This is the second time this season that Barcelona has lost to Monaco, the first time was in the preseason, when Barcelona was defeated by three goals. Now in the Champions League, the three points are gone because of a red card that, in my opinion, shouldn't have been awarded. But in football, errors happen, and a team might lose at any moment. After realizing that his error led to the Champions League loss, Stegen deactivated his Instagram account because the outcome wasn't what they had hoped for. However, they still have six or seven games left, so I'm confident in their performance this season despite the loss to Monaco.
The defeat to Monaco was indeed due to the goalkeeper's mistake which resulted in them losing one player due to a red card. The lack of players certainly made it difficult for Barcelona to build attacks, especially since Monaco had very strong confidence after defeating Barcelona in the pre-season and of course they tried their best to be able to repeat it again in the match and succeeded, Barcelona lost to Monaco. In football, no matter how small the mistake, especially the fatal mistake made by Stegen which caused his teammate to get a red card. However, this defeat did not make Barcelona desperate because they still have seven more matches to have the opportunity to qualify for the last 16.
Barcelona, on the other hand, is looking for a new goalkeeper to replace Stegen, who will miss the rest of the season due to an injury sustained against Villarreal, and their second goalkeeper isn't experienced enough to help them throughout the season. I hope they find one quickly before their next Champions League match.
Barcelona started this season very impressively in La Liga and this is very different from its rivals who have lost points in two matches. Since Barcelona was coached by Flick, Barcelona's game has become more focused and productive in scoring goals. Amazingly, Flick was able to utilize the existing players even though many of his star players were injured, he was able to show who the real Barcelona is so far in La Liga.
It is very interesting to follow Barcelona under coach Flick this season, whether they can be consistent and lucky with their injured core players such as Olmo, Bernal, Christen, Araujo, Gavi, Fermin, and now Stegen. The many injured players are due to the very tight schedule after the new Champions League format, I heard news that Stegen has an ACL injury, of course this healing will take a long time and I think Barcelona should move quickly to find a replacement for Stegen.
