Real Madrid couldn't give the expected and they drew with Villarreal by a goalless score. I didn't see them being very effective in the first half. Villarreal had even the most ball possession. But things changed in the second half. Real Madrid started being more dominant against their opponent. But they still didn't score and Villarreal resisted them well. Villarreal are just an interesting team now. They got 5 draws so far in 6 games. They are just preparing to making history I suppose. Grin

Real madrid ended in 0-0 as the first goalless match for them this season. Villereal was statisticly much better in this match then Real. But honestly anyone who watched the game seen that Real Madrid had more chances in this match and could have won. Villereal is a good tactical team and showed they are for the top of the league

I think Villareal might win against Real tonight as I'm watching the game as I'm typing and so far Villareal had 3 big chances of scoring and for sure more will come. I would not be surprised at all to see them winning or at least making a draw but I think it's time for one of them to lose their first game on LaLiga for this season. Grin

Maybe Diego Simeone was wrong to apply the defensive strategy this time. It didn't look good when they played from the start. Their appearance looks quite odd and they often lose focus on defending when the Alaves striker breaks into their defense. As the host, this time Alaves are seeded, so the tempo of Atletico game has died down and follows the game from Alaves.

You can't always bounce back at the last moment... Such an indicator on the contrary means that the team can't play normally for the whole half and only at the end they get something. Normal teams don't play like that. It`s strange that Atletico`s performance has been weak lately.

I guess Atletico Madrid could be another casualty of the Champions league fever as the team would have prioritized to save players for the Champions League at the expense of dropping points,but I looked at their squad and it's safe to say that these guys were beaten fairly even after fielding its "A" team with the likes of Suarez, Griezmann and others.
