Barcelona loss to a smaller team like Real sociedad proved that they failed to take the previous matches as seriously as they did and the poor performance of the attacking players led to the loss which disappointed the crowd and many gamblers. Yes barca fought well but failed to score do you blame it on luck or own mistakes? Coach Hansi Flick blamed the match referee and said that Barca lost the match as a result of his wrong decision. However the loss to Barcelona brought some relief to Real Madrid as they were 9 points behind and the loss to Real Sociedad reduced that gap to 6 points.

I who am not a Barcelona fan, also see this very upset, but VAR is set with an automatic system so that even one inch will be an offside result. Not only in the offside session, we also often see the position of the ball on the thin goal line. The point is whatever happens when everyone has agreed to use VAR, then you must be ready for all possibilities that are beyond the reach of the eye. Let's just say Barcelona contributed 3 points to Sociedad in that match.

Barcelona Odds yesterday was too big so I began to wonder if the bookmakers did not realize that Barcelona has won even bigger clubs to have given them that big odd against ordinary Real Sociedad but I never knew that those bookmaker knows what they were doing, however from what I saw on that odd I believe that if somebody should follow up the way those bookmakers go about their odds somebody can win big one day because yesterday game was not the first time we are seeing this, so does it mean that those bookmakers knows exactly how those matches will play? I don't know what's wrong with the var officials these days, the reason why the var was there in the first place was to assist the referee in some tight situations, but it seems that the var officials are making more mistakes than the infield referees. There was no way Lewandowski was offside, as clearly shown in the picture, but I don't know how on earth they said that was offside. This decision was totally against Barcelona and for sure it was going to affect their play. In a match that was as tight as that particular one, when Real Sociedad players weren't giving much space in their defense and you managed to score a goal and it was wrongfully ruled out. The league management should improve their performance, so that things like this won't be happening in the future. Barcelona might be the victim today, but who knows which team will be next victim.

Real Sociedad may not look better than Barcelona, but that doesn't guarantee that they can't win when facing Barcelona and we can see it in this match. Previously we might have agreed that Barcelona was more favored, but that doesn't mean Real Sociedad didn't have a chance to win.

The solid defense built by Real Sociedad was the key to their success in this match, in statistics we can see that they didn't let Barcelona create very dangerous opportunities, even though Barcelona dominated the match. As a Real Madrid fan, I certainly hope that Barcelona will lose points and in fact there are prerequisites for this - the odds are too generous for a game between an absolute leader and an underdog. This is Barcelona second defeat of the season, Hansi Flick did not make many changes to the line up, but his attacking creativity was very minimal. Real Sociedad proved that they are a strong team in defense, they played very disciplined, Barcelona had difficulty finding opportunities that could be used to score goals, none of the 11 shots were on target. The tight pressing applied by Sociedad was able to prevent Barcelona's planned scenario from working, Hansi Flick must realize that his second defeat in La Liga this season could increase if he is unable to control the game, especially in the midfield area which is the creator of their attacks.

I am also very disappointed with the referee's decision in the Sociedad vs Barcelona match which was clearly not offside the Real Sociedad player's foot was behind and it was clearly a robbery for Barcelona, I am quite disappointed with the decision and this match became Barcelona's first match without scoring even though Barcelona has been quite strong until now but after the unfair first half decision they seemed to lose the tempo of the game, in my opinion the referee on duty in the match should be sanctioned for his annoying decision.

What is very unfortunate is that my bet failed again in this match but I am not that sad I am quite sad with Barcelona who were deceived in this match.

Actually, Barcelona played quite well from the start. And Lewandowski even scored 1 goal in the first half. Unfortunately it was deemed offside so the goal didn't count. Even though I saw it was really the thinnest offside I've seen so far. And I thought that Barcelona would score again but yeah the result was quite disappointing. Because Barcelona was unable to score a goal until the end and had to concede 1 goal. In fact, since the middle of the first half, or more precisely, after Lewandowski's goal was deemed offside, I started to see that Barcelona's performance was actually decreasing. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad continued to press very well and created several opportunities which almost resulted in more goals against Barcelona in the first half. I think this is related to the mentality of the players. But in the second half Barcelona improved again but well they failed to equalize and had to accept defeat.

Without VAR, it is more explainable for this mistake from a referee but with VAR, it's like a joke.

Anyway, this defeat is a warning that is necessary for Barcelona players to cool down their head and confidence. They are playing well but they are not reaching to unbeaten level and champion level. They must focus and improve more, not to be unbeaten in rest of season, but to end this season with La Liga title. It's biggest and most important recognition for their quality improvement with young players and set up their future too.

If VAR was correct, Barcelona would secure one point from Sociedad but even so, it's still a bad result for Barcelona.
