Girona scored 5 goals against the post of Sevilla. Hatrick for Dovbyk but equally good assists specially from Savio in the flanks. Sevilla too played good while Girona were successful in converting most of their approaches into a goal.
This has led to 1 point lead for Girona against Real Madrid but Real Madrid have played 1 less game than Girona. Even a draw with Las Palmas next saturday and Real would be leading the standings again. The league title seem to be remain contested even for a next few months to come.

We should be extremely mindful when anticipating La Liga matches because everything is flipping upside down. We observed a top competitive run between an elite and a mediocre club; is this unfathomable? It's a straightforward game. Girona is competitive enough to contend with Real Madrid for the La Liga crown. When small teams like Girona starts their season excellently everyone always expects them to drop in performance after a few games or most likely after the end of the 1st leg of the season but in this case Girona doesn’t seem like they are slowing down anytime soon. They have been excellent and have been giving Real Madrid a strong challenge and even though they eventually lose the title to Madrid i think they deserve our respect for the performance so far.

Sevilla on the other hand are not so impressive this season, they are struggling in the La Liga and the Champions League they were eliminated out of the Champions League and couldn’t make it the Europa league this time around and if they don’t improve their performance they could see themselves in the relegation zone and could get themselves relegated if care is not taken.

It's only temporary as realmadrid has 1 game left and it can surpass girona again as long as real madrid will not be bottling the next game. Real madrid is potentially to winning the la liga title this season by seeing its performance against girona. Im very skeptical about girona to keep its performance to be very consistent till the end of season. Im not feeling doubt for real madrid but girona seems take it differently caused by we have been seeing the club's performance has been declining a little big.
The main question that still needs to be answered by Girona pertains to consistency. The club needs to make a lot of preparation to make it real. Girona was only playing the next game early than real madrid. Real madrid is always giving pressure to the girona.
The way for girona to take the trophy becomes even harder if real madrid will win the upcoming game. It's caused by girona needs also to get three points and it's a must for girona to take it.

Happy for Girona because I did not like the way the Real Madrid game went it was almost as if the officials of the game wanted Real Madrid too not to lose the game and drop points. From Real Madrid's second goal that was allowed by VAR, to the extra added 11 minutes it all was seemed somehow to me. Congratulations to Girona for maintaining the heat and pressure on Real Madrid in their attempt to win the La Liga again. Girona continues to perform above expectations.

Girona, the most in-form team in Spain, seems determined to stay at the top. If you look at the timing of the scoreline, you'll see that Girona didn't plan to be this ruthless—Sevilla caused it. Scoring that early goal invited calamity. This season is turning out to be wonderful, and Girona might just achieve a fairytale dream by winning the league; they are showing great potential. Girona deserves to win the league with their impressive style of play, but Real Madrid is not sitting back and watching.

I was one of those people who didn't think Girona would win by that big a margin and I thought it was likely that Girona would win by just 2 goals. But what Dovbyk did by scoring a quick hat trick in the first half made my head shake and I couldn't believe this player was really crazy. What is beyond reason is that this advantage does not make Girona relax their attacks at all and they really want a perfect victory without the pressure that Sevilla can exert.

Girona is the most ferocious team against their opponents and to be honest I am still curious about how the second round meeting against Real Madrid will turn out considering that only Los Blancos have been able to stop them so far and it is possible that this time Girona will not remain silent and will avenge their previous defeat. Real Madrid and Girona are rivals this season and if Girona manages to lift the La Liga trophy this season then they will remind us of Leicester in the English league several years ago.

Girona have surprisingly been very impressive in the Spanish La Liga since the start of the league and yesterday, they trashed Sevilla in their Spanish La Liga game in their own home ground. Sevilla's defeat have further increased their problems and poor results since the start of the season as so many people are now finding it very difficult to believe that it was the same Sevilla that win the UEFA Europa League competition eight months ago. Girona's incredible performances and results has made a lot of people across the world to be backing them to win the Spanish La Liga title this season but as a Real Madrid fan, I wouldn't want to see such thing happen.

Yesterday, Real Madrid came from two goals down to defeat bottom of the league club Almeria after the away team wanted to shock them. When Real Madrid were still trailing by two goals to nil, I was very confident that they were still gonna win the game because they've got all the needed quality players to actually defeat Almeria which they finally did. The Spanish La Liga title race I think is now majorly between Girona and Real Madrid but I'm hoping that Carlo Ancelotti's men wins the league at the end of the season.

Dovbyk was really a beast in his performance in the Sevilla encounter after scoring a hat-trick, he literally uses every opportunity whenever the opportunity shows itself, Girona have so much defensive and attacking mindset of players that understands themselves. From the first goal Sevilla scored, I was actually thinking the game was going to be a tough one against Girona, not knowing that Sevilla went and touched the lions tail.
I would really love to see Girona ending up as the title winners, Real Madrid are literally following them edge to edge, not letting them have too much of that gap in the league table.  Real Madrid on the other side I've been having some level of inconsistency too, so the uncertainty between the two teams is so high that you cannot at this point just pinpoint that this person will be the League winner, however for me, Girona should continue to maintain their winning prowess at least to be on the safe side.

To be honest, I would love to see Girona become champions. But this doesn't seem like something that could happen to me. The points they lost in recent weeks were a big disadvantage for them.
They played very well against Sevilla and showed once again how much they wanted the championship. But we have a lot of time before the end of the league, Real Madrid is in a very good form and they continue on their way without losing any points in the last weeks.
I wonder how many more weeks a team like Girona can continue with this performance

Girona played really well. And I think they have actually surprised everybody. Not that nobody thought they would win the match, but probably not many people thought that they were going to win with such big of a difference. Even though if they have the same points as Real Madrid, the goal difference is going to be better for Real Madrid. But still, we have to appreciate the performance that they have given in the last match. And remember that Sevilla actually broke the deadlock. Then right after that, it was an incredible performance from Girona and Dovbyk.

That right and Atletico Madrid has proven enough that there is place where Atletico Madrid is able to be superior to Real Madrid, which is the king of La Liga and the most successful team in the UCL.
In this match Atletico Madrid played much better than before, even in the La Liga competition, it is very far away different.
Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid will meet again in La Liga at the beginning of February and it is home match for Real Madrid so it can be seen clearly who will be the favorite and have chance to win, only if Atletico Madrid is able to hold draw then It could be said that they were really great against Real Madrid.
But I not sure that Atletico Madrid will be able to hold draw in this match because Real Madrid really needs full points with the aim of being able to continue to chase and reach first place, I will bet on Real Madrid as the winner in the match.

They are players you can rely on and they can play well at home, I will see if they can play well when they meet again in La Liga match.
I think there will be difference in play that puts more pressure on all Atletico Madrid players and it is clear that Real Madrid will continue to avenge their defeat in the Copa del Rey.

Girona progress did not stop until week 21, crushing Sevilla mercilessly with a score of 5-1. Now Girona is back at the top of the standings with 52 points, because Madrid still has one match postponed against Getafe, and the most interesting thing is the competition between the two. Artem Dovbyk appeared stunning by scoring a hat trick, what's great is that he did it in a very short time.

On the other hand, what is of concern to many people is Sevilla performance, how can they decline drastically, only able to secure 16 points from 21 matches. If Cadiz and Granada rise, then Sevilla will sink into the degradation zone. Sevilla really needs to revolutionize the club so that it can survive in La Liga. We know that the biggest obstacle they face is the financial crisis, but they have to do a better job of promoting more young academy players, maybe that can save them. Girona has become the most serious club challenging for the title, Barcelona and ATM seem to only be able to enliven the competition in the top four.

After the previous week they failed to win because they were forced to draw by Almeria, this week they did not repeat the same mistake and successfully bulldozed Sevilla with a very heavy score, 5-1. To be honest at first I was a little worried after seeing what they showed in the previous week, because usually if the club achieves something unsatisfactory it will happen again in the next match, or in other words they will repeat the same mistakes, especially Girona this season as a mediocre club that was not predicted to be in this position.
Sevilla can create the first goal in this match, but Girona can respond quickly even less than 10 minutes they can create 3 goals at once making them turn ahead of Sevilla. After that they could play more comfortably because they already had the advantage. In the second half it turned out that they were not satisfied with the 3-1 advantage, and they could again create 2 additional goals and make them win very convincingly.

It’s very hard to tell wether Girona can stick to the winning strikes in this early timing or compete for LaLiga title, Real Madrid managing to do crazy rimontadas is not something new or to say it won’t last, just last night coming back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 against UD Almería, in just few minutes Real Madrid could flip everything and didn’t give any chance for Girona nor Barcelona to take the advantage in standings. But almost the opposite happened to Barcelona while they were 2-0 up to win until Betis equalized the score to 2-2, luckily they could survive this comeback and managed to score two more goals in the last minutes of the game.

Girona right now is leading the top standings with 52 points and the second place for Real Madrid with 51 points but with one match late, which is giving them more advantage. On the rest of standings, third place belongs to Barcelona with only 44 points and waiting their 21st match. I believe it’s time for the white house to take more advantage in order to secure LaLiga Title without worrying too much about it and also focusing well about UCL and other important titles.

Indeed it was a brilliant play by Girona, actually Girona has been one of the club I respect so much on this season because there consistency is nothing like before, they have been on there best performance right from the beginning of the season and by wining so many clubs we never imagine they could win, honestly there performance this season is really something to write home about because in several occasions they drop down from there first position but always still manages to regain back there fist position on the table.

So actually you are right there wining against Sevilla was a deserving win for them, however they never gave Sevilla a breathing space on that match and they were able to dominate the match from the beginning of the match to the end of the match by giving Sevilla 5-1, perhaps the wining has also giving them another good edge over real Madrid on there league table.

Girona still has many matches to go through as well as Real Madrid. Yes, in the first half Madrid couldn't score a goal against Almeria and the team coached by Gaizka Garitano was really great, they could overwhelm the strong Real Madrid team, they couldn't score a goal in the first half, while in the first half Almeria was ahead because they had scored 2 goals. but in the 2nd half Bellingham was really great and scored a goal with his penalty kick and opened up the enthusiasm for the Madrid players and in the 2nd half Madrid were really lucky and finally were able to get agoal back and ended up winning for Real Madrid and fortunately Madrid were not embarrassed in this match because if Madrid lose, they will definitely be embarrassed because they are facing the lowest ranked team in Laliga. Yes, Girona and madrid are currently still competing and racing and this proves that Girona and Real Madrid are really strong teams.

Yes, because their points difference is not that far, this makes this team sometimes always in 1st position, sometimes in 2nd position. It seems like we won't know what the final result will be, but as a football fan I can only watch and be entertained by their match. Now Girona and Madrid have to really maintain their performance so they can consistently win in the next match.

Yes, new champions always bring something fresh to the usual pool of teams competing for the title. But I hope this season we will limit ourselves to the championship of, for example, Arsenal (everyone has already forgotten when they had the title in the Premier League) and Bayer. Girona is associated with the group that controls City (I really don’t like this team), so if this group makes such a daring expansion into La Liga, it will not be very good.

Almeria were just lucky to have taken the early lead in that match and since they cannot defend their goals, Real Madrid who are more superior than them immediately bounced back, equalised and added the winning goal to give them the lead in the match. Real Madrid and Girona are still very close to each other in points that any team that loses any points will have themselves removed from the top position or go lower in the league standings.


Can’t we just conclude that this team, Girona is so good and winning the La Liga this season shouldn’t bull by luck for them but a deserving one for them. Just look how they played and won Sevilla with a four goals difference, they are indeed ready for the fight of the title winner this season. How they play, organised themselves in the league is so exceptional and they don’t fail to give the best result in order to maintain their stand in the league. I must say this should be the best season Girona would have ever played for a long time now. Sevilla on the other hand keep producing poor results, they shouldn’t wait until when they have no power left and then relegate from the La Liga which won’t be nice to see it happen after winning the Europa League just last season.
