So finally, Hazard will make his debut against Levante on Saturday.Surely, every madridista is waiting for this match. But also another sad news for us that Modric is injured and will miss this match and also the match against PSG.

Zidane has a huge task ahead, many matches to play but injury list is long. So, next 30 days would be really crucial for Real Madrid. Firsr derby of the season is also ahead on 29th of this month.

Hazard's time has come. I hope that he is going to have a decent season with Real Madrid similar to the one that he did with Chelsea.
And a perfect start would be with a goal. Modric is a valuable player but Real Madrid has a lot of player to cover his position. It won't be a big deal for Zidane.

We are here waiting for the appearance of danger this season, whether according to price or not. To be sure very much awaited appearance against PSG in the champions league. I hope he really is
able to prove or even bring Real Madrid to win. And indeed, it is unfortunate that Modric suffered an injury. As @Naida said that real madird has a decent replacement for the modric position.

After one week International break we are going to see la liga between Mallorca and Ath. Bilbao. Bilbao has good opportunity to collect three more points since their record against Mallorca is very good.

However, I am looking forward to see the match between Barcelona and Valencia. Not sure if Messi is going to play, if he is not playing then we may see another draw match for Barcelona or the worse is another lose.

@logfiles i forgot you were a RM fan. Hey, some recent news for us: https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2019/09/12/5d7a24c4268e3e44488b45cc.html

Another player injured. this is getting ridiculous now. FFS! We spent over 300M in the last transfer window and we're gonna end up using the youngsters from the acadamy Lips sealed

Anyways...Guys, any early comments about the Mallorca vs Bilbao tomorrow? I'm tempted to go for a home win @3.73, even though Bilbao are 2nd in the league table.

It says Hazard is back soon though so there is that I guess. He’s your main man. It doesn’t look like any of them are major injuries? Modric is a muscle injury, hopefully he’s back soon too, great little player.

They have done it before on a budget limited squad under Simeone, why not now after spending?
Hopefully, Simeone will be able to handle the high expectations around the team, otherwise, the players might feel like they can win a game before even playing it, and that usually not goes the way you want it to go (as a Real Madrid fan, i know this lol).

Atletico Madrid or Diego Simeone will never get cocky ahead, from my perspective the team treats every match with the same preparation, except there's something bigger to play for.

It's sad thou that you missed that glorious period of rivalry in terms of unbelievable stats, record breakings, Spectacularly consistent non-stop performances from season to season between Messi and Ronaldo.

Didn't miss the glorious period per se, ok well I did in regards to watching the matches but I was always keeping myself upto date with the stats and never did missed Monday Night football via Supersport were I got the summary of all the matches played during the weekend. No doubt those two are the greatest of all time. I still keep myself updated with C. Ronaldo's stat irrespective of the league he's playing in although i might not watch all the matches due to lack of free time.

Thanks for welcoming me, there's the myth Ronaldo made La Liga what it's today in regards to the TV rating. A big part of me agree to this, no disrespect to Messi though.

Hazard is the only reason for my recent interest in the league and it's just to watch him perform. I'll be routing for Real Madrid so I wish all their fans the best although it'll be a tough battle like I said earlier, Barcelona have invested so much to not win the league. Wish Real Madrid the best though for Hazard. #HalaMadrid

Especially beginning from 2009. Ronaldinho had Just left Barcelona and Messi was now the fan favourite. As a long term Real Madrid fan, i must say i was lucky to witness all the history making during that period and i don't know whether i will see anything of that sort again.

@logfiles I started watching Real Madrid games because of Ronaldo, and he indeed took La Liga by storm from 2009 - 2018. I’m not expecting Hazard to fire this season as he’s gained lots of extra weight, plus his recent injuries will effect his performances. Atletico Madrid are the real contenders for the title, Real Madrid may finish second or third as I don’t believe they can win the league with their current squad.

Don't worry, you're not alone. Barca fans probably did it too last year and unfortunately, their team lost to Liverpool.

Overconfident always cost you.

La Liga is ranked first in Europe iirc. Maybe because their rivalry is so good and there's no such thing on other leagues. I hope there will be another rivalry like this man. Kinda feels like watching Tsubasa in real life.

Slava Ukraini!

So, recent news from La Liga: Valencia's manager (Marcelino) has been sacked[1]. Like the article says, Marcelino returned Valencia to its glory days, I mean, they beat Barcelona last year in the league cup final! I feel really bad for the fans, they don't deserve this kind of shitty board (Peter Lim, the owner, should be the one to get the sack).

Damn, just when I thought Valencia had what it takes to win at the Camp Nou with a Barcelona without Messi[2], i was looking forward to adding them to a parlay but now i don't know. Current odds for Valencia to win are around 11/2 right now, i'm pretty sure the odds before the news were 9/2 or something :/

Wow, it's big surprise for me, because I didn't knew about this drama behind the doors. Marcelino is great manager, Valencia had very solid last season. And now they hired manager without much experience just few days before match with Barca and start of Champions league campaign. It doesn't sounds good for Valencia and their fans.

Real Madrid weren't that convincing last season and their team haven't improved that much to match that of Barcelona irrespective of them buying hazard (although he's good, he doesn't have much goals in him. Mostly a play maker).
We were (and still are) in the rebuilding phase after Ronaldo's departure, so it's gonna take some time before the team finds their style.

+1 for your detailed explanation. I stopped giving La Liga attention after Samuel Eto'o/Ronaldinho era ended, thought Ronaldo will make me fall in love with the league again but that wasn't the case. Even Messi impressive stats wasn't attractive to me as most of the league matches are just boring unlike the premier league. Most times I only watch El Clásico just to watch Ronaldo display.

Nah, I don't think it's about form, it's about Messi, once he's back on the pitch, they'll go back to the old Barca we all know. Without Messi, this team in form or out of form is average mainly because Valverde is a mediocre manager.

This is an underlying problem that the club management has to tackle. A club that has spent the amount of money Barcelona has on sign-ins over the past two or three seasons shouldn't be dependent on just one player (no matter how great that player is).
There are quality players, but not enough quality in the technical crew to manage them.

I agree with you. Why does a team as big as Barcelona that has a lot of funds still depend on one person? Isn't there still 10 people in the team if there isn't one of these players. What is the point of buying expensive and great players if you still hope for Messi.

Yeah, they should be able to do it as long as they're consistent.

Bilbao also has a good run recently. I'd love to see this for the rest of the season, must be a good season if the competition keeps going on like this.

You pretty much nailed it @Tomahawk9

Atletico Madrid have everything to challenge for the title and champions league. It doesn't matter whether Barcelona and Real Madrid will be at their best or not. The thing is you can't write off ATM especially this season when they finally decided to spend losts of money, something they usually don't do.

...

I thought I was out of sMerits, you've got my last one!

Atletico have never been a one man team, not even during Aguero or Diego Forlan's era. They'll competitive to their own capacity all through the season. Expecting them to win the league just this early is asking too much of them.

And for Valverde, It's just the Barca Board totally at fault, I knew he's never going to be great coach for Barcelona, A coach that has a mentality of finishing in the top 4 or 6 position, Unfortunately all his thinking and approach is still within that range.

Does Atletico Madrid have the team to compete for the title, can they be consistent?
I can answer this. Yes, Atletico does have a squad to compete not just for the league title but also the league cup and Champions League. IMO they have one of the best squads in Europe. And also, yes, they can be consistent, they're not like Barcelona or RM where depend completely on one single player to lead them, they're more about teamwork.

When last did Atletico compete head to head with the top two clubs Barcelona and Real Madrid for the title?
Last year, they finished 2nd just 7 pts behind Barca. Also, in 2016, they finished 3rd and just 3pts behind Barcelona. Overall, they've been in the top 3/top 2 over the last few seasons (and they didn't have the squad they have today which like I said it's pretty strong).

Barcelona haven't found their form yet
