Messi will be stay in Barcelona next season if Koeman can do something good with this team.
It is too early to say he will stay. Even Koeman can make Barcelona to win the La Liga trophy or champions league, Messi may have his own goal for his career in the future. Who knows if he wants to play in Argentina. I am not surprised if he wants to leave Barcelona whereas Barcelona can have a good result this season. Messi has stayed in Barcelona for many years, he may want another challenge in another country.

Messi's career is almost over. I think, now his only goal is champion league's title.
Does he state that the only goal for him is the Champions League trophy now?
I didn't hear yet that he stated about it. It is true that the Champions League trophy is the most prestigious title. But how he wants a specific goal like that? He already won it many times, so I don't think he is very eager to win it.

But why is not in the poll the Athletic Club? Sevilla, Valencia, why not Bilbao? ok, I'm being a big subjective here, but in fact it is not so difficult to create a poll with all the teams or, at least, the first 10 with the most possibilities of winning.

I'm quite an adventurer, so my vote is for the Athletic Tongue

In fact, it may still win the Cup "Copa del Rey" this year, why not the Liga?
If you are really sure about Bibeo why not put a little bet on them? Lol Arsenal won the FA cup last season and yet we're only expecting them to finish above 10th

Atletico Madrid has a goal to win the Champions League. They have won the La Liga once before, and in the Champions League they have always stopped short of success. Atlético is not strong enough to play on two fronts and they have to choose.

I agree that they have added more quality and certainly more depth to their squad and there are 2 of my countryman there too, but I don't see them as favorites to win the Champions league. If they get some lucky draw and some circumstances go in their favor, like no injuries they do have the potential though.
if they focus on the Champions League, then they have all the chances to perform well. They now have a more balanced squad than last year, and Suarez can help them a lot in this regard.

However, in modern football everything is solved by huge amounts of money!
I know in modern football anything can still happen and that's only because of money. However, I believe Messi would not do that for money and that is due to other factor such as his dissatisfaction with the club's management.

Everything still happens, Messi not extended his contract till today, it's mean Messi can go anywhere on the next summer window. And yes, Barcelona doesn't want Messi leave their club, and they are have a plans to replace current President. Referendum on the way, Bartomeu need to gain minimum 15.000 votes to be on the safe place as Barcelona president, if he get less than 12.000 votes he will lose. His problem with Messi can be a factor that made him will lose. New president, maybe Messi will stay.
Messi has a huge influence at the club and it is not uncommon for many of his wishes to be fulfilled. On several occasion he has put pressure on the club quite often in making choices such as player recruitment and other policies and now it look like he is also putting pressure on the club to replace its president with a new president. The contract, which has not yet been extended, is a way for the club to act quickly if it is to maintain it as a club icon in modern football history.

Messi's career is almost over
Some players whole careers cannot be compared to 1 year of Messi's career, although I am not a big fan of him but that's the truth and Messi career isn't almost over. I am pretty sure he can keep playing for another 5 years as he used to do before. The question is whether Messi will end his career in Barcelona, if koeman succeeded, or not.

Messi won't change his decision and sign a new contract too soon. He love Barcelona and he can stay in Barcelona with a new contract but it will only happen at the end of this season if he feels happy with new manager (Koeman), this season results and future plans from the board (or new President).

He is not happy in the club and smart enough to not fall into trap of the board again. Nine more months and he will be free.

I think Messi will make his decision based on Barcelona's performance this season. Messi will be stay in Barcelona next season if Koeman can do something good with this team. Messi's career is almost over. I think, now his only goal is champion league's title. Stay calm until next season. Koeman is a skilled coach. See how far he can take the Barcelona team forward.

It's just that we will never see Messi betray Barcelona, which has made his name in the world. I don't think he will leave and become an enemy for Barcelona for another club. If that happens, I can't imagine what his emotional situation on the pitch would be against Barcelona.

The club want to show how jerk are they to the world.
And i think barcelona successfully make it happened, everybody around the world now feel sorry to messi and feel hatred to barcelona well well well.
The best revenge is by moving to rival , not real madrid it is impossible but atletico madrid to join his best friend luis suarez. We will see this to come.

The same was once said about Ronaldo, who "would never betray Real", because he was club captain!
Although personally I also think that Messi will not leave!
However, in modern football everything is solved by huge amounts of money!

There is nothing as betrayal on changing teams in club football. Club football is a commercial platform where transfers are regulated.
Ronaldo is a Portuguese, he was just an employee of Real Madrid. He went to another club legally for his own benefit.
Messi too don't necessary be involved with Barcelona forever, tough he joined the team in his early age, it was not Barcelona that picked him up and made his life. He was already a promising player before he decided to give a trail for Barcelona.
Messi is a much humble player and he didn't wanted any negative image for himself and the club he served. He wanted to leave the club but decided not to fight Barcelona in court.

Luis could make a change in the team which he's joining and it could be more advantage if he can get another support of a good player too in football. Seeing his record as a striker and able to win 6 trophies in different leaue and had even make 400+ career goals is an exemplary achievement that a football player could make.

Yeah I agree with you to wait and see what will going to happen with Messi if he will going to join in other team the atletico madrid. Probably Barcelona will going to taste their own medicine and will make regrets for letting this to happen.

All of a sudden they are now fumbling. They should have just let Messi go and got whatever Millions of Euros they expected from his transfer instead of making the move impossible through courts of law.
-snip-

exactly, even they need messi int the field, but with current clubs conditions, selling messi with some million euros will help the club survive. Next year he will also become free agent.

@AakZaki, its because of Guardiola factor, of course his age may old enough. but, if Messi join City, Pep can maximized his playing style

In order to prevent the spread of the corona
virus, it is best for Barcelona to release some of its players, including Messi, so it can reduce the burden of paying salaries.

Barcelona without Messi will not be the same Barcelona and I don't see any other player to replace Messi in Barcelona. Messi is the center of attention, he has a great talent capable of moving the entire Barcelona team, he had several matches where Messi saved the team from defeats, I am a fan of Real Madrid but I really admire the quality that Messi has.

It's true that it's not profitable for Manchester City to actually sign Messi, because he is 33 years old, which has passed its best year.

Manchester City would benefit greatly from a quality player like Messi, even though Messi is 33 years old and 3X better than any City player. I will take as an example the game between Manchester City - leedes. clearly leeds could have won the game, but missed a lot of goals, but if Messi were playing for City, he would probably created chance of score gol because Messi has good dribbling, he can create opportunities for other players to score goals and he is an expert in scoring goals. In the match between FC Barcelona vs Sevilla, messi made an excellent pass that made the Sevilla defender make a mistake and barcelona score a goal

Barcelona reportedly will cut the salaries of players and club officials due to financial problems. In fact, there is one rumor that I think is quite surprising. The reason is, after success to keep Messi in Barcelona, the financial situation problem due to Corona made Barcelona have to carry out alternative solutions including giving freedom for players to release their contracts. If, Messi wishes of course he can do that, and then he can join City on a free transfer.
Apart from the players, I also heard that staff salaries will be cut. I think this has  to save the club's finances. I think the income from selling the jersey is not enough, they need an audience to buy match tickets. For messi, I think this can happen. But will City still benefit in the long term, is he getting old?

I think the staff salaries will be cut is just a rumor, it's true that Barcelona is experiencing financial problems, but there is another way to go.
Of course income from selling jersey will not be enough to solve financial problems in Barcelona. I agree Barcelona need income from ticket
sales, but the number of spectators present must be limited and enforce the COVID19 protocol. In order to prevent the spread of the corona

@MCobian it’s confirmed that the staff of Barcelona will be facing wage cuts, but as of now their player’s will be spared subject to certain conditions being fulfilled which will be disclosed in coming days. Also a vote of no confidence against Barcelona President has been accepted, and in coming days it’ll be put to test which will definitely effect Barcelona current campaign, as the opposite Presidential candidate isn’t keen to keep Koeman as Barcelona’s head coach.

Even the Staff salaries to be cut?? What's wrong with Barca's management, have they just lost a crucial partnership?
I think they won't cut Staff salaries unless they are in a big financial crisis. I just know about this information, I am a bit surprised!!

I think the income from selling the jersey is not enough, they need an audience to buy match tickets.
Yes, not enough. They need investors or new partnerships. Expecting more audience isn't a proper solution during this pandemic, bro.

But will City still benefit in the long term, is he getting old?
If the price is still high, I think Man City is better to sign another top player.
Why do they need to spend a big amount of money on an old age player? I agree if Messi isn't young anymore.
