Ter Stegen's injury was very serious, he will be out for 8 months, the rest of the season. Flick is worried about this, now he needs to decide whether to trust Peña or urgently start looking for a new goalkeeper. At least for insurance, they will need another good goalkeeper. Peña played very well in the second half, in the next matches he will definitely be the main goalkeeper, this is his big chance to prove himself and get a place in the team. I remember the time when Ter Stegen was injured last season, it was a very difficult time for Barcelona.
Ter Stegen long injury means Barcelona have to think about an alternative goalkeeper for the rest of the season. According to Fifa rules, Barcelona can recruit a new goalkeeper from today if the player is unemployed or without a club, Keylor Navas could be an alternative because he is the only top goalkeeper who does not play for any club, but Barcelona will face a big obstacle to bring him in because he used to play for Real Madrid.
Claudio Bravo also offered himself to help Barcelona, he would end his retirement if the club needed him. Barcelona must rely on Inaki Pena while Ter Stegen is injured or at least until an alternative goalkeeper is brought in, he is also a good backup and has proven his ability in the Xavi era. Of course, Ter Stegen's injury is a blessing for him to show his ability.

Andre Ter Stegen's injury could possibly be a serious problem for their defense, especially if Barcelona does not have a suitable replacement goalkeeper. They may still have Inaki Pena, but I doubt his performances will be enough to replace Ter Stegen. He only played 10 times in La Liga last season and his performance isn't really impressive (17 goals conceded in 10 appearances). It's quite unfortunate that De Gea received a contract from Fiorentina last August, otherwise, De Gea could have been an option for Barcelona.

Real Madrid definitely got a great win again, they are on a roll and doing very well, I think whatever was missing from the team at the start of the season, they are getting better. Jude is back as well, which is awesome for them and I am sure that they are going to end up with a great contribution from him as well. They are playing some young kids like Guler and Endrick as well at times and getting some decent contributions from them too, so I am assuming that we are going to see this team changing on the long run, and will be a great situation for Real Madrid.
Barcelona on the other hand failed to win against Monaco, if they end up doing the same thing at La Liga, they may actually lose their advantage over Real Madrid and put themselves at risk.
Real Madrid played really well, I can't say that I like their style of play this season. But they were very good in yesterday's match. They used more than 30 shots, played a very dominant game and managed to win the match 4-1.
On the other hand, Barcelona managed to beat their opponent by 5 goals. We are still watching one of the teams that has had one of its best seasons so far, Real Madrid will have a hard time Smiley

It was definitely a good win for Real Madrid and I like how aggressive they were in this match. I understand that the opponent was not a big one. Actually, Espanyol just got promoted this season if I recall correctly. So it was only expected from Real Madrid to perform and win this match very easily.

I also think that probably Real Madrid shouldn’t have conceded the one goal. Probably should have kept a clean sheet. maybe Thibaut Courtois gifted that OG to Espanyol. But it is what it is. What matter matters is that they have been able to get three points from this match.

https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20240923-madrid-s-many-styles-key-to-unbeaten-streak-ancelotti

Probably in this season, there is going to be another competition between Barcelona and Real Madrid for the La Liga title. Ancelotti is on fire.
I hope Atlético Madrid will join the party as well, all of these 3 team successfully keeping their unbeaten streak. Still early stages in the season though.

Girona has poor start this season and this weekend they were received 3rd loses during this season from Valencia and this result is makes them only can occupy 12th place on League standing because Girona only can collect 7 points from 5 matches in Laliga and this very different if we compared to their performance for last season because on season 2023/2024 at the beginning of season Girona can occupy first place

Actually if we see from Girona transfer lists they didn't losing many players this summer even Girona has very active to bought the players to strengthen their squad but seems the new players still unable to adapt well and this makes Girona still unable to in form this season and if i am not mistaken this thursday Girona will facing Rayo at their home and they should be utilize this match to bounce back and return to the winning ways

What are you expecting from Girona? They have lost a lot of their key players. They are starting from scratch again.

Also, you missed the key point on their transfer. They lost all of the players who have strong chemistry, which makes them struggle now.

They missed Dovbyk, Pau, Eric, Alex, Savinho, Pablo Torre, even Yan Couto. They lost all of their key players who made them finish at top 4 last season.

It makes me lost my optmisim for them. They're mid table team now.
That serves them right because I don't know why a club will sell all their key players who made them finish at third place last season and qualify for UCL, when they know that UCL is a big competition and they need to those players in order for them to be able to go far in UCL. Rather they sold the players and think that magic will happen this season.

If it that the management doesn't know the importance of having good players or they were after money thinking that they have arrived and that shows how unserious they are on winning the league because they don't have the zeal and passion to be Laliga winners someday.

I like to treat everyone as a friend 🔹
I was surprised with seeing Atletico Madrid lose points last night. Actually they scored the equalizer quite early in the second half. But there was still no goal in the remaining half...  Sad

Simeone continues to give Alvarez lots of chances to see his improvement. But unfortunately he couldn't make any impact on the game despite playing for the whole game. But he scored against Valencia previously so I hope he will get better slowly. I don't know maybe it is better to start with Griezmann instead while he is in a much better shape. Alvarez entered in the second half of the Valencia game and still scored in the end.
Taking advantage of playing at home, Rayo was able to match Atletico Madrid and it can even be said that their statistics are superior, and Atletico Madrid also did not play badly, they seemed to be trying to win but Rayo was very tough.
Both teams were only able to score goals in the first half
I think this draw is quite fair because overall both teams played well.
Julian Alvarez so far he has only scored one goal during the 6 matches that ATM has played in La Liga, he has not found his best game, or maybe he does not fit into the scheme run by Simeone.
Atlético Madrid in comparison I think played their best performance against Rayo Vallecano, otherwise they could have won. However, Rayo Vallecano played well and came out with their best performance, which led to a draw between the two teams and the two teams sharing the points. However, Julian Alvarez hasn't been at his best in the matches he has played for Atlético Madrid, which is fine, but maybe he will need some time to adapt to the team. If he can adjust his game well with Atlético Madrid, then he will show his best performance and play well.

I really appreciate Barcelona's game under Hansi Flick's guidance in several matches played at the beginning of this season, of course it is not easy with the many problems experienced by Barcelona in the last season of course it is difficult to do by clubs that are in a slump like Barcelona regarding their finances in finances, Hansi Flick provides a good mix for his squad which is in accordance with the tactics given to his players so it is natural that this season they really amaze all football circles and...

It has to be said that under the management of Hansi Flick, Barcelona look like they can come back very strongly in La Liga and in Europe. Flick has managed to build tactics around his team and bring back Barcelona as one of the big dominants in La Liga. However, when brought onto a bigger stage like the Champions League, this surprising defeat against AS Monaco shows that there is still much left for Barcelona to enhance.

The way they have been playing in their domestic league is quite good enough, but this defeat acts as an eye-opener that European competition needs high levels of consistency plus readiness in tactics and mentality. I feel that Barcelona should keep on improving, and if they are to make a real statement that they are still a major force in Europe, they have to also strengthen their squad. Yes, winning La Liga is important, but the Champions League is the competition where they have to win to show greatness.

This is a very bad news for Marc Ter Stegan and Barcelona as a club. The German international have been one of the most outstanding footballers in the the club for the last decade and the only member of the squad that won the UEFA Champions League title in 2015 for Barcelona that's still playing for the Catalonian club. Barcelona will now finish the rest of the first half of the season with  their second choice goalkeeper while they wait for the January transfer window to get another goalkeeper. Hopefully for them, they continue to deliver great performances in the league as well as improve their results in Europe.

a pretty serious injury and there is no option for Flick to rely on the goalkeepers available on the team. So far Marc Ter Stegan has always been the main choice and maybe it could be an opportunity for Inaki Pena Sotorres to show his abilities to Flick.
last season he also lost to Marc Ter Stegan and only got a few minutes to play. and now he has to show his quality and answer the trust of all teams.
let's see how his performance is in Barcelona's next matches. Marc Ter Stegan conceded 5 times in 6 matches. hopefully, Inaki Pena Sotorres can make a better performance.

The slaughter mode was activated again after experiencing defeat in their last match at Monaco's headquarters in the opening match of the UCL, Villarreal who were undefeated in the previous 5 games had to admit Barcelona greatness. Interestingly, Flick played many players from the La Masia academy in this match, both starters and as substitutes, there were 10 La Masia players who were given the opportunity to play by the coach. I saw Barcelona doing something that was very rare in the Xavi era, the players kept attacking no matter how many goals had been scored. This strategy had a big impact on the opponent's mentality. Initially, Villarreal players played very disciplined and were very determined to attack, but their spirit immediately collapsed after seeing goal after goal coming into their goal.

Hansi Flick has always been able to find talent worthy of La Liga, even relying on players from La Masia managed to show solid cooperation and slaughter Villarreal. Overall this will continue to provide many positives for Barcelona, but the Champions League task must be addressed immediately. The loss to Monaco demands Barcelona to win their next game against Young Boys. There is no other option as there are 7 Champions League games remaining and Barcelona cannot afford to drop points for a second time.
Hansi Flick has turned Barcelona into a different team this season. We had forgotten the power of Barcelona in those old days. The days of Messi and Xavi are over and I thought they would never get there again. They have always been very dominant in the matches they have played so far and have not suffered a defeat yet.

Their biggest rivals have even drawn twice and have lost points twice. Barcelona have lost one match in Europe. How did they lose to Monaco when they were so good, it was a ridiculous defeat but everything is fine, it is still early.

This reflects how strong Barcelona are now, for Villarreal this is the first defeat in La Liga and especially this is a defeat at home, where these guys are very strong, but even they conceded 5 goals from Barcelona. It seems that Barcelona are doing great in La Liga, now they have to do the same thing a few times in the Champions League to get some points, although I have no doubt that for them to reach the playoffs will be an easy task, and the defeat to Monaco is an accident. The next games will be with Getafe and Osasuna, I think these should be easy wins, and then the match with Young Boys in the Champions League, I expect Barcelona to score at least 4 goals in this match.
Barcelona have really improved well and what is surprising is that they improved in a short period of time, it is a good development for them and see them at the top of the standings means there is hope for them to challenge for the title this season. They have scored a lot of goals this season already and have a balanced squad, i just hope they don’t experience injuries like they did last season.

They played well against Villareal but it was not easy for them as well because Villareal also gave it their best but were unlucky to score goals as two of their goal scored were disallowed for offside else it could have been a different result entirely. They were lucky they utilized the chanced they had even though Lewandowski missed a penalty. It was an interesting game though.

It was surprising but they were lucky to have earned themselves a point by equalizing. Gallagher seem to be a good signing for them he has scored two goals now and helping the team quite well even though he struggled a bit in the first half. Alvarez will definitely improve with time, some players needs time to adapt to changes and it’s probably what he is going through right now, we all saw how good he was at City so the coach needs to give him time to adjust.

Yes, once again Barcelona is really unlucky because there is another injured player. And it has been confirmed that Marc ter Stegen underwent surgery for the patella tendon in his right knee. Let's just pray that the healing process will go smoothly. Luckily Iñaki Peña was able to replace him well, so he was also able to keep the goal from conceding.

Luck was not just on the side of Atletico Madrid and Rayo were playing them and all the curves that were coming from Rayo were chances that were missed if not there would have been more goals than what they expected and Atletico Madrid was cold towards Rayo, and it was not a great result for them but if they wanted to win they would have made proper arrangements and did all the analysis that will enable them to be able to win but even most of their shots were weak. everyone expected Atletico Madrid to win after the first half but there were still no goals and they played an equalizing game till the second half ended. and Alvarez's situation is why too much expectation might just get you broken.

sport is just an activity that gives one of the best entertainment that you can think of, just that when your club is disappointing you, you won't be happy because they will make fun of you and you will only be able to return such when they lose and you win then you will be able to return that same favor to them and what happened to athletico madrid was just an occurrence that is already bound to them and they were able to equalize if not Rayo would have been the one winning.

Barcelona this season is very impressive under Flick, he managed to make the Barcelona squad appear confident and always score many goals in La Liga, it can be said that Barcelona's goal productivity has increased, this is very different from the previous season.

I think Barcelona fans should be proud of everything Flick has done for the Barcelona squad this season. Despite rotating the main players, Barcelona still managed to destroy Villarreal and this was their first defeat this season. Barcelona is indeed extraordinary. In addition, Raphina also played very well and she took her captain's duties seriously. She defended her teammates and did it without her usual anger. She accepted her new role in the squad and showed seriousness in carrying out her duties.

Yes, I also want to say that the defeat to Monaco in the Champions League was an accident, because they had to play with 10 players and I am sure in the next match they will score many goals, especially in the next five matches Barcelona will not face strong teams either in La Liga or in the Champions League.

Losing Ter Stegen will certainly weaken Barcelona's strength, Flick must immediately respond to the incident quickly to maintain conduciveness in the team. So far Barcelona has been able to perform impressively in La Liga and was last able to cripple Villarreal with a fairly large score. However, I predict that if Ter Stegen has to be sidelined longer, Barca's strength will weaken and it is very possible for them to not be able to maintain their consistency so far.

I don't see Villarreal as a strong team, I mean in terms of defense. Although they were previously undefeated before facing Barcelona, their defense is quite vulnerable to conceding. In the previous 5 matches, Villarreal has conceded 8 goals, plus 5 goals conceded by Barcelona. Now, they have conceded 13 goals in their 6 matches. The difference is, this season Villarreal is quite productive in every match they play. Throughout the match, they are sure to be able to score goals. Moreover, Marcelino's pattern is very monotonous with his 4-4-2. In last night's match, although Barcelona was not reinforced by several of their core players, they were able to defeat Villarreal with a landslide score at Villarreal's home base. So far Barcelona is the most productive in their 6 matches compared to other teams, they have scored 22 goals and 18 points. While waiting for some players to recover, Barcelona should theoretically remain on a positive trend. In the next two matches, Getafe and Osasuna are not tough opponents, as well as in the Champions League against Young Boys. what Hansi Flick has to do is prepare Barcelona when they face his former team, Bayern Munich in the Champions League, it is certain that this match will be exciting.

When a player leaves his old club and joins a new club, naturally there is some weakness in his performance, maybe not above Mbappe.

Mbappe has been at PSG for a long time and when he left PSG to join Real Madrid, naturally, his current manager's tactics and good understanding with his teammates will be a little less, so we will see some weakness in his performance. But there is no doubt that this player will do well for Real Madrid. You mentioned here that Mbappe scored more goals in La Liga than his penalty kicks, I would say penalty kicks are a skill and not all players can do that.
Trust Real Madrid management as well as Mbappe they will not let you down at all.
I understand what you're trying to say but that statement shouldn't be generalised and you should've rather use to word (some) players, take for example, Cristiano Ronaldo, when he left Manchester United to Real Madrid, he didn't find it tough and blended immediately, even Jude Bellingham who just concluded his debut season was amazing upon arrival, it's understandable if Mbappe is not finding it easy, fans might complain and try to kill his confidence but it shouldn't get to him cause players like Hazard didn't find it easy too but the good thing about Mbappe is that he's not as injury prone compared to Hazard who didn't last at Madrid due to injury. Mbappe is a brilliant player and I'm very sure we'll see the best of him soon when he's finally got to understand the new teams tactics and blend well with his teammates. I wonder why some people disregard penalty kicks as if it's not part of football, if it's very easy as some people think then why do some world class players still miss it. It takes good skills to outsmart a goal keeper one on one a find the back of the net, the slightest distraction from the keeper or crowd could make a player miss it.
When Mbappe left PSG to join Real Madrid and when Mbappe played his first big match for Real Madrid we all know about the result of that match and Real Madrid won that match and Mbappe contributed well by scoring goals for Real Madrid. However, the performance of the same player is not always the same. You mention Ronaldo or Bellingham, they have been great from their early days in Real Madrid jersey but it wouldn't be surprising if Mbappe is different.

Mbappe is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world right now, so Real Madrid have signed a long-term contract with the player.
As quick as we are to expect performances from Mbappe in the Real Madrid jersey, maybe Real Madrid aren't expecting too much. We will definitely be waiting for Mbap's best performance.

Atletico Madrid are always not good at getting much goals but they have been good at equalizing and ending in a draw, that's their trade mark of last season and I think they can't stop doing that. If it was them that was leading by a goal to nil I don't think they would have bothered to get the second goal. They have been on this pattern for long, if they score 2 goals they are definitely going to win that game but if the opponent are the ones leading by a goal to nil ATM will struggle to equalize, you see them setting for a draw, which is too bad.
Alvarez is been given that chances he was asking for at Manchester City but he is not using it to his own advantage and it will look like he's not good for the ATM or doesn't have anything to offer to the team. To me I won't blame him but the club he moved to because they don't have that flexibility to even make opponent struggle while they dominate the game, which means he's finding it hard to work with the style of play ATM are using to operate, it would be hard for him to start performing with this team and if care is not taken he might be left out of the squad which will force him to seek of a loan move, ATM pattern doesn't suit him at all.
