time. However, with its decentralized design, the moment it was released to the public, it is not theirs anymore. So, it is now moot and academic who Satoshi is, whether Satoshi is the CIA or Szabo or Dorian or CSW or one who's from India or whatever.
