What is LBRY?
LBRY is like an app or platform. Users can upload&share their content, whether is it videos, pictures or any other kind of documents. It is the most open, fair, and efficient marketplace for digital goods ever created. The content is hosted on a decentralized and distributed network.

LBRY Credits, or LBC, are the unit of account for LBRY, which you can use to unlock&view the content. The content hosted on LBRY protocol can either be paid, or free to view.

THE SUCCESS OF YOUTUBE?
One of the reasons why youtube has became so popular was, because for the first time of human existence, you could expose yourself to the whole world. Without any big media backing or wealthy parents. The same goes for LBRY, but in addition to that, you will be able to sell that content to the public as well! Without any third parties taking their cut! ANYBODY can sell ANY kind of content to the WHOLE world!

The platform will as well include an off-chain solution for micropayments ( small payments that would not be worth it on-chain due to the fees), which is one of the best options there is. People will be able to pay without being bothered. It is scientifically and psychologically proved that the biggest barrier is not that you could not afford/sacrifice your money for it , but the mindset of having to pay. With micropayments this barrier could be erased, people will not bother having to pay very small amounts in order to support the content creators. This is what every single platform wants to incorporate - from google to Facebook, yet LBRY's solution seems one of the best so far.

LBRY APP - Digital Marketplace + Streaming Platform
LBRY app is currently being developed by the official team and is currently in closed beta. Once the platform is ready, it will be available to open beta users.

On LBRY you can host and sell almost any kind of files. They are hosted on decentralized network and all payments and distribution of the paid content is done through the LBRY protocol without involving any 3rd parties! You can sell music, audio, videos, PDFs, ebooks, ZIPs and basically pretty much every other files!

In addition to that, you can as well stream videos live from the platform. Livestream should be teoretically working already, but in practice it will be probably fully implemented once in the future!

LBRY is not just an app, it's a protocol and completely open source! Anyone can create and develop on the LBRY protocol. A new App store could be created by ANYONE. The are no limits to the possibilities. It could replace almost any content marketplace - from Themeforest, Appstore to Stock photos and much more! It's a digital marketplace for the people! Almost anything hosted on the web, could as well be hosted and sold through LBRY protocol!

NO THIRD PARTIES - PROFITS DIRECTLY INTO CREATORS POCKETS
We all know how amazing App Store is, but they take hefty fees of around 30% on EACH sale. With LBRY the content creator gets paid fully, without paying any provisions!

Yes there is a premine, 10% of the total coins are reserved for the LBRY team. Note, that none of these funds have been sold yet! Even when LBRY credits reached their highest price - 1,76$!
There is also premine reserved for partners&user adoption programs. In the beginnings PayPal gave out 5€ to new users. It's proven that the easiest way to get adopted by people, is to give them something for free - And that's what they will be getting - a part of the protocol, which they can use to pay and get the content! Also note that the funds for adoption will take a LONG time to be given out, the coins are not to be dumped on the market. Also it's not neccessary that all coins will ever be given out!
