With all the negativity surrounding Avalon right now, it's gratifying to see so many positive posts on this thread.

I just wanted to add my personal thanks to BKKCoins for all the work he's put into this project. I know it hasn't turned out they way we all wanted thanks to Avalon. But that should in no way lessen the accomplishment of this project. BKKCoins achieved much with very limited resources, and I applaud and thank him for it!

Also, I want to say that watching this thread has created a strong interest in me to explore the world of electronics. I've been inspired by this thread to start learning the basics, and have completed quite a few simple projects over the past few weeks. Thank you for that Smiley

Sometimes we create something that doesn't work out the way we think it would. Maybe (as in this case), the project is overcome by external factors we have no control over. But often something completely unexpected comes from the project. If *I'VE* been inspired by this effort, who know how many others have been as well?

IMO, this project represents so much more than just Bitcoin miners. It represents courage, skill, determination, and community collaboration. I'm thrilled and honored to have been able to witness this amazing feat.

So again, to everyone involved in this effort, I'd like to say "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart. It's truly been an honor and a privilege. Smiley

Very well said, and very true!
All that was archieved here will not be forgotten!

Very well said indeed! I fully agree, thank you Bkk for your efforts!
Todays news on Yifu's intentions for full refunding is a big hit to take, yet still I think some boards might be produced. I really hope you may return to the forum and share your ideas on the future and continue and enjoy to do DIY dev work.

The hope remains eternal possibly a huge bump in BTC price in the future could make building Klondikes worthwhile to actually build but that is a risk one would have to weigh for oneself. The alternative for the chip holder however is quite bleak and refunds and lawsuits could be the only option going forward.

But... as the freedomno1 points out we have gained a lot here through this project. I hope we see more in the future.
Yes, I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet on the klondikes...there still could be a break in all of this, or something else around the corner. I guess one day at at a time and keep the klondike alive. Somehow we all just need a better connection to getting the chips,,,besides the clown we are all dealing with now...I dont even want to say his name...lol fuyi,,hows that Smiley

Learning the troll avoidance button :)
I get this feeling of doom and gloom around some of the threads lately.
Hope remains beautiful people  Smiley
Aside from the obvious experience and connections this and other projects have created ~ ~
focusing on finding ways to slash the power can bring new life to this work and will carry over to future projects.

I still come here everyday and read the progress.
I'm proud of everyone here that is working hard to make this shit happen.
Remember, if this is going to be done ~ keep doin' it motha' fuckin' awesome ~ screw anything else ~ kick this projects ass people, we are just gettin' warmed up Smiley

I learnt from the minds that congregate here many ideas on economics, politics, design and development.
The knowledge given here on development is invaluable to me.
Your right sometimes hope is whats needed.
Believe in others.

Good post and thank you.. we are still here!

I know that I have learned tremendous amounts about IC and PCB and FPGA and Cgminer.. and the list goes on since I came here for the K1/K16 rush... the things I learned will never be taken from me by Avalons lack of ROI. Money isn't everything IMHO.

Good day all!

Want privacy? Use Monero!
Suggest you go look at the current posts by YiFu/Bitsyncom.  Chips are not going to be forthcoming, it sounds like.

That is if you choose to refund. This is quite complicated psychology. What if most ppl choose to refund? Then I better keep my chips order! Then nobody would choose refund, and yifu keeps on stalling..lol

indeed, i hope for a lot of refunds so I get my chips fast Wink

Yes, the goldrush spirit has left the Klondike I guess, as it is the case for all Avalon based projects around. Yet I too still check this thread daily. Depending on how Avalon and the groupbuys handle things (referring to https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3029465), we might still see chips one day to do damagecontrol....

Have not been following this thread too closely. But I think Bkk already has a pretty stable design mid July?
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2739620

So what's change since then causing problems with ppl following the reference design?

I looked some days ago K16 board and U24 NOR clock pulse generation circuit look like it dosn't generate clock pulse from first bit in reporting line. Am I right?
If reporting protocol is same than avalon-ref send0/send1 first bit may loose. But reporting protocol is not documented at all..

It is quite easy to calculate missing bit as firmware do but if this is real bug it should fix in hw?

I asked from BKK pm, but not reply yet. Hope I am wrong Wink

As posted in my assembly thread, Colin's got a fully populated K16 passing the ktest utility. However, it disconnects from cgminer after just a few minutes. His hunch is that it's a software error. Last I heard from him, he was planning on getting in contact with Chris to figure things out.

Ceramic Capacitor VJ0603Y682KXXCW1BC 6.8nF - Factory lead time 8 weeks.. none ordered yet.
If anyone knows a place to order the back ordered Capacitor..

Try VJ0603Y682KXACW1BC, just a higher voltage rating I think.
