As long as the points difference between Barcelona and Madrid is not too far, the opportunity is still there and I think the points difference between the two teams is only 3 points. Because Madrid still has a postponed match and I think this match will give full points to Madrid.
In january when the transfer market reopens, Barcelona and Madrid can very quickly have high changes because we all know that both teams will look for the right players to replace injured players.

They are not financially stable at the moment yet they don't need too many players maybe little signing at least they need to rest players, Nico Williams could have been a nice option along with Dani olmo, atleast yamal can rest while we know the game will still be secured.
De Jong hasn't respond because of the cut in pay I think... I don't know where I read it but ithink if he signs it, he's ready to settle down for the little pay and at the moment , his injury seem to be triggered a little from any contact close to his knee(happened in the last game and he was subbed after the first half)... even if he wishes to stay I'm afraid he might still have to go through surgery he's been trying to avoid [hopefully he doesn't get another injury on same spo, maybe that can save him]

I'm yet to see any report that suggests Barcelona have offered Frenkie De Jong a contract extension but if what you said here is true, I don't think it'll be a good move for the Catalonian club unless the Dutch player is ready to take a pay cut from what he's currently earning. Currently in the Spanish La Liga, De Jong is ranked as the highest salary earner in the league even when he's not been playing regularly because of the constant injuries he's always sustaining and for a club like Barcelona, I don't think it'll be a good deal to continue to keep such expensive player at the club

Barcelona is still good as presently constituted and can finish the season with the squad and even achieve all their targets. The attack is perfect as well as the midfield so nothing is missing in the team. They should just concentrate in building more synergy among the players so they can continue playing as a team and getting those beautiful results. One good thing about the present team is that is not build around one player, all the players are delivering on their assignment with goals coming from different players and not centered on one. That is how to know a great team that is ready for trophy.

The reason for the poor financial situation on Barcelona is due to some debts which we know of to an extent but so far their play is improving and looking very promising so they have a chance at getting that fixed, their focus at this time wouldn't be to buy big players or even get these players to staying by paying huge salaries, rather ro build a team that can help them get some more trophies and get out of this mess of a situation. So any comparison with Madrid at this time may not be necessary in that they obviously know their stands with that and getting it fixed is the next big step.

yet we all still know who's going to win the title if they perform better and not what they performed in their last game(Barcelona). Hence, isn't it weird no one is talking about other teams having the chance to win the title... I mean just this two teams, it's kinda getting bored Tongue

Of course, Barcelona is not in good condition, especially financially. Mbappe definitely facing a lot of fire from the fans because of how he has been looking, not many people are happy with what he is getting so far and even though he is climbing, that is not enough and many will be expecting a lot from him. This is Real Madrid we are talking about, for the fans, that is the best team in the entire world, or has to be, they won't accept anything less.

So, when they have a striker that is as valued as Mbappe, then they would expect that player to score the most goals as well. Looking at Lewandowski, he has been a great striker for over a decade now, and he is still going at it, he is probably 10+ years older than Mbappe give or take if I am not wrong, and yet he is still scoring a lot.

It is within every right for Real Madrid fans to expect Mbappe to score more than a guy who is ten years older than him, nothing more and Mbappe hasn't delivered that at all, we need to focus on doing better job and Mbappe can only apologize to fans by scoring more goals. There is no other way, Lewandowski isn't a simple dude to focus though, he is not really easy to catch, he will continue to score bunch of goals and may end the season as the top scorer of La Liga as well.
