Atletico Madrid was not expected to compete for La Liga trophy when the season started. But by beating Real Madrid in the Madrid derby, they proved themselves as a strong team, yes they are still strong in this season. So they are competitive enough to compete with Real Madrid and Barcelona for La Liga trophy. I see it is good for La Liga as being more competitive means more attractive and exciting too.
I'm not so sure, Real Madrid and Barcelona may not be the same teams as they were 10 years ago, but Atletico Madrid have arguably experienced the same decline too, they look far from as good as when they last won the league. This season I am not sure that Atletico Madrid will be Laliga competitors even though they beat Real Madrid a few weeks ago.

Because during the Derby match, the atmosphere is definitely different, this is a match between prestige and self-esteem, so in my opinion, even though Atletico Madrid managed to beat Real Madrid, it doesn't necessarily mean they will be a strong team and can continue to be consistent every match. Because to be a title challenger, Lailga has to play consistently every game, and I don't see that with Atletico Madrid. This is just my opinion. This season's La Liga will still be a competition between Barcelona and Real Madrid where the points will not be too much different until the end of the season.
To become LaLiga champions you don't just have to be able to beat Real Madrid, but with all the matches this season you also have to win more, will Atletico Madrid be in all the matches? Roll Eyes

I feel this team will have a tough time in LaLiga, even though at the start of the season it wasn't too bad, the team only lost once and drew once.

Yeap, that's right... every derby match is bound to be fierce considering that this is a rivalry match between them, it's not about who is the strongest, but in that match who wins and who will be champion this season.

What about Girona who is able to be in the top circle while Atletico Madrid is only 3 points behind, how can the Girona team trend upwards even though last season they were not as good, is it possible for this to be a title contender? It feels impossible. Grin

Bellingham, Anceloti's most successful purchase of the season. Young is dominant and he shows great confidence. Next season, if it is true that Mbappe comes, maybe Real Madrid will be very strong. If you add Guller, maybe Madrid will play better. An early-season injury problem does not seem to have seen Madrid struggle. Tchouameni also performed quite well, he became a substitute defender. This is because Nacho cannot play due to card accumulation penalties.

Jude Bellingham is a great palyer and regardless of his age, he had good performances while he was a young and inexperienced player in Real Madrid, but so far in Real Madrid Bellingham has an effective role and he was the reason for Real Madrid won many games, I think Real Madrid will have problems if this palyer gets injured because the other palyer in this team can't fill the place of Bellingham.

At the age of 20, Jude Bellingham has succeeded in becoming attached to the Real Madrid game. In my opinion, young people with abilities like this are rare, for this reason Jude Bellingham will be increasingly prioritized by Florentino Perez and it is certain that his contract will continue to be extended. Playing for a club as big as Madrid and being able to steal attention with Jude Bellingham's playing instincts should be appreciated. Plus, if next season we are able to bring in Mbappe, the front line will improve drastically.

After all, at the age of 20 that Bellingham has managed to equal Ronaldo' record at Real Madrid as well, about first 10 matches and 10 goals for Real Madrid. In fact, Bellingham has a better assist record than Ronaldo about the first 10 matches at Real Madrid. Therefore, it is clear that Bellingham will be a Real Madrid player for the long term . Because anyway, so far every player who has a great contribution to Real Madrid, then of course that player will continue to play at Real Madrid throughout his career. Unless, when he gets old, then the key Real Madrid player will leave in the future because that happened in the history of Real Madrid.

A few days ago, Sevilla fired their coach, Jose Luis Mendilibar, due to frequent bad results in the several matches they have played so far. From 8 matches, Sevilla only won 2 times and this really threatened their position in the relegation zone. Even though the season is still long, Sevilla certainly doesn't want them to continue to be at the bottom of the table and this time Sevilla seems to have started to find a potential new coach, namely Diego Alonso and reportedly Sevilla is currently still in the negotiation stage to convince him to become Sevilla's new coach.

Source: https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1711680150243258570

Mendilibar was lucky enough in helping sevilla to won the europa league last season. I's time for management to change him even though sevilla was winning europa league trophy under him but mendilibad didn't even able to give promising future for sevilla.
The club had been showing the worst start in this season. I could not even believe how sevilla was staying at the relegation zone. The gameplay of the club in the la liga is far different compared with another competition.

It's likely that if we will see a big change to happen for sevilla after mendilibar will be replaced by a new coach. Im waiting such moment to come. It's caused by sevilla was in disastrous season under mendilibar.
Recruiting a new coach is a way to give best solution for the players.

With the current conditions, putting Atletico Madrid the same as last season is clearly something wrong because looking at what happened at the beginning of this season it can be said that Atletico Madrid's performance is very good and compared to the previous 2 seasons this is the best start of the season for them.
I think this could be a good reference and we can put Atletico as one of the candidates to be a compettor with Barcelona and Madrid.
Although there is not too much change because it is only one club, it is a very good thing because with this competition will be more pronounced.
La Liga is a difficult league and only elite teams can take charge of what to win and earning good points in games other than average clubs that keeps struggles till the very end. Atletico Madrid stats, 6W 1D 1L is an improvement for th3 team, presently ranked 4th in the ongoing La Liga campaign, definitely having good taste of the game. are always in good shape every season, absolutely no time for them to relent because Diego Simeone have gingered his team to go harder this season for significant trophies. Los Colchoneros possess quite incredible players that are keen on lifting trophies for the club.

Over the years the competition for the Laliga trophy has been between two clubs which are Realmadrid and Barcelona,  Atletico Madrid most end up 3rd runner up or 4th and has maintained that place for a while, well we don't know what this season would unfold cause they're currently in the 4th place and 6 points behind the league leaders therefore it's not too late for them to catch up but I doubt if it would be possible or easy based on Realmadrid and Barcelona's performance this season.

Well they tried in winning the debut game against their arch rivals Realmadrid I can't wait to see how they'll do when they face Barcelona this season if they beat both teams then I'll know they're really prepared to try win the league this season.

I agree with that, I believe that it's either one or the other and because of that the odds should show that. I get that ATM is also a good club but I do not think that they have the experience they need to be champions again, they did that recently and that was a good period for them but right now both other teams are doing wonders with amazing new young talent as well.

Yes Real Madrid need to fortify their front line more although Jude Bellingham is doing excellently in his position and getting the deserved attention, but a yong striker to compliment him will help the team a long way, and kylian mbappe who is a young striker and is willing to leave his team by the winter window will best fit that position, if Madrid could get him over I think they will have a better strike force strong enough to be formidable in the la Liga.
Real Madrid don't lack of money and they are ready to buy Mbappe two summers ago but PSG just refused to let Mbappe go. This summer, Real Madrid hesitated to buy Mbappe with expensive fee when he only has one year in the contract with PSG and almost agreed personal terms with Real Madrid.

With their reluctance to make a bomb on the transfer market, they did not buy him and considered Joselu as their temporary solution. So far Joselu performance is acceptable, not too good but not too bad. In fact Real Madrid need more goals from Joselu and he must try more. Jude suddenly rose as a brightest star in Real Madrid and carried their attacking system but he won't be able to do this forever. Even a striker can lose his goal scoring streak and Jude is only a midfielder.

I agree with that, I believe that it's either one or the other and because of that the odds should show that. Girona is another team to watch out for as they are in their best form and is currently a strong contender in the la liga, they are currently at the second position and hopefully they finish at that position they will qualify for the next UCL, they will aswell form a strong opposition to Madrid but If Madrid fortify their strike with the signing of mbappe by winter they will definitely be stronger over Girona.

However, if for example Girona is able to consistently win and or at least get a draw when playing against mediocre teams, then it is very possible for Girona to be able to secure a European ticket. Because so far, Girona has only lost when playing against Real Madrid and drew against Real Sociedad. Therefore, if Girona can consistently beat other mediocre teams then it is clear that Girona will have a good chance of being able to compete in the top zone throughout this season. Great of course for Girona, because no one thought Girona would be able to recover as well as it is now. Even though they still don't have a squad quality above average, but Girona managed to be in the top zone in the La Liga standings this moment.
You're right, they need to be consistent if they want to participate in a major European tournament next season, they started very well this season and that's they're were they're currently, getting 3 points against stronger teams like Atletico Madrid  or Barcelona would be very tough for them because the above stated clubs has got a good squad with more talented player, and Girona would not stand a chance against them.

There next match is against Almeria who are at the bottom of the league and expect Girona to win against them where home or away cause the Almeria team are very low on the confidence level and that's what Girona should capitalise on.

For me Atletico Madrid is on the best run here having won 2 great games, both at home against Real Madrid which gave them a huge boost in confidence and they have continued winning by beating this last weekend another very good performing team lately,Real Sociedad.

Barcelona with the draw of yesterday game should have the odd of 3.5 at least as they are three points behind Real Madrid and they are on equal points or just one point disadvantage to have that low odd nearly identical to Real Madrid.
Yes, Barcelona is clearly overrated. I wonder what the bookmakers expect after Barcelona suffers in games with outsiders and loses points in them, that Barcelona will win all head-to-head matches against Real and Atlético? This is naive (although this can happen, I do not deny it, but the likelihood of this is low). By the way, on October 28th the Barcelona - Real Madrid game will take place and we will see how right (or wrong) the bookmakers are.
I wouldn't say overrated, do not get me wrong I am not Spanish so I do not really care which one of them wins, but aside from Real Madrid, the only other team that can win it is Barcelona, and these odds are saying the same thing, they all show that Real will be the title winners, and if Real somehow fails and something happens, Barcelona will be the one.

I agree with that, I believe that it's either one or the other and because of that the odds should show that. I get that ATM is also a good club but I do not think that they have the experience they need to be champions again, they did that recently and that was a good period for them but right now both other teams are doing wonders with amazing new young talent as well.

Girona presence in the top four of the standings is very surprising, especially since they topped the standings before suffering their first defeat to Real Madrid. It is too early to assume that Girona will be able to finish in the European zone, La Liga has only gone through 9 games, they still have a lot more to go, including facing other strong teams.
I know anything can happen in football, but to achieve their goals they must always consistently maintain their performance. There are still regular clubs that often finish in the European zone that are ready to provide competition for Girona. Clubs such as Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad, Real Betis and Bilbao will be Girona toughest competitors in fighting for a place in the European Zone.

I don't give Girona much confidence in competing in the European zone until the end of the season. I know they are in their best form so far, but the time will come when they experience a drop in form against strong teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and several others.

Girona has so far been able to consistently win matches because the opponents they have faced are not too strong. The players have gained good confidence and this really helps Girona to gain a lot of points. Their performance against Real Madrid looked ordinary, only in the first 5 minutes they managed to create several good opportunities. But anyway, I like their not-so-closed appearance against a team as big as Real Madrid. They played openly and attacked and Girona even managed to beat Real Madrid in terms of ball possession percentage.

Xavi Hernandez is attempting to turn Barcelona into an enormous force undefeated squad in La Liga, and despite allowing numerous goals, they are unbeaten this season. He will concentrate only on his team, as injuries has been an ongoing problem for them this season, amounting to a downturn in performance. Barcelona is competing for the La Liga title and is considered the favorite to win it this season. They would face the same formidable opponents as in previous decades, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. The blaugrana defendlines is the team's current weakness; they are not active enough to confront opponents when territory is invaded.
I can only say that Xavi will improve his defenders as La Liga progresses, but so far they haven't been too bad either. Araujo hasn't been in his best shape since he came back from injury, but I'm sure Araujo will get into his best shape again if he trains harder.

Barcelona will still be Real Madrid's toughest rival regardless of its current form. Losing 6 points from 3 draws is not too bad for Barcelona because in reality they still managed to avoid defeat. I really hope Ancelotti doesn't underestimate Barcelona in any way even though they are 3 points behind, so I don't expect them to win the El Clasico and put a lot of pressure on us.
Barcelona's current performance is not bad, but on the contrary, a lot of improvements have occurred in the current Barcelona team, but consistency is still an unsolved problem at the moment.
With what Xavi Hernandez has done now, no one should doubt or underestimate him to be able to make the Barcelona team even better.
So it is very clear that Barcelona will still be Real Madrid's tough rival in the race for the La Liga title this season and in fact it is still quite possible that Barcelona will be able to defend the La Liga title this season.

How Girona turned to a formidable team still surprises me. One unique thing about them is their resilience,  not minding of they are playing a big side like Barcelona or Real Madrid. I am very convince they will finish the season around the top to securing one of the European competitions.

I knew anything could happen. But I don't feel confident that they can survive for European competition. They are still in a long period. Last season they finished in the top 10 and I was indeed quite surprised. This season indeed they are in good financial shape. They joined the City Football Group led by Sheikh Mansour. They are on a good path, but to get into European level is still quite difficult with the players they have at the moment.

It must be admitted that Girona is indeed very impressive with the minimum player material, but Girona's consistency continues to prove to be only inferior to Real Madrid. Girona also in the early weeks of LaLiga could be said to have only met the big teams Villareal and Sevilla, and even then Sevilla was still not stable. Entering the UCL is indeed a bit difficult with the existing player material, but if you can just qualify for the European zone, it seems like a very good achievement. So, if Girona wants to become a BIG 4 challenger, they have to continue to prove by maintaining concentration and maintaining consistency so that they can truly become a serious challenger.

Yes, Girona shares management and ownership with Manchester City. It's not surprising that it is now starting to become a strong club. In the future, don't be too surprised if they bring in star players.

They made surprises, but I think they were only temporary. Staying in the top 10 teams in La Liga is good enough. Girona still have a lot of games and good stability to stay on top. I don't believe they will stay on top at the end of the season.

This is their second season in La Liga because after relegation and restarting La Liga last season they were also directly in the middle of the table at the end of last season and indeed from the improvement for the first season which was extraordinary this time they have something very good to be proud of again.

But to be in the Europa League next season they must try to maintain their current condition which is in a positive trend not to lose this momentum because sometimes for a club with surprising strength at the beginning of the season sometimes has consistency problems towards the end and that happened to Betis last season so if Girona really want to finish in a good position they must try to maintain consistency as well.

An average club can become an elite club, all this depends on the kind of coach hired for the job and the presence of outstanding players. Girona can survived European competition if they maintain consistency in their games.

A good coach can take an average club to a higher level but he won't be able to maintain that standard without proper funding. If the team isn't able to compete for the signature of good players then that team won't be at the top for long. They may be able to be at the top for one or two seasons. We've seen how teams like Valencia and Sevilla keep suffering because of financial problems.
Villarreal too is one of such clubs.

La Liga needs to reduce the strict financial regulations they have on La Liga teams. It's weakening the league.

Sevilla is a bigger club than Arsenal but Arsenal is more recognized because Sevilla doesn't have the money to attract big players.

Yes, Xavi must have other options besides relying on Lewandowski to score goals. Luckily, Lewandowski did not suffer a fatal injury because if he suffered a fatal injury, it is not impossible that Barcelona would lose balance in the match they were facing. and yes I thought Barcelona would win the match especially this match but with a draw it was quite surprising to many people especially the fans and bookmakers who bet a lot on Barcelona, we all know this match should be quite easy for Barcelona without Lewandowski because Granada is not a tough club but in fact Barcelona had to share points with Granada in that match.
I was also very surprised by the results obtained by Barcelona at home to Granada, because as you said, Granada is a team that is not that strong and is still in a very bad zone at the moment. But when Granada was able to compete with a draw when they hosted Barcelona, it really surprised many people because Barcelona should have been able to get full points in that match. But unfortunately that didn't happen and again Xavi had to find a way to keep Barcelona strong even though currently several good players are injured, including Lewandowski.
