I don't think there was much issue getting Mbappe to come to Real Madrid because before he signed last Contract at psg he was expected to join Real Madrid at that time they were even ready to pay for him but after the contract Madrid felt betrayed and did somehow moved on.

Now when opportunity came to get him again, they didn't really bother because they didn't want to pay any fee for him and rather wait till season ends since it was obvious Mbappe wants Real Madrid or nothing and this is the reason the Psg president is angry at Mbappe because he couldn't make anything from the sale of his price asset.

Real Madrid might has spent much in renovation of Bernabeu but they have little worry about it from getting more players because they have not really spent much these past seasons in getting players compared to other big teams while though they have won more trophies.
