I just got an email from Blockchain.com.  They are giving away $25 worth of their Stellar (XLM) coin, but in order to claim it you have to submit a selfie and a government identification card.

I don't have any suspicions about Blockchain, I believe they're legit, but I'm always hesitant to spread my personal information around.

How many of you folks plan to claim your $25?

I did get the stellar tokens on my blockchain.com wallet but i never had a KYC on their process.
All i did was to create a wallet account and put my email on the airdrop button.
I waited for almost 3 weeks and surprised that i got the XLM on my wallet. NO KYC REQUIRED!!!

Apparently some of people already claim it and get $25 on XLM but actually i do know this bounty program several weeks ago but i don't dare to submit my KYC because in my view those amount of money is not worth to spread my KYC to particular site although blockchain is obviously legit but i fear someday our data will leak and stolen by hacker and it is possible because it was already happened on facebook

Totally agree. $25 is not worth sending your vital info to someone you don't know.
We don't know where will it end up to or who will gonna use your info.
Though they seemed to be a trusted website but better be safe than sorry.

I filled out this form more than two months ago, I uploaded my ID card, and took a live picture with my camera, I still haven't been approved, for me it was a scam so I gave away personal information without getting anything back.
However I still hope to get an email with approval one day...
Blockchain.info/com has been online for a very long time. They have been providing their service from the beginning. It is actually one of the decent online web wallets (though i don't recommend anyone to use web wallets as they are never safe) out there. You even have access to your private keys. They won't be scamming you or risking their reputation for just $25. Have you tried contacted their support or resend your infromation?

Becareful it may be scammers trying to steal your information.. why would they wanna give you money just to get your personal information.. this seems suspicious
Nothing suspicious. They are actually giving away free Stellar coins to those who verify their identification. Verifying your ID also opens up various features on their wallet.

I do not know why people are afraid to give their data especially to such a well-known company. The question is different. Are they really going to pay this money? You need to look for more information about it.

Their giveaway hasn't ended yet? I have been seeing this Stellar giveaway for a while. Honestly, I wouldn't be giving away my information for a site that I do not use and for only $25. Its actually not worth it if you do not use their wallet.
But they do have their reason for the KYC thing. I guess this is their only way to stop people from claiming multiple times.

I have passed the KYC and I am waiting for my tokens. I mean first of all it is a great deal and secondly blockchainwallet is a trusted source, so I do not see any problems. But you should be careful because there are a lot of scammers that are trying to fish your data.

It is not worth sharing your personal data for 25$. Even if everything seems right now and the company is legal. In the case of hack or leak data easily lose a lot more than you get.

i will do it, when that is really really right will giving, maybe that is just marketing of develop to distribution their coins, after do that maybe their can make high volume and price, whatever their strategy when its free coins i will do
All these coins that Stellar paid during the Airdrops - immediately sold out. I think this is a very wrong marketing move.

I have sent my personal data but until now I have not received the XLM. I don't know what happened but I see there are many people who are the same as me. already verified Kyc but haven't got the Airdrop coin yet.
I also haven't received xlm after verification, just waiting for distribution, maybe in the queue because there are so many who join from various countries, just be patient.

I think in this bear market 25$ has more value than just 25$. If you have more confidence about project it will not serious issue of submitting KYC. I think already we have to submit KYC for so many usages on internet. So I think it is better to get 25$ by submitting KYC.

Yeah, now it's 25$, but in a few years it could become more, much more. There are around 13x between current price and ATH, so if XLM gets back to ATH 25$ will turn to 325$. And I think it will go much higher, so it's not so bad offer Wink

I see no reason to doubt sending our personl details for this legit airdrop but for 25$ i guess this isn’t enough to even buy a dinner for two lol

I guess maybe someday I’ll buy this idea but for today i am not in desperate position to claim something this amount in exchange for my identity..anyway i never tried joining or participating any airdrop ever since I joined crypto community, because i see only scamming happening in that area

Grin Oh great deal. You can earn good. Well, in the presence of other people's documents) Well, for $ 25, I would not want to reveal my identity. Although it is very interesting why conduct such a drop.

I think that this is a good way to distribute coins among a large number of people. Personality verification will help eliminate the receipt of rewards for those who use multi-accounts to get more rewards

This has already been done and nothing is new about it. I did not participate in it, but those who did it long time ago, are yet to get their promised XLM. I got to know through some of my friends who participated. Well, it might still be paid, because blockchain would want to protects its integrity.
As regards the issue of kyc, if you feel you can easily give out your personal details, you may participate, but i guess it should be closed by now.

Actually i didn't do kyc because i thought that was fake. But it wasn't after all, i am very surprised. Still i don't understand why are they doing such a thing, also it caused a price dump for stellar.
