Even though Barcelona performance is uncertain, I think progress in the UCL is enough to support them to qualify for the semifinals. They have shown a great game and beat PSG at the opponent home ground. This shows that Barcelona currently has quite a big opportunity and the task is easier because in the second leg they are playing at home. Even though Barcelona scheme did not win the UCL trophy, Xavi is still considered to be a coach who has made many changes amidst Barcelona messy financial condition. Before this game u had mentioned the fact that Girona may not be able to penetrate the defense of atletico as they have a relatively fair strength within their defense such that i don't trust girona to be tactical enough to get pass that defense in such a way it will give them victory. They actually tried their best but then they were contending a good team with a better form and good strength so loosing out is actually expected.

Atletico were playing from home and i think it was actually enough for them to see as an advantage because playing from home will gat your morale high since you will be having majority of the stadium filled with your fans and you wouldn't want to perform any less before them , that asides, Atletico has got a better tactical approach as compared to girona and that's why i mentioned sometimes ago that Girona basically uses an advantage of winning smaller teams and then getting to gather points from them while they try to draw or probably loose to bigger team.

This tactics has helped them a long way to the point they are now on the table and so they literally try to maintain it but then it becomes obvious that they are just little above average whenever they get to meet bigger team that has got a better form and strength than they actually do so i still don't actually get to rate them as a strong team yet but just within t he average and are most likely getting to improve beyond average.

In fact, Girona played well in this match, so it was natural that Girona managed to score a quick goal in the 4th minute of thismatch. As a team that is in the top four, Girona's performance still looks good in this match too, so of course Girona also has the ability to maintain its position in the top four. Because, even though Atletico managed to beat Girona too, in fact there is still a four point gap between Girona and Atletico. It was a quite disappointing that Girona was not much on a good shape on that match, although at the beginning of the match they played really well especially from the first minute and the moment they scored the first early goal on the fourth minutes I was thinking their performance will increase and they will utilize the opportunity to secure more goals against Atletico madrid but little did I no that the match will turn out this way for Girona.

It has really become crystal clear that Girona performance has really changed, although I no that they have proving their points to everyone that they have the performance to go far and also to qualify to the next season champions league but losing matches could easily affect them on their current position of the league table, however they are even Lucky that they have already gotten a very points before now if not Atletico madrid would have taking over the third position after wining them today.

It is quite possible for Girona to be pushed out of the top 4 positions considering their declining performance.
Atletico Madrid's success in turning things around and winning the match was not a big surprise because they deserved to win this match after playing much better than Girona, regardless if Girona was able to score a goal first at the start of the match, Atletico Madrid's performance and game were much better. .
