Barcelona have struggled to challenge Real Madrid this season as much as they use to do over the years and that's because of the club have been experiencing financial issues which have restricted them from signing as much world class players players as they should've signed in the transfer market for the past four transfer windows. But despite all the challenges that Barcelona is facing, it's not stopped them from being Real Madrid's biggest rivals in the league. Barcelona won the league title last season but are very unlikely to repeat it again this season because Real Madrid who happens to be at the top of the league at the moment is in a very good form and ahead of them with eight points.
Barcelona's biggest problem at the moment is finding a manager that'll replace their current manager Xavi Hernandez who'll leave the club after the end of the current season. Getting manager that'll be able to manage Barcelona as much as Xavi Hernandez have done since he took over the managerial position at the club will be very difficult if you ask me.

Xavi has got a fair rotational strategy that will most definitely help them be able to get to scale through the period of time when their key players has gotten injuries but then it isn't such that can actually be really maintained long enough as they will most likely get to the point where they will exhaust their rotation and they will have to get their key players to be able to maintain productivity and a good position on the table too aswell.

Talking about catching up with the points they did failed to get at the beginning of the season which has gotten them the second position they are currently, is something they can't really achieve again this season probably until maybe next season because the point difference both teams has got , is way very far such that the team at the top can never get to allow them come to get ahead of them because they have been very far away from them much more that they are may just have to let go till next season when they will have all the time to fix all their weakness and get a better form to stand against other teams in the la Liga.

But then Barcelona happened to be the defending champions of these la Liga and so much was actually expected of them this season and they have been able to still try their best to make it to the second position despite all the ups and downs so they could be said to have tried their best aswell and are able to get to the point they are and will still qualify for the champions league again by next season, the only difference is in the fact that the point difference is just too much.

Athletic Bilbao scored a goal as expected and were able to play penalties and win that game with difficulty.
Final score was 1 - 1 and 4 - 2 after penalties thanks to their goalkeeper saving one.
Athletic Bilbao were able to get that title after like 30 years not winning it so they should be happy especially that they were being kicked from the competition after losing in it.

In essence, Barcelona only needs to focus on securing full points in the remaining matches ahead, regardless of how Real Madrid finishes this season. Points will be deducted automatically if Real Madrid loses or draws, and what Barcelona needs to do is maintain its own consistency. The El Clasico match is one of the deciding ones, of all the remaining matches this season, and the match will be a tough test for both teams. Expecting Real Madrid to drop points makes sense, but it won't be useful if Barcelona themselves also drop points.

Ancelotti really understands the pressure towards the end of the season, so he will not underestimate any team in maintaining their chances of winning a trophy this season. Barcelona is still a big team that has the potential to disrupt Real Madrid path to winning trophies this season, Xavi squad will continue to apply pressure until the season ends. Even though they are currently hit by a financial crisis, Barcelona is able to appear dominant as a tough competitor for Real Madrid. If Juan Laporta can bring Barcelona out of this difficult situation, Real Madrid will again find eternal rivals with equal strength in La Liga.

Exactly, Barcelona had to use another strategy when several of its main players were injured, this is what made it difficult for Barcelona to be first. At least Barcelona has tried to give its best to stay in second place on the standings. There is no longer a chance for Barcelona to catch up on the points they are left behind. I think it's not a surprise that Barcelona having big improvement lately. The drop in performances in the early season is proven by the injuries of their important players while they don't have a good quality of squad depth. Those injuries made Xavi has to put some players out of their original positions that hinder their tactical prowess. Having full team of regular starters makes Xavi easy to execute his tactical plan flawlessly.

The gap of 8-points may be a bit far to chase a strong Real Madrid side, but el clasico game can be a turnaround that can provide the chance to closing the gap. Both Barcelona and Madrid have UCL fixture to focus, but the pressure is more on Madrid because they have to face a really strong team, defending champion Manchester City,. Maybe this could be a slight advantage for Barcelona to keep pushing their chance to chase Madrid. I think Barcelona having less pressure because losing in R8 won't be a big blow for Barcelona for now.

After the first El classico this season, it felt like Real Madrid got the hack on how to get Barcelona through out this season and after since that meeting, Barcelona has been unable to win Real Madrid and even their performance generally literally dropped a d they have not been have the very good kind of results that could earn them the la Liga like last season. La Liga is actually no way compared to the performance of Barcelona this season, there are other teams that have been even more consistent than Barcelona in the la Liga this season.

Even with the champions league which i felt would have been a whole lot of distraction to Madrid but then they still performance so well in the champions league and still do same in the la Liga too making them finding a good balance around both league games but Barcelona i don't even know if i would sayt hey are focused on the champions league because actually their performance in the champions league is very good but i still have doubts they would win.

I don't think that Ancelotti will throw away Rodrigo, because he is still very young, and have a bright future ahead of him. If you watch out his recent matches, he has being scoring goals, and that alone has shown that he is a quality player, and worth to remain in Real Madrid, so that Madrid will have all good players both in the field and on the bench. I see Ancelotti as a good and experienced coach who knows the value of players, this is why I don't think that Rodrigo is the right player to leave for Mbappe.

Joselu can leave for Mbappe, because I didn't see any much impact that he added to the club this season, since he was on a trial in the team, amd he could not prove himself worthy of staying in Real Madrid.
