The fact that there are 12 points difference between Barcelona and Real Madrid tells us the story of the season thus far. Real Madrid has been doing well in the UCL just like they always do, but when they are bad in the league that proves that they are not as good as they used to be, like last year they were better and I do not mean like they were better than Barcelona, that is easy because Barcelona was bad, it is not about standings, it's about how many points they collected by this time, and it was probably higher.

So, overall they are worse this year and just because of this fact I feel like they may not end up winning the UCL title this year, not again at least.
Barcelona is superior because it has players who are mature and ready to carry out several matches, and few are injured, while Real Madrid currently has many injured players so that the contribution of the players on the field cannot be maximized and ultimately makes Real Madrid lose. Madrid still has players who have skills like the main team, so that will make them compete with Barcelona.

God is great

Real Madrid will definitely continue to try to win the title until the end of the season. But winning the La Liga title has now become difficult for Madrid. And a defeat against Barcelona in the last match makes the road to the title very difficult for Madrid. Madrid is now 12 points behind Barcelona. Barcelona needs to lose 4 matches and Real Madrid needs to win all the next matches to close this gap. Barcelona has lost just two of their 26 matches this season. I don't think they will lose 4 out of the next 12 matches. On the other hand, it is very unlikely that Real Madrid will win their next 12 matches.
The point gap Barcelona have against Real Madrid will be so difficult for Real Madrid even if they try so hard,  I don't think Barcelona will be so weak to lose most of the remaining games left for it to be easy for Real Madrid to win the league. I don't think it will be possible for Real Madrid to meet Barcelona,  it will be better they just concentrate on how to win the Champions league,  the possibility of achieving this is low unlike the the laliga race.

Real Madrid are a really impressive team to tell the truth. I mean yeah maybe their chance of becoming the La Liga champions this season is very low. But I mean a different thing. They don't have a poor season that easy even if they make manager changes. Zidane had an amazing run for a couple of years with them. And now we are watching Ancelotti doing a great work in the same way. They won the La Liga and Champions League titles both in the previous season for example.

They have a chance ahead to win the Champions League title two times in a row as well. For example Barcelona isn't like this. They had a horrible period with Koeman but now they are much better with Xavi compared to that time.
Real Madrid a very fortunate to have an experienced coach like Carlo Ancelotti. When other clubs were busy scrambling for players during the transfer window, I was surprised that Real Madrid was not part of the rush. Coach Ancelotti said he was comfortable with his current squad. And currently, the team is performing very well not minding the point gap between Barca and them. Even with the injury woes of Benzema other younger strikers like Rodrygo and Vini Jnr have not disappointed.
It has been a disappointing season for Barcelona regarding European football but winning La Liga will be a worthy consolation.

Valencia are playing decent today and even if they just had a goal invalid by VAR , they will still attack in order to score but still...their overall season is not so great a....
It is not enough to only play decent. Valencia must do more than it. But indeed, Atletico Madrid was much better in any line. They were also able to utilize every chance to shoot and make it more accurate. 3- 0 for the Atletico Madrid Victory really made sense. Valencia might have good performance, but not really effective to attack and execute.

The fact that there are 12 points difference between Barcelona and Real Madrid tells us the story of the season thus far. Real Madrid has been doing well in the UCL just like they always do, ...
Real Madrid's loss to Barcelona in El Classico is truly unfortunate. In the end, Barcelona remained ahead with quite a lot of points. So, Real Madrid's opportunity to take over seems to have disappeared. They just need to maintain to stay in second place. And also to focus more on the UCL which of course will be much more challenging.

Valencia is in a bad state, but I find it tough in La Liga anyway. Frankly speaking, even Girona and Mallorca are not completely safe yet and that is about 10 teams to still fight for their place in La Liga. I think Celta Vigo won't have much to do with relegation, but of course it could theoretically still happen.

The positive outlook for Valencia is that they can actually beat relatively strong teams like Real Sociedad and even the win against Osasuna was very important. But at the same time they lose critical games like the one against Valladolid. Perhaps the good times for Valencia have come to an end these days.

Barcelona's advantage is that they can focus heavily on La Liga and the Copa Del Rey, while Real Madrid have set their sights on the Champions League and perhaps halfheartedly on the Copa Del Rey.

It's reasonable to think that Madrid will no longer focus on La Liga after trailing Barcelona by 12 points, but that doesn't mean they have to play badly and fail to win their other match. There is optimism on the part of Real Madrid, especially regarding the coach because in my opinion Ancelotti does not give up easily.
La Liga is their main focus right now in the midst of preparing for the Second Leg Semifinal against Real Madrid at Camp Nou.
However, it is also very natural that Barcelona focus on La Liga because there is no other competition that can be expected to lift a trophy other than the Copa Del Rey which they may not get because Real Madrid still has a chance to stop them.

Both Ancelotti and Xavi must have prepared several plans to anticipate that the team they are currently working with can get a trophy.
If Barcelona only has La Liga and the Copa Del Rey left, then Real Madrid still has the Champions League and the Copa Del Rey.
Between the two remaining competitions, who is the luckiest. That's what we are waiting for from the two coaches.
As much as it is very clear that Barcelona aren't La Liga champions of this season mathematically, we should also know that they aren't gonna allow the title slip off their hands as well.
That El Clasico match against Real Madrid last weekend was their biggest test of the La Liga season and they played like a team who really want to become Spanish league champions once again.

Real Madrid's main attention to lift a major title this season is on the Champions League because they already know that the domestic title race is almost over

Barcelona managed to widen the gap with Real Madrid after picking up full points in their second meeting in La Liga this season, Barcelona is increasingly secure at the top of the standings after winning 12 points from Real Madrid who sit in second place.

After successfully beating Real Madrid, Barcelona chances of embracing the La Liga title are getting bigger. Barcelona only needs 25 more points to become champions, this amount is not difficult for Barcelona to collect because of its very consistent performances. Barcelona also no longer competes in European competition, now the focus is only on La Liga. Real Madrid had to give up the La Liga trophy for Barcelona, the defeat in El Clasico made their chances even smaller.

This could be another advantage of Barcelona.
But for now, letting Barcelona win again in their match will actually hurt them, I think.
The current condition is that their Supercopa has been defeated by Barcelona, La Liga also almost certainly belongs to Barcelona and now the Copa del Rey if handed over this will clearly make them questionable.
At least they should stop one of Barcelona's trophy stoppers this season.

I know Real Madrid's chances of winning La Liga are not as good as they were at the start of the season, but so far Real Madrid are still pushing for that hope by improving their performance.
Everyone knows it, mate. Now, the chance is getting smaller, it is even almost impossible to overtake Barcelona points. Barcelona is leading with 12 points gap, it is very very difficult to pass it, especially with only 12 remaining matches. I personally think it is just a miracle to overtake Barcelona points now. However, Real Madrid surely will always try to shorten the point gaps. At least, they need to secure the runner-up place. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are only 5 points different at this time. Real Madrid must think about this seriously!

I haven't said Barcelona will win La Liga this season because I hope they still struggle to win the next few match. Every team will prove its strength, but of course it's for themselves not depriving Barcelona of the title.
Barcelona only wins the title when the season is over. Sure, they will always keep winning until the latest match. I believe Xavi targets to win all the remaining matches to prove that they deserve the La Liga title this season.

I think the battle for the championship is over. Barcelona a cartload ahead with no less than 12 points ahead. Still, I don't feel that Barcelona has been very dominant this season. They have only been very consistent and have also won many games 1-0 or 2-1. The match against Real Madrid was another good example of this. Anyway, won is won and it is better to win 10x with 1-0 than win 8x with 7-0 and than lose 2x. It's nice that they have become national champions again, after all, it was a while ago.
Now the title race is not very interesting because of the certainty of Barcelona actually I also still feel this has been decided. It's just that for Madrid this should be a good lesson because they are too sure of themselves with the squad and don't add players when the transfer doesn't always go well.
There is still a chance to win the Copa del Rey now for Madrid even though the aggregate is still held by Barcelona.

As of week 26, Real Madrid's point gap with Barcelona has reached 12 points. We can say that this figure is quite far in a competition that has around 12 remaining rounds this season based on the La Liga calendar.
Even though Real Madrid will continue to push their efforts to continue to pursue victory after victory, of course Barcelona as the top of the standings for now do not want the chance to win the championship which is almost close to them to fail because of the mistakes they have made themselves.

No campaign should prevent Xavi and Barcelona from winning the title, that is in the interests of each team.
Although personally really want to see Xavi lift the La Liga trophy as a coach.

Last year Real Madrid was not a favored team to win UCL but somehow they were able to beat Chelsea and even Man City as the strongest candidate to win the cup. It's unfair to judge that Real Madrid couldn't win UCL just because of their poor performance in LaLiga. In otherwise, Barcelona playing well in LaLiga yet they couldnt did anything in Europe competitions.

With a gap of 12 points I think the title race is over even though there are games left. Barcelona's victory in El Clasico yesterday became a sign that Madrid had given up. If you look at El Real's performance, it is quite difficult to catch the Blaugrana. Apart from playing the remaining matches until the end of the season in La Liga, Real Madrid must also shift its focus to two other tournaments. I think Madrid should focus better on the Champions League and the Copa Del Rey. However, Benzema must exert his strength to be able to win one of the titles in the remaining competitions.
Right now I no longer hope that Real Madrid will get miracle to win the La Liga title after Barcelona leads the standings with 12 points. Barcelona have been the most favorite team for the title this season, so I will no longer doubt them for the rest of the season unless Barcelona lose 3 in a row once La Liga starts in April.

"No team has ever failed to go on to win the league after leading by such a margin at this stage of the season", at least that is Barcelona's optimism so far.

The road to the league title

Quote
There are 12 games to go in La Liga 2022/23, and that is also how many points Barça lead Real Madrid by. That is not enough to start celebrating anything quite yet, but the fact is that no team has ever thrown away such a lead in the history of the competition. And Barça have no intention of being the first.

In fact, 12 points was also the difference between the clubs in 2015/16 with just nine games to go. But four games later, Madrid had closed the gap to just one! Barça eventually took the title on the final day thanks to Luis Suárez's hat-trick against Granada. So you can never be too careful...

With six games left at Spotify Camp Nou and six games on the road, plus what remains of the Copa del Rey, there is a lot to look forward to this next two months.

I don't think they will lose 4 out of the next 12 matches. On the other hand, it is very unlikely that Real Madrid will win their next 12 matches.

Real Madrid has played very poorly this season; their lack of consistency is the reason they keep losing points unexpectedly.
Real Madrid finds it very challenging to close the twelve-point gap with Barcelona because they don't have time to do so given that Barcelona is also in excellent form and has made winning the La Liga title one of their top priorities this season.

Real Madrid, one of the best teams in the world that knows how to play the Champions League even when they are not in good form, is a team that cannot be predicted when it comes to the Champions League. I don't think we can judge their Champions League performance with the league performance because they can surprise us by making the finals.
