Thibaut Courtois was named the player of the month of january in laliga. He has had one of the best recoveries this season after the very slow start to his first season at Spain, gradually picking up form this season and has conceded the fewest number of goals in laliga this season.

The problem is who will replace Messi in the future 
No one can replace Messi. We know that Messi is a special player. The focus shouldn't be on the Messi factor but on how to make the team plays effectively. Even they play with Messi or without Messi. It's hard to find a player like Messi because it is rarely owned by other players. Now Messi is on the verge of a problem with Barcelona's top so this will cause the messi discourse to go next season.

Even if I am not a Barcelona fan, but I also think the same as you. Barcelona is not in good shape, it needs to have a bit change. Don't rely on Messi since it will be a nightmare when Messi is not in good condition. Barcelona needs to play as a team, not as a group of people to support Messi only. yesterday was a very dramatic day, when I bet on the victory of Barcelona I hoped that Barcelona would go through some hardship but that in the end I would win without having suffered many goals. But during the game I realized that I was completely wrong. Barcelona only has a name and is not that big team as in the past. I will be careful with the next bets that involve barcelona

If you take any elite, world class player out of any team then it will weaken them. Messi is one of the best players to ever kick a ball so of course Barca are worse without him.

Barcelona are not getting any better and they need next summer transfer market to be very sensitive, there is no longer room for more deals that are delayed by work or procrastination by purchasing reinforcements for all lines. Almost there is a shortage in every line and in every direction .. Selling Coutinho and Dembele is the first step in raising the team's liquidity and get the players they need for those weak positions. I do agree that they really need to improve though. I totally love Messi but we're killing him by relying on him too much.
Believe you me, take away Messi from the current Barcelona squad you will discover that club like Mallorca might defeat them, Barça needs a reshuffle in their squad, a solid midfield is needed, gone are those days of Xavi and Iniesta, De Jong and Arthur are trying their best but to me, they are still not yet doing much required to the team
To be honest, take away Messi from the current barcelona squad and they will be no different to Valencia, which are full of inconsisitencies.
I think barcelona needs to do the right things, stick to a manager, buy players fitting the system, stop buying hypes (dembele, coutinho) because they simply do not fit the system

I think that Barcelona had a difficult day yesterday.
It wasn't an easy match for them, as it used to be in the past when facing Betis. Too sad, Barcelona is not the old team that can do rotation in this game. They have to be careful in each and every one game.

It is questionable to criticize Barcelona to be depending on Messi so much, he is arguably the best player we have ever seen in the past 2 decades and a team that raised him since his childhood and he played for over 2 decades (both juniors and A team) should in fact, not rely on him? If you ever have a player like Messi and you can afford to not sell him (if he was found in some rough team at age of 20, he would have been sold for millions in a second), that is what you do, you rely on him to make a difference, because he is freaking Messi.
Definitely when he leaves that will be a sad day and the team is definitely ready for it, but look at Madrid, they recovered after Ronaldo left and I am sure even if it takes 1-2 seasons for Barcelona to recover, they will find a way to play without Messi when he retires.

I agree if Barcelona relies heavily on messi, it has been going on for a long time and I am just afraid that dependence on messi will make it harder to control yourself because of his age. So its natural that Messi is no longer consistently creating goals for every game, but his presence on the field will make the opposing player more alert and that will make other Barcelona players more free to enter the opponents goal area.Messi is creating chances, he always creates chances. He is equally good in playmaking and shooting. However, he is suffering from groin injury and that is what made his shooting instinct slow. Even in yesterday's game, Messi hit 3 shots on target but goalkeeper was able to save all of them as they weren't hit with pure conviction. Even stats show that he scored 12 goals in his first 9 LaLiga games while only 2 in his last 8 games.
So far De Jong is an important player for Barcelona, he can control the ball in the middle and it really helps the attackers on one third of the opponents field. I think De Jong purchase was not a mistake, it was extraordinary.
De Jong is pure Ajax/Barcelona style of player. He can maintain possession, play one-two with other players, make forward burst into box and create magical chances from tight angles. How can I forget the destruction he did to Modric and Real Madrid last season. He is already playing like pro-Barcelona player but last game finally revealed Ajax-level De Jong for Barcelona.

Sadly, i have to conclude that barcelona is not fun to watch at all and it bothers me alot lol.

I did bet live yesterday in the Barcelona game.I took the risk when the result was 1-1 and the odd was 2 in Sportsbet.When I saw that Betis got the advantage I thought I was lied by the odds another time but luckily Barcelona did win the game and I won the bet.After many days without winning it felt good to win.

Massive win for Barcelona. 3 assists from Messi, is this Messi-dependency? Or that term only applies when he scores goals? Either way, no Pique and Lenglet for next week, the only fit centreback is Umtiti. At least they'll be playing at the Camp Nou.

The current results on Real Madrid/Barcelona Matches didn't change the position on the table since they both won the matches. Real Madrid can win convincingly by scoring 4 goals, while Barcelona experienced a tight match (almost got a draw result). I think Barcelona is not in good performance lately.
