Valencia were bound to lose and concede so many goals even with "Messiless" Barcelona.

Does not mean Barca is really good tho.

On average, their xGA is still high. Based on the last 4 matches, they have 3.6 xGA and 6.8 xG. Means that in each match their opponents have a chance to score at least one goal. Still better than Madrid but hey, they're on top of them now.

It would be an amazing season (for other teams) if they can kick Barca and Madrid out of top 3. Let's see how they play in the EUFA League then.

I agree with you. Barca wasted so many talents in recent years. I don't like their current policy to buy big stars instead of trusting in academy talents. Fati seems like a promising player, but way too early to hype him.
We reached big win against Valencia even without Messi, but again we conceded few goals, what already become into worrying trend.

They are currently very disorganized after the unfortunate sacking of the very Coach that helped bring back a trophy for them after along period against Barcelona.
Any team in La Liga would love to meet Valencia at this time of transition

Hmm, Deulofeu, Adama Traore, Munir, Bojan, Cuenca, Tello...They were also really promising youngsters when they made their debut with Barcelona (next Messi, next Ronaldo, usual marketing stuff), nowadays, everyone forgot about them.

Only time will tell if the new La Masia gems like Ansu Fati, Aleña, and Riqui Puig, will follow the footsteps of the 2002-2007 generation (Messi. Pedro, Pique, Fabregas, Valdés), or end up like first ones that I mentioned.

To summarize what happened in this round - Atletico lost for the first time and they had no chance to win against Sociedad.
I lost my only bet today - I had Celta win. But I think referee robbed them by giving 2 questionable red cards in the first half even after VAR review.

I'd say Messi snd Suarez in 16year old but the tag would be outrageous, but he's really that good. Hopefully, Barcelona would nurture his talent.
Barcelona is always good at nursing young players. They have this history of creating and caring for players and turn them to superstars. I hope this young fella gets the same.

I agree with @Joniboini There has been a hude the decline in La Masia players reaching the peak of their talents since the present Barca administration. There has been a huge lack of trust in them while the club enormous transfer fees to bring in recruits of the same calibre. All Barcelona does these days is to send these players out on series of loans(often with a buyback clause), That happened with Deulofeu, Denis Suarez, and Munir. All these were kids with great potentials and could have reach some peak if the club had given them better opportunities they were afforded to Busquets, Iniesta and Xavi. I doubt even those three great minds or even Messi would have existed under this current board.

I have a parlay today: Espanyol ML / Sevilla ML / Cagliari ML

I'm off to a good start. Espanyol made their comeback in just 3min and ended up grabbing the 3pts after winning 1-2 against Eibar. Sevilla got the job done and they're currently at the top of the league table with 10 pts.

Now i just need to wait for Cagliari to not mess up my parlay lol

La Masia is not as good as before. In recent years, they only promote several players and Barca is doing something like Madrid did, buying players from various clubs to replace their old players. Compared to the Messi era or a few years before that, the quality of the young players that eventually make it to the 1st club is decreased.

Here's a good article covering this topic[1]. This is also a good video[2]. I certainly hope Barca will improve La Masia again and stop doing Madrid tactics and philosophy to build their team.

Valverde is probably going to get replaced sooner or later, but if they stick with their current transfer policy, I doubt it will bring back La Masia to its glory again.

Goal & an assist by Ansu Fati for Barcelona tonight vs Valencia. This kid is 16 years old, how fucking good could he be?

And with that loss for Atletico, now nobody in La Liga has 100% starting.
Every team have had their fair share of reality that the season isn't going to be a roller coaster ride.

Didn't know that you also follow Barcelona LOL

Yeah 5 -2 win and finally Barcelona seems back in their usual dominance. I had doubt before the match starts since Messi was not playing but that early goal from Fati was assuring that something will happen in this match and then after few minutes goal from De Jong cleared it that this will be Barcelona's turn after some bad starts in the league.

Both Fati and Suarez were all over the ground.

I definitely did not see the Levante almost comeback happening but they will be happy and I'm happy at least we all know Real's defences are crap.

So are ours but we had to deal with Valencia. So good to see Suarez get his brace and our new boy get one goal too. It's going to be a really tough season for everyone.

I watched him a bit yesterday and he had few more great moments in the game which didn't end with a goal. Definitely a player to watch. Let's just hope the kid has a good had on his shoulders. The comparisons with Messi already started and those are big boots to will. His coach already said that the buble started to inflate but he will do his best to deflate it, rather then to wait for it to burst.

Bad week for Atl Madrid, They were unable to win when they visited Real Sociedad's headquarters. And unlike their rivals, Real Madrid and Barcelona had a good week after having had a bad week too. They get full points in this week's match. With that they tightened Atl Madrid at the top of the standings. And one more thing, Bilbao only drew this week.

I saw James was workings so hard. He has to impress Zidane to be on the squad. I do feel James can replace the Balon Dor winner Modric. James will get 2-3 more matches to prove himself until Modric returns.

He definitely can, he has the quality. I love the chemistry between James and Hazard already. I was thinking hazard would mark his Real Madrid debut with a goal but well, guess I was been too optimistic. Anyways, I'm glad Madria ended the day with 3goals and 3point. I would say it was a fair debut for hazard.

Courtois needs to improve and start keeping clean sheets, the goals he has conceded in a very short period of time are just too much for a world class goalkeeper like him. Still wish him the best although he left Chelsea on a sad note unlike hazard.

Hazard's on!  Nice seeing him in that number 7 shirt.

Edit:  Wow seriously, really Real...?  3 - 2 now.  Lmao.

I expected a cruise from Real Madrid after 3 - 0 at halftime, At least the were still able to secure 3 points. It all could have been a different story (disastrous one) If Courtois hadn't made that crucial save.

I hope Barcelona can follow up with a victory of theirs, Even if it's marginal like this. You don't want to get too far behind this early into the league.

Clearly, Real dominate the first half but the second half Levante worked hard to come back. on 92nd minute Courtois saved a brilliant ball that allowed Madrid to have 3 points from Santiago Bernabeu for the first time on this season.

Casemiro is a gem for Real and Brazil. When Casemiro was substituted, Madrid started struggling. I don't need much to say about Ramos, Carvajal. But Vinicius needs to improve a lot.

Real Madrid climbs to the second position on LaLiga table. Barcelona has a match today against Valencia. Let's enjoy it! Wink

I think that something is going really wrong with Real.
From 3-0 to 3-2 isn't a good sign especially if you play with a weak team like Levante. I hope Zidane is going to fix this situation.

I think Liverpool will win again, but who knows. They needed a win to make sure the competition is as strong as ever.

Half time and Liverpool is leading by one goal. Score 2 - 1
Obviously Liverpool's eyes are on the season title so they will make no mistakes to grab 3 points from as many matches as they can. The biggest competition for them is City. The fight seems still in between these two teams this year too. So the one will make more mistakes will risk their chances to win the title.

Levante got a goal now, but still a long way to go before they can equalize the scoreline.
Levante got another goal LOL

I think Real is way bigger club than Levante but looking at 3 - 2 score is not saying much.

All in for Liverpool vs Newcastle. 1 - 1 there. Liverpool was behind but Mane equalized few minutes ago. Liverpool is controlling the entire match. There will be more goals in any moments.

Yep, 80% ball possession is crazy af. Sad to see Origi is being substituted, but with Firminho on the pitch, getting more goals must be the target.

I think Liverpool will win again, but who knows. They needed a win to make sure the competition is as strong as ever.
