If there was anyone who wanted De Jong to leave Barcelona, then it was the club and their manager, they didn't want to keep him, they wanted to sell him to Manchester United and use the money to buy Bernado Silva from Manchester City, but because of the problem the club was having with De Jong's salaries, there was nothing they could do since they hadn't paid him what they owe him in full. I was also expecting De Jong to be left out of Xavi's starting eleven in most games, and i was correct, i don't think he is in the manager's plans, and that is very bad for his career, i don't know what De Jong's plans are with the club regarding his future, but i don't feel he will be in Barcelona after the end of this season.

Imagine asking the player to forcefully accept what they want to offer rather than pay what they owe with him initially, when he first came to Camp Nou.
Both Memphis Depay and Frankie De are not really Barcelona kind of players, Koeman wanted to bring in a new system but that was too difficult to implement.
How can Xavi Hernandez play Frankie De Jong as a center back ? That was the biggest red flag I've seen in football, imagine a player that played a different role all his life and still young and at the pick of his career, you want to play him as a CB ?

I predict too a good season for FC Barcelona, and nothing to do with the last year's La Liga, after the Covid, when the team wasn't complete. This year will be much harder for Real Madrid to beat them, not to say the other teams. But we will see, just a few matches played shouldn't tell much.

They didn't plan to arrest DeJong but De Jong himself forced to stay, don't we know that towards the close they insisted on selling De Jong and even wanted to give Sanctions when he stayed at Barcelona.
De Jong forced to stay because he still has rights at Barcelona especially his salary and as long as his demands are not paid then Barcelona is difficult to let him go.
