I didn't see the Madrid loss yesterday coming. I was certain they would win not because Villareal is a bad team nor because Madrid in good form but because Madrid know how to flourish in games like this. I should have know better when Madid was given 2.12 odds to win.

Since Madrid have lost lets see if Barcelona can win Atletico Madrid today and top the league with 3 point. Villarreal hasn't played an away match with Real Madrid yet. They were good at taking advantage of their opportunities in their home stadium. Their away match with Madrid will be sometime in April. I wasn't expecting Real Madrid to lose today. Villarreal were surely going to be a tough team to beat for Real Madrid. But I still thought that Real Madrid would get at least one point. Their performance level wasn't good enough in any position. They gave big spaces to their opponent in defense and wasted important chances to score as well.

I think Villarreal deserved to win this game. They had opportunities to win the game by a bigger gap as well. Especially Danjuma's chance was very clear but he wasted it. Let's see if Barcelona manage to beat Atletico Madrid and open the gap with Real Madrid in the standings.
