I also have almost the same thoughts as you. because the difference of 8 points is actually quite difficult for Real Madrid to catch up with. But I also think that Real Madrid will at least have more wins in the next matches and continue to add points. but so does Barcelona who will continue to add more points. so the difference in points may be difficult for Real Madrid to follow. But the rest of the game this season is still a lot. so the opportunity for Real Madrid is still wide open to catch up with Barcelona.

I agree with Ahli38 that Real Madrid has chances to catch up with Barça, and disagree with swogerino because there is no need of 3 consecutive loses at all (which is highly unlikely): every draw for Barcelona, if Madrid wins, cuts the difference in 2 points. In 16 matchdays (the ones remaining) chances are that they manage to do it. In fact, a few months ago the situation was the opposite, and look how easily Barcelona has managed to overtake Madrid.

I disagree because we know Real Madrid needs 8 points to reach Barcelona this season but 8 points is not a lot, and no one can predict the future of these two teams if Barcelona loses points in some matches. As a result, Real Madrid will be able to take the advantage of this situation and take their place in the league, while they have only had one loss in the current season, demonstrating the quality of Xavi's performance.

That's right, Barcelona is currently so tough and you can be sure they will secure 1 La league title this season. I also don't have more expectations with the current squad because even though they are playing quite well but as you said if they lack the supply of balls from the middle of course it will be an obstacle to producing more goals and the tiki taka playing style that we know is very dominating through midfield, I think Xavi will soon find a way to deal with that.

This game from Real Madrid against Liverpool does change a couple of things up I believe. I thought that they are not that confident right now and their performances in away games wasn't quite that good. Hence I thought that they are going to lose against Liverpool and will then have a hard time in La Liga and Copa del Rey as well. With this win in the Champions League today, I think they add a lot to their confidence and it is actually the teams facing them who will be a bit more afraid. Barcelona has been watching them as well today.

The clasico will soon take place in La Liga (also in Copa) and if Real Madrid can stay hard on Barcelona's heels until then, I guess we are going to see a similar Real Madrid as we saw today and that could make La Liga interesting again. Now Atletico is waiting and whereas I thought that is going to be a close game, I now believe that Real Madrid is a big favorite.

Well I have a different view about FC Barcelona being on top of the League and having the opportunity to win more then one trophy since they lead Real Madrid with good 8points. The chances of Real Madrid catching up with Barcelona is still very high because both teams still have so many matches as they have played just 22 games in the League already but they will still need to do better in every match they play otherwise Real Madrid will close the gap and still end up winning the League. For Barcelona to win the League that means they will maintain winning streak in all the matches and about the number to of trophy that Barcelona will win,it all depends on the teams performance and Xavi as the manager needs to work on his players so that they can deliver and hustle to make the team remain on top of the League.
