Madrid have quality players in their squad. Madrid have a strong squad as well as an experienced coach like Ancelotti. On the other hand, Girona has performed very well this season, but this team lacks experienced players. In both matches against Madrid we saw that Girona's players were not confident enough. More importantly than the fact that they lost, we saw their performance drop off badly in the two games against Madrid. They cannot create any good attack opportunities. Maybe Girona will return to the truck in the upcoming matches. But the chances of seeing a Girona team at the top of the table are now slim. Girona is 5 points behind Madrid.
When yesterday Girona faced Real Madrid, my expectation was that Girona would at least not concede more than 2 goals. Then in that match I also hope that Girona can score at least one goal. But in reality, none of my hopes for Girona came true. In fact, in that match, Girona was slaughtered by Madrid with a score of 4-0. So after I watched the Madrid and Girona match, it is now apparent how different the differences are. In essence, as you said, Real Madrid is indeed superior to Girona in terms of player quality. Plus, the mentality of Girona players is still not completely strong. As a result, the performance of Girona players did not reach their maximum potential.
Even though this season, I personally really want to see other clubs (aside from Madrid and Barca) reach the top of the standings. However, it seems that this will not happen this season, because Madrid will definitely continue to progress, leaving other clubs behind them.
Apart from Real Madrid who succeeded in overthrowing Girona, the opposite happened to Barcelona. In the match between Barcelona VS Granada, Barcelona was unable to beat the team which was actually in the relegation zone. Xavi's team could only bring home a draw and one point. So this season Barcelona has indeed experienced a very significant decline in performance. Maybe what I have observed is that currently Barcelona does not have very good cohesiveness. I don't know what the problem is, but it seems that until the end of this season, it is likely that Barcelona will continue to experience a very significant decline in performance.
