Real Madrid's formation this season seems really interesting... Grin

They are using the left wing very often. It is like they don't know the right wing exists. But I understand of course. They can really be more effective from the left. Vinicius Junior is really making big difference there. But seeing even Rodrygo there sometimes feels different.

This strategy sometimes fails though. It all depends on their facing a solid defending from that side. In those situations we see Real Madrid struggling quite much to score. I'm curious about what Ancelotti's other plans will be in that case.

I too had predicted it to be an easy win for Real Madrid. Honestly, this is a form of insult to a player's achievements and Gundogan really doesn't deserve this kind of treatment. Barcelona is the worst team so far in dealing with their players' problems and this is proof that they are unable to provide the right solution so that everything can run side by side. Again, what caused this all was because there were some greedy players who didn't want to leave and chose to stay no matter what.

We know that there are De Jong, Lewandowski, and Ferran Torres who have sky-high salaries but just do whatever they want without ever thinking about the club's finances. Maybe for Lewandowski it is still understandable because he has contributed enough but De Jong or Ferran Torres can't provide anything other than a financial burden on the club. What do you want those players to do? Do want them to terminate their contract on their own or what exactly do you want from them. This is not a bad result and I think a draw is fair for both teams because Villarreal and Atletico Madrid are strong La Liga teams with almost the same strength and Villarreal is slightly advantaged because they are playing at home so a 2-2 draw is fair enough with a fairly balanced team game in the first half and in the second half.

He'll be missed but, his absence will have no negative effect with the performance of the club, as much they bring in the right tactics to accommodate Gavi, Pedri and Daniel Olmo in midfied.
I don't even think it's got to do with his payroll. If that was the case, they wouldn't have hesitated to terminate that of Frankie De Jong honestly.

I feel like it's got to do with the comments IIkay Gundogan made when he was questioned about the lose to Paris Saint Germany. I'd say he's got standards in my opinion. Araujo was wrong in between, Barcelona defense will be in a detrimental situation if they eventually fail to sell out the Uruguayan defender. He committed a huge blunder during that game and has refused to accept it. He behaves as if he is a world class player when he is not honestly.

So from what we have seen I am still quite optimistic even though Ilkay Gundogan's departure leaves a hole in the midfield but Barcelona's new coach can overcome this and I am quite optimistic that Barcelona can compete for the La Liga title this season with the strength they have now, I saw their performance in the first week's match and I was quite impressed.

Barcelona has now turned into an opportunistic club I agree with that. Barcelona are now in dire financial straits. And unable to pay players high wages or buy players at high prices. For these reasons, Barcelona is forced to be opportunistic. Barcelona might have tried to keep Gundogan if Gundogan's wages were lower.

Moreover, with the help of Hansi Flick, Barcelona is now moving forward with a new plan. Barcelona are keen to build a youth-oriented squad. And this is the long term plan. So now Barcelona are trying to add young players to their squad. This could also be a reason why Barcelona are not interested in Gundogan.

Barcelona were interested in Nico Williams. Barcelona will probably try their best to sign Nico. Hansi Flick seems to be more interested in young players.

I think we are overreacting over here. Because this was Real Madrid’s first match with the new lineup and it is okay to draw. Many people would be thinking that Real Madrid would not do well in this season. I mean come ooon, it is just the first match. They did well against Atalanta. They can do better than that. It is just the start for the team, so wait and see, they can achieve many things.

Ancelotti has always been able to blend his team well in terms of tactics and I am pretty sure he will be able to do the same this time. He has fought against even harder challenges before. People are overreacting just because Mbappe has just joined the lineup. We need to keep in mind that having Mbappe and many other great players in the lineup doesn't mean they will win every match. Previously there were many teams with basically the best 11 imaginable of that time and they were not able to achieve much. So let the time do its thing, and wait and see.

I think it's the only solution for Barcelona. They can't register Olmo in the squad. Letting Gundogan leave for free will cut their wages. Then, they can register Olmo with La Liga.
