Well , barcelona under xavi can't really close to the good old days prime barcelona under pep and probably will never be , to have more than 90% of the domestic league games in domination ... there is several occassions that they are undeperforming like what they did today against girona.

The good news is that real madrid the only title contender so far have worse form compared to barcelona so yeah nothing really exciting this season in la liga.

Hard fought 3 points from Barcelona, they been winning by this exact same margin in recent weeks. The good news for them is that they know how to hold on to their lead. They didn't play particularly well but I think they are learning how to win games without playing perfectly well. There were a few rotations from Barcelona added with absence of Lewandowski and Ferran Torres. Barcelona are now 6 points ahead at the top of the league and have a strong chance to remain that well if Madrid lose to Sociedad tomorrow which is pretty possible because Madrid have not been at their best while Sociedad is in a good form.

Girona had chances to at least get a point out of this game but unfortunately for Girona and fortunately for Barcelona they couldn't make use of the chances.

Basically, after a rather boring first half, the teams picked up the pace and Barca was able to score after a good combination of Fati and Alba, where Pedri only had to carefully put his foot up to send the ball into the goal. We have to give credit to Girona's players, who did not break down after the goal, but scored almost immediately, even from offside and pressed until the end, so that Ter Stegen did not have to relax until the final whistle.

Getafe and Real Betis encounter today it is good to note that This two teams haven't been in great forms recently, but Real Betis is having a much better season overall. After all, they are sixth in the standings and eleven points ahead of Getafe. Upon that, Getafe lost three games in a row in La Liga. However, they did have a tough schedule and I can see them ending their losing streak in this match, but I can't see them beating Betis. So, so my person take for this game is a draw. After all, the last match between these two teams ended without any goal and I don't see why that can't happen again today.

I believe Madrid could destroy Sociedad if they play with full force, and they are ready to do that, not missing anyone important as far as I know and should be doing pretty well in the long run.

It must have been like 10 years since he got his last red card in the Bundesliga. He is getting suspensions by yellow cards as well. He is playing harder than before seemingly. Xavi made a lot of different rotations and formations in this match so it was clear that this didn't go according to plan because Dembele and Ansu were placed in really unusual positions.
The first half was monotonous in my opinion and I hope there will be changes for the second half because regardless of anything they still need points in this match considering their position is still not safe.

Lewandowski cannot play in this match because he has pocketed five yellow cards, so he is suspended for one match. Xavi Hernandez played his full strength in this match, but Barcelona's performance was not looking good on the field and the finishing was still not good. I think Dembelle is injured that is why Xavi has to replace him that early with Pedri, the absence of Dembele is seen in the first half already because Barcelona is dominating but the crosses and ball runs that Dembele usually does is no longer seen making it difficult for Barca to penetrate through the box of Gerona even as they are playing better. Barcelona has increased the ball possessions from 65% to 35 to 68% to 32 % but they are yet to put the ball at the back of the net as of when this post was written and in less than 10 minutes they will go for half time with a score line of 0:0 that won't be a good record for Barcelona who is hoping to extend their lead to 6points after this matching hoping that Madrid fails to win in their match against Real Sociedad tomorrow.

Girona - Barcelona is 0-0 and we are almost at the end of the first half. There are still a few seconds to play. No panic at Barcelona yet, but it would have been nicer if they were at least ahead at half time. Barcelona also won the previous match with minimal numbers (1-0) and the defense seems difficult to pass. So far that also applies to this match, but supporters prefer to see other football. Preferably the football of about 10 years ago in which they regularly put results like 6-2 or 41 on the scoreboard. Then those meager 1-0 results are not great either, but in the end only the result counts. Frenkie de Jong had to sit on the bench from Xavi for the entire match in the previous match.
