this has been pretty smooth up to now.  980 to 1050 gh.  it has mine from april 20th to may 12th with 6 or six hours down time .  my 225 30 day host fee is due soon and the op has agreed to lower the fee by 5 bucks to 220 due to the 6 hour down time.

I gave op  a positive trust.  Since so far he deserves it.

Since I paid with this with paypal and time my cc to charge 1 day after the statement hit. I have paid no money out of pocket and mined for about 22 days.   Not bad  so far.

My first out  of pocket will be the 225-5 = 220 usd fee for hosting. Due on may 20th.

This sure beats a preorder I have mined about 1.33 coins so far I will be close to 1.77 coins when the first host fee is due. that fee will be 220 usd.

this buy will only make money if btc goes up in price. but most gear is like that right now.

So how much electricity does that unit use?

I'm considering whether to do the hosted option or shipped option.  How much would it be fore paypal for both options?

I apologize - but I need to go to work and didn't have time to do the math - hopefully a kind soul can help me out! Smiley

At 1000 watts or 1 k-watt an hour that is 24 k watts a day or 720 k-watts a month

10 cents a kwatt = 72 dollars
15 cents a kwatt = 108 dollars
20 cents a kwatt = 144 dollars
25 cents a kwatt = 180 dollars
30 cents a kwatt = 216 dollars

shipping = 100 to 200 dollars

Cooling well for most people it is getting closer to  the summer.

1000 watts of heat = 5000 btus or 1 small ac unit  this would be 25 to 50 a month.

I did a few price break downs.

I come up with

at 10 cents a kwatt it pays to have it shipped to your home.
at 15 cents a kwatt it pays to have it shipped to your home.

higher then 15 cents and you are coming to the summer let him do it.

I did not figure in the psu dying. ------------He uses 220 volts.  Ths psu would work better at 220 volts if you use 120 volts the psu is more likely to fail.   If you want the best substitute psu it is this one

http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-1300G2-ATX12V-120-G2-1300-XR/dp/B00COIZTZM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398684445&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+1300

and that is around 200 bucks. I believe it is better because of the price.

If you gave me a psu for free I would want one of these two

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JG5LSN8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Professional-Digital-Modular-Platinum/dp/B008Q7HUR0/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1398684809&sr=1-1&keywords=corsair+1200

I did not figure in the noise.

I did not figure time needed to babysit it.  I do not think I would go on a vacation for a week with it running and no one to look at it.

I did not figure learning curve of how to use it.

My summer power is 18 cents a kwatt so I let him host.

If my power was 15 cents I would have let him host.

But at 10 cents I would have shipped it to New Jersey.

Around 1000W at the wall.

You just have to work out if 1000W for you is cheaper than $225 per month.

Update  About 1 week of service so far.

I averaged around 1015gh and about 168 hours up and a 6 hour down time. I will be given a 5 dollar discount against my service/hosting fee. To make up for the lost hash.

I earned roughly .003 btc an hour on average  so that is about .5 btc earned.

One week is not 4 months but this was a good start.

My 5 hosted machines were also down for a few hours for this maintenance, but did receive an email in advance about it.
sorry for that maintenance issue, the data center inform me one day ahead, but i forgot to inform your guys in advance, i will keep this as a lesson and will inform you next time.

since most of the miner down for 6 hours, i can compensate a little, each miner will receive 5$ discount on the host fee of this month

That is close enough for me.   Thank you.

I am philipma1957   this pc does not have access to that account.

Somewhere he mentions he pays if down more then 3 hours.   I was down about 6 hours.  a 1tb machine earns about .003 btc an hour right now at current diff.  so 6 x .003 = .018 btc  coin base price is 446 usd  so .018 x 446 = $8.02 usd

I will owe 225 - 8 = 217 usd

I will post back to this with philipma1957 in a hour or less.  The main pc will be done with backups.

So far he has been good. I have  had this about  six days that is  144 hours and he is at 138 hashing and 6 down time.

One of my miners has been down for 7 hours. They probably are doing maintenance by sections since the rest of my miners seem up.
