Both are good actually but I prefer binance for now, because the volume of trading in binance is really big and volume on kucoin is really small. Kucoin is also good though, easy to trade, fast deposit and withdrawal too but the minus is the volume is quiet low but i think Kucoin can become big in the future.
First, I would like to comment as someone who uses both services. Both services are two leading services within the sector and both services have various advantages within themselves. For example, Binance has an easier interface as a convenience, but Kucoin is also a service with a variety of beauties for ease of use. On the other hand, while Binance offers a wider range of options for language support, Kucoin unfortunately offers fewer options. As to trade volume and ease of trade, I can say that there is sufficient trade volume capacity in both services and that trade is easily done in both services. For that reason, it is neither true nor fair to fully compare both services. On the other hand, I believe that benefiting from both services will be the right choice.
Kucoin better.... 
Those who preferred kucoin to binance, I can state that their are opinions are subjective not objective. looking at the article of the OP, the idea is in black and white, and binance has the upper hand.
For me both exchanges are ok ..im using kucoin and binance but most of the time im in binance exchange..it is more convenient to me coz I downloaded the apps and I didnt sign it off so that wherever I go whatever I do I can just simply click on it and see the status of my holdings..while kucoin is also good but I cant download it because after I attempted to download the response said it may harm to my device..
So far of all the exchanges I have used I also like Binance the best. No hick ups and I feel save to have some coins on there, relatively speaking anyways. I hadn't tried Kucoin yet, but I will soon. I find it's always good to have a few exchanges so that you can transfer funds if one starts having problems or feel sketchy.
I've been using Binance for the last couple of months and I would say that I have no problems with the services other than the frequent suspension of coins during periods of "high congestion." I hope they beef up security measures and decentralize the exchange.
You have discussed two exchange markets that are themselves in the top. It is very difficult to say because both are very popular. And everyone has the acceptability of these markets. But when I need it I use Binance.
Binance is my favorite, I rarely go to Britrex anymore or any other exchanges unless Binance just doesn't offer a specific pair. I have been meaning to sign up for Kucoin since they have a lot of new coins that aren't on Binance,
i prefer kucoin than binance.. The sad truth about listing in binance is like the final judgement or destination of a coin/token.. Ive seen alot of coin after listing in binance it dump so hard that some coin barely recover their ath.. I dont like that exchange somthing fishy
The dump is not actually a problem because if the coin is really strong, it can recover and it's possible in binance due to great volume.Kucoin is just like other exchanges, not so big volume and it cannot beat the volume of binance which is steady and growing.

I think that Kucoin can be considered as Binance rival only if they will get some exclusive listing and they will strongly increase trading volumes.
Kucoin is better because it did not get any problem and issues in the past while binance has an alleged issue before where investors lose their coins in this exchanger.
Binance imposes 50% discount of the trading fee using its BNB Token, whereas Kucoin only 30% discounted rate maximum
I think that Kucoin can be considered as Binance rival only if they will get some exclusive listing and they will strongly increase trading volumes.
My view from the early days of trade coin i was impressed by the Binance floor more because: Transaction fees are cheap, stable and secure, easy identification, good technical team. Fast web support, multiple coin support, hybrid BNB coin. I see Kucoin seem to copy Binance next to that high kucoin transaction fee.
Very satisfied with binance service. Their CS was very fast responses compared to other crypto exchange.
Stop-loss features are also available at binance.
For Kucoin usually arbitrage hobbyists and bounty hunters will use the service from Kucoin. This is very clear because Kucoin lists costs cheaper than binance for new coins.
And serving is the difference between Kucoin and Hitbtc, this is the reason the arbitrage chose Kucoin.
That in my opinion, there may be many other opinions from users of this forum.

I never tried Ku coin exchange, But already i tried binance and bittrex both is really good and low fee. But after you suggest about kucoin, i have decided to use Kucoin exchange.
These two exchanges are very great and good exchanges in my own opinion. Kucoin is good as it has good interface. Binance is better for me as it has good volume, nice interface and also good support though I havent used kucoin support service before.

Kucoin naturally is the best option for project wanting to list on centralized cryptocurrency exchange market. Binance is quite expensive and the demand for listing is quite high. Trading on Kucoin is simple as well though Binance UI is one of the best in CEX!
I think Binance still better than Kucoin because of these reason:
1. Higher volumn
2. Less sh*t coins, avoid you to buy worthless coins
3. Higher share from BNB

Previously i thought both of the exchanges, Binance and Kucoin , were good but recently there has been some fud spreading that Kucoin is not safe and it can scam anytime. Although i know this is not true and only a fud , but still many people opt out of it and many sold their coins in loss. I still support of the exchanges but its better we play safe and avoid Kucoin, incase any mishap happens as indicated in the fud article.
