I think these will be great to give to friends as gifts, and to open up the bitcoin community, though ill wait till they drop in price.
I hope the k1 will be instrumental in getting more people into bitcoins..  and if they do have any RoI even better

I am interested in two to five K1's fully assembled with asic chip. Do you know when I could start ordering? And how much it will cost to post to the UK.

Thanks

So on my chart I'm not sure what prices to post for a single unit.  If anyone wants to check out my data please let me know if I have anything off:

(country shipping from?)
On that chart I'm not sure why most of the K16 projects are marked as November shipping but a few are August. Is that based on info from the vendors? I'd be very disappointed if the k16/k1 isn't ready to ship by August.

I posted my expected prices further up thread and I think they're still on target but for my K1 offering I don't expect to turn attention to production until after I've completed development (not much choice on that). It should still be before August, hopefully weeks before.

Just a cross post for those not following the K16 thread.

K1 test boards are here and I'll be working on assembling a few for testing next. The firmware is mostly done and I'm expecting by the time the ASIC samples arrive the kinks will be worked out and I can focus on just the ASIC data signal issues.

Cool!  It's nice to see these things coming into focus so quickly.

I hope the ant squished onto the left side unit is not electrically conductive Smiley

look for an exsys ex-1177hmv

24V backup power, weird.

I use http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051PGX2I/ref=oh_details_o04_s01_i03?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for my miner.  Don't think I paid $28 for it but perhaps.

question:

can the usb stick be slim enough to fit at every port on a usb hub like this one so all ports can be used?
I won't be slimming down the board at this stage. I mentioned it early on and no one showed interest. I wouldn't recommend running a heap of K1s this way. Much better to start with a K16 board and only populate as many chips as you have. But if you have to then choose a USB hub where the ports are oriented the other way, or only populate half (the cheap ones can't handle more), or use the daisy chain connector to chain all K1s off a single USB with only power supplied via USB, eg. a power bar with small USB power blocks.

These are available cheaply on ebay. No USB hub required.

Easier with this one:
