The victory was quite important for Barcelona to take over second place again which had been shifted by Girona due to Barcelona's previous defeat. Real Sociedad wasn't that successful these days and they couldn't stand and score a single goal against Barcelona, even though Barcelona aren't that hard to beat this season.
For the title it is already gone to Real Madrid which is way ready and better this season whether in La Liga or UEFA Champions League.
For the second spot it will be between Barcelona and Girona but Barcelona's games are way easier than Girona's ones.

The humiliating defeat that Barcelona received from Girona seems to be the killer stroke that worsened the ordeal of Barcelona. I know the morale and self-confidence of the Barcelona players was affected by the 4-2 defeat to Girona, but Barcelona can basically play this match comfortably without too much burden.
