Girona this season is playing pretty well, I didn't even think they would be able to be in 7th position with 47 points even though this season was their first season in league A

Real Madrid are not holding back, making sure they reached full agreement with their key players. Luka Modric will signed new contract extension with the Los Blancos in the coming days. He's one of the productive play maker in the club and Carlo Ancelotti needs him to remain in his squad. His contract will be validated until June 2024, nice to see more playing pairing with Modric and Toni kroos. It's a solid project to see Modric controlled the engine room of the club, they remained one of the top clubs in Laliga and world of football.

The difference is that they weren't third in the league when that happened, they are now third, behind Barcelona and even ATM, and that rarely ever happens, when was the last time Real Madrid was out of top 2? This is a rare occasion and that is why they are considered weaker than they used to be.

I understand that some people may still like them, but that doesn't mean that they will do well, they just can't operate at the level they used to operate and that is why most people think City will beat them easily. This isn't a shocker because not only Madrid ended up worse, but also City got better as well, and when you think about that, compared to last years matchup, they are facing a much different series to be fair. I think that will be a very important difference for sure.

To be honest, with the current conditions, I'm quite doubtful about this, especially since we already know that this is probably the last season for Busquets and that Alba is at Camp Nou, on the other hand, adding a few players? they have to evict several players who are not used because obviously things like this are still difficult for them to do because as you said, they are still in very difficult financial conditions.

I don't know what happened to Real Madrid, so they have experienced many unsatisfactory results this season. Perhaps one of the factors is that the strategy used by Real Madrid is somewhat monotonous. I don't mean to say their strategy was bad, it's just that now such a strategy can be read by opponents, making it easier for the team facing it to anticipate the moves that Real Madrid usually makes. However, they still won trophies, including the Copa del Rey trophy they just won. In the Champions League they have to perform even better to beat Manchester City.

Xavi deserves high appreciation for his success in building Barcelona's mentality which collapsed in the era of the previous coach. I agree that Barcelona has been on a good path since Xavi returned to Barcelona, but of course he needs a lot of support both morally and financially to build a better team.
