It wasn't Barcelona's best game, but Xavi's recent games have been difficult and they were lucky to regain second place.  The La Liga is pretty competitive but I think it revolves majorly around Real Madrid and Barcelona as other clubs tend not to be able to perform better than these 2 clubs. Even though Girona's performance so has granted them an exemption too, being that they've even done well to perform extra to prove their worth and relevance. The game last night put Barcelona a point ahead of Girona.

 It was a much needed win for Barcelona although the gap is little and definitely before the season is wrapped up, anything can happen. Girona seems determined to make a difference this season. Barcelona with their sloppiness should be mindful and careful not to give off their position. Just a little bulge can push them off. We'd see how the final games would turn out for the teams.

This is a very bad result for sociedad. The loss to Barcelona has almost eliminated its chances of qualifying for the conference league even though there are some remaining matches to pass with but it seems like that sociedad has a very small chance here. Betis has taken the conference lead after winning the current matchday and this is somewhat make sociedad gets a big pressure. Sociedad may not be able to compete in the conference league next season, sociedad must have won the remaining games. Winning the remaining games, combined with praying for its opponents to miss some points is critical for the club caused by betis shall also lose the full points too. The match didn't end as I anticipated, I also doubted Barcelona to have victory over Real Sociedad because they're capable of beating Barcelona at Camp Nou. However, I didn't realize that Barcelona is also fighting for the second place in the league, I thought Barcelona would have a hard time winning the game since their opponents would do anything possible with their strength to secure the point and qualify for the next European competitions. With so many challenges in their remaining games, Real Sociedad will find it difficult to compete in other competitions next season. I believe Real Betis also want to maintain their current position since they cannot qualify for the Champions League.

Girona is behind Barcelona by one point, I'm not sure that Barcelona is going to finish the season in second place because the one point difference is not enough to be comfortable in the position. However, both clubs have the strength to beat their opponents in the next three games. Let's see who is going to finish the season in second place.

For Sociedad the loses from Barcelona is very unfavourable because they were failed to overtake Betis on League Table but the difference points between them and Betis is not too far and it still very possible to achieved and for top 4 the winning result from Celta makes Atletico Madrid can collect 70 points and currently Atletico Madrid has 8 points above to Bilbao and indeed their chances to secured 4th place is very wide open because Atletico Madrid only required 1 point to makes them automatically secured the last spot of Champion League zone and Atletico Madrid upcoming match is against Getafe and considering Getafe is not strong team in Laliga i think Atletico Madrid at least can get draw result from their opponent

The competition between Barcelona and Girona on the second position is quite interesting, although to an extent of was thinking since Girona has taken back the second position they will try as much as possible to retain it so that Barcelona will no longer be able to take it back from them but it seems there consistency is not good enough, however congratulations to Barcelona on there wining against real Sociedad because there performance was very impressive though they had a difficult time figuring out a way to penetrate Real Sociedad on the first half but they managed to score one before the end of the first half and at the end of the match they proved to everyone that they are still on there good form.

We had competitive clubs that aims for winning but its been out of shape for some of them. La Liga is mainly for elite team that are ambitious and ready to take the lead, it's been important from the good moments to win matches. Barcelona a little bit dissapointed with their poor performance at the early starts of the season and no longer competitive for Real Madrid this season perhaps they can do better in the next league campaign to prove themselves.
